2014 Post UTME Screening-Instructions on eligibility

The University of Ilorin invites all candidates who have applied for admission into the University as First Choice either through UTME or Direct Entry, to visit the University of Ilorin website, www.unilorin.edu.ng, for details of the procedure for the Pre- Admission Screening Exercise.
Registration for the Pre-admission screening will commence on Sunday 13th July and end Wednesday 23rd July, 2014.
The Pre-admission Screening Exercise is scheduled to take place from Monday, 21st to Saturday 26th July, 2014 using Computer Based Test (CBT) platform at Ilorin and Lagos Centres.
The deadline for the online registration is 23rd July, 2014. However, candidates awaiting results but who have registered on or before 23rd July, 2014 have the opportunity to submit their results online on or before 15th August, 2014 when the portal will be closed.
2013/2014 Remedial Students should await further instructions for their registrations.
ELIGIBILITY
Candidates must have:
Scored a minimum of 180 marks in the 2014 UTME for all courses except those for which higher cut off marks have been specified on the University website;
Made the University of Ilorin their first choice either at UTME or Direct Entry (DE) and;
Obtained Five (5) Credits in relevant ‘O ’ Level subjects, at not more than two sittings except in MB;BS where only one sitting is acceptable.
Eligible candidates should visit the University website www.unilorin.edu.ng to complete their registration online. Assessing the University website through any of search engines may lead to redirection to other websites not associated with the University.
For further enquiries, candidates should contact preadmission2014@unilorin.edu.ng.
The University charges N1,000.00 (One thousand Naira) only for the CBT exercise and N2,000.00 (Two thousand Naira) only for the University processing fee.

Candidates for the pre-admission screening exercise are advised to be decently dressed. Candidates with indecent dressing will not be allowed into the screening premises

1. Read, Review and Revise. Proper preparation reduces the risk of failure. There is never too much reading for you do not know where the questions will come from.
· Read your notes and jottings over and over again
· Solve past questions
· Join revising groups
· Attend Final tutorials organized by various organizations, fellowships and groups.
o All these will keep you updated will likely questions to come up during the Remedial Examination.
2. Abide strictly by the Rules and regulations given to you. University of Ilorin is a school built on Ethics and Character. You are expected to abide therein as you would if you are already a student. Probitas doctrina says it all.
· Do not make noise while on the premises as you would be disturbing the peace of other student. Make the environment conducive for learning, studying and examination. Do not play loud music> use your earpiece. Do not make loud jests among your friends, you are here for exams; focus on that.
· Do not fight with anyone. Report any issue to the security officers around. If person slap you, abeg no slap am back oo, na both of you dey go home be that. Just jejely go report am to oga security. Unilorin is a peaceful school, behave yourselves maturely.
· Indecent dressing/nudity will not be allowed. In your own interest, do not wear anything short of your knee length as a female; no outrageous hairstyles for males. No transparent clothings, no tight dressings. Be careful, we no dey allow nonsense dressing for our school oo. I no know no dey o. If dem catch you, na first class embarrassment you want get be that.
· Put on your Remedial Student Identity cards always. This is one of the most common rule broken by students. Don’t be made a scapegoat- You are not DBanj.

· The rest shall be given to you before you write papers. If you are told not to bring in anything into the examination hall, please abide strictly, if you are caught cheating….. #Thatsall.
3. Keep our Compound neat as you met it. Do not litter the grounds, use the toilet properly. There is water in most of the toilet, do not forget to flush. Do not tamper with the flowers. Take the appropriate routes. In your own best interest, do not play with dangerous items. The hostel facility made available to you should be treated as your own room at home. I’m sure you are neat student s at home; prove that to us here at Unilorin.
4. Keep your properties SAFE. It is your duty as a student to make sure you keep your properties safe. Lock your locker when going out. Keep your bag where you can monitor it. Do not give our stuffs to strangers you don’t know. Your phone should be with you or with your friend if you are going into the exam hall, not in your bag or under some leaves. Better still; lock it up in your locker. Be smart; report any suspicious movement by anybody to the Security men around. Do not give Chances to wicked beings.
5. Make friends: You do not know who might be of help to you in the future. Smile, be cautious, share your food, your money, past questions, knowledge etc. Do not be stingy. Please be careful though of the associations you join. Do not join bad gangs. Joining one is tantamount to forfeiting your candidacy.
6. And best of all; Be Prayerful: Prayer is the master key. It’s Ramadan season, make use of the various prayer grounds around the hostel (there is one between the Male hostel and Dept of Home Economics) also there is one beside the SLT. There are praying arenas too for the Christians. You can either pray with your friends in a gathering or attend Unilorin Christian Union UCU (Chapel of the Light) or Catholic (STAC) near the roundabout in front of the Senate building. God is the giver of Success. Commit your ways into His hands and you shall definitely come out in flying colors.

Click on Pre-Admission Screening Login
Enter JAMB Registration Number as your Login-ID and your Surname in the spaces provided, e.g JAMB Registration No: 23455677FC and Surname: Abu.
Click on Login
On the Menu List on the left hand side, click on "Click on Check Admission Status" Link
Proceed to the payment of Acceptance of N10,000.00 plus N250.00 processing fees by clicking on "Click here to make Payment" button.

Owing to the recent ASUU strike which has rendered a lot of students devastated concerning their network, hmmm, sorry school of choice, the NCC, sorry, NUC has now declared that Students who are not satisfied with their current tarriff plan- o, I mean School Calendar can now PORT to the only Better By Far University in Nigeria, a school that has distinguished itself in various areas especially by following a strict Academic calendar which is unaffected nor is it affectable by ASUU strike or Defence. For students who would like to PORT are encouraged to do so in order to hasten their schooling and avoid unnecessary break in transmission during calls, sorry jare- during Sessions.

This can be done simply by sending the word- PORT to 14213 (NUC) and your profile data will be transfered to your new school while you can retain your former Matric No. Plus- the Message costs nothing.
