Fine, to those of you who think you can sue NDDC please go ahead and sue them.

And to those of you soliciting co-operation to sign petitions, protest and all that please count some of us out. Not that we have given up but it is because we have found out the truth. This predicament we are going through now was compounded by some scholars.

So how do you all intend to defend your protest? What will be the theme of the so called protest? What will you say you are protesting about? When the body (NDDC) presenting the awards have come out with claims and allegations against some scholars. And to buttress my point further, these claims are very true. So who will the court acquit in this case? Scholars or NDDC?

Even if we send messages to all the direct numbers of top government officials, the blame will still come back to us because of the few bad eggs amongst us. What i'm i saying in essence, we are the ones who have given this opportunity to them to capitalize upon.

@ Mr. Nelson, i must say that i owe you a bottle of drink. Very well said. These scholars don't understand that the nobody owe them a dime in this country. Many of them are talking about tweeting, signing of petition and protest, when they are the one compiling the problems. Some go to the extent of signing agreement to part with a percentage of their upkeep if their names come out, and now you cry when they forfeit your tuition and upkeep. Some hang unto the premise that since all system is corrupt, we should all follow the trend. At times i ponder if these are really the would be future leaders of this country. It is such a shame. Moreover, we should all wake up, and wait for 2018, because 2017 is running out already.

Outside this thread, most of you are notorious supporters of these politicians. If they pay us.. Good, if they don't...deal with it or go hang yourselves. We deserve them. When 2019 comes, go take money from them and vote for them again. Let this thread be silent until our political gods decide if we deserve the nddc scholarship or not.

I think our protest should go to the past governor of Rivers State, Gov. Amaechi because he brought in Mrs Ibim Seminitari to become the Acting MD/CEO, while it was still the turn of Akwa Ibom State to produce an MD.

He should be summoned on this as well and the backlog in fees and upkeep should be recovered from Mrs. Ibim Seminitari.

That is where we should start if actually we want to resolve this issue. The manner at which our so called leaders break rules and go and walk free is what we should stop. It is time we as scholars demand for the right processes if not they will continue in what they know how to do best.

The big question remains how would a scholar who didn't follow any due process in achieving the award end up in the UK? And now how do you intend to get justice. To start with you have been (those involved) found wanting and in a compromising position. So there is nothing you will say to defend yourselves.

I for one, will NOT be involved in any protest, because some scholars are guilty and responsible for what is on ground now. It is rather unfortunate that others who went through the process are involved in this mess. Well if deportation is the drastic measure the UK government wants to take, i will advice those scholars affected to come back home.

From your below question, I have one or two advise for you.

My opinion, how do you cope with using a cafe to work as a freelancer. Is the cafe free of charge to you? If you are paying for time in this cafe, then certainly you will spend so much. Maybe you should focus more on making money by writing for students, then from there you can save up money to arrange a laptop for yourself because as a freelancer you will really need one.

I think you have to go back and make more findings on your facts. Mrs Ibim Semenitari, former acting MD/CEO of NDDC is the person that is putting future scholars in this mess. This backlog in payments of tuition and upkeep allowances to scholars started in her era. She endorsed candidates who were not qualified for the scholarship and most of them are on this forum following this thread.

If we must get things right, we have to stand up and demand for a transparent process in the administration of scholarship awards. Yes, she published the scores and names of candidates, but i tell you it was all formality. Candidates that were finally sent abroad to study passed through the back door.

I made a comment about the NDDC board getting it right before sending the next batch of scholars abroad and i was queried by someone on this platform accusing me of dining with the MD/CEO of NDDC.

Well, it is quite obvious by now to all of us that NDDC has a lot of issues pending that really needs to be resolved. Not just the scholarship.

I wonder why scholars here keep blaming NDDC when some of us here are part of the problem. Some scholars go to the length of getting
Senators, House of Reps, and House of Assembly Members, Ministers, Commissioners they know to write the MD/CEO of NDDC on their behalf
so they can be awarded scholarship. Some past scholars did not even pass through due process of selection but were awarded scholarships.

Now the current MD has said that such excesses cannot continue. Most of these problems were inherited from his predecessors. The pressure mounting on this man for trying to do the correct thing is this delay we are facing.

Some of us really need to #pauseandthink about this country and not just ourselves.

I really feel your predicament. I would like to add to what other people have said so far concerning your problem.

Brotherly, you don't need a soothsayer to confirm what your problem is. God has revealed already to you what the problem is. You have even confirmed that bad things happen when you have a particular dream or tell your wife about any plan you want to execute. These signs are not mere coincidence. God has shown them to you because he wants you to be delivered. God is looking for a way to rescue you but He needs you to initiate the way for Him to come in.

The first mistake you made was marrying your wife without proper visitation to the mother as tradition demands. She doesnt even need to say anything just her tears can act like fire. So what you will do, go to your wife's mother, apologize to her like a son, talk to her about what really happened when you were about to marry her daughter, get a list of things from her, buy them and present to her. Get her the best of drink in the midst of your family elders. Let her pray and bless you.

Secondly, seek for a spirit filled church and attain with your wife. Get the pastor of that church involved. Declare a fast in your house, maybe for 7 days, then go to the pastor in the church to pray for both of you. Yes your wife may be afflicted by a spirit husband. Does misappropriation and malfeasance take eternity to unravel? Monies were paid to individuals not ghost. Does internal weaknesses of an institution spearheaded by a few corrupt officials be responsible for majority missing their admissions? If this year's award is transparent, then it becomes easier to go back and undo previous anomalies. Let's stop giving excuses for incompetence please. Thank you.

The needful is we wait while the NDDC board sort things out. The list will come when all is set.
