Just Imagine the kind of people surrounding the people in authority in this country. |
zero8zero:Sometimes it’s better to remain silent than to speak and remove all doubt |
zero8zero:I showed you facts from a credible source. So you stop disgracing yourself on a public forum. |
zero8zero:Stop the lies. Anioma is Igbo . Read and cure your ignorance https://www.vanguardngr.com/2019/04/ekumeku-war-why-britain-balkanised-anioma-land/

Penguin2:Exactly. The only people denying Anioma’s Igbo identity are outsiders with an agenda to rewrite history. Unfortunately for them, they have finally met their match in Ned Nwoko, the man studied History in school, he not only knows his own roots but also understands the true heritage of his people. Anioma is fully Igbo and no amount of online noise or propaganda can erase that undeniable truth. |
I am glad he mentioned the Ekwumeku War, which lasted for 31 years against the British army. That was a defining moment in the history of the Igbo nation and her people. Many people know about the Biafran War, but it was not the first time the Igbo stood defiantly against invaders. The first war recorded in history was against the British army and it lasted for over 30 years. The colonialists could only claim victory only after resorting to the slaughter of unarmed women, children and the elderly, eventually forcing Igbo men to surrender. No other African tribe challenged colonial powers with such resistance, and it was precisely this boldness that made the Igbo a target of colonial suppression. This battle dealt a heavy blow to the British army, resulting in many casualties including the death of Captain H. C. Chapman, Lieutenant Moorhouse. Frustrated by their inability to subdue the Igbo, the British unleashed unimaginable terror burning towns, desecrating shrines, destroying sacred places, burning Igbo farmlands and carrying out massacres designed to completely crush the Igbo spirit.....this was the same template used by the Gowon troops during the Biafran war. Large bounties were placed on Igbo heads and neighboring tribes who were loyal to the colonial authorities were told to hate the Igbos and were rewarded for capturing them. Yet still, the Igbo refused to bow. It took more than three decades of bloodshed before the British could assert control. From that point onward, every Igbo person was seen as a threat to the colonial authorities and their motives... Survival and opportunities for the Igbos often demanded that some hide their identity. But the courage, resilience and spirit of the Igbo could never be extinguished. The legacy of that bravery endures. It is a reminder that the Igbo people, time and again have stood unbroken in the face of oppression, subjugation and forging a history of resilience that continues to inspire generations to this day. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2019/04/ekumeku-war-why-britain-balkanised-anioma-land/ |
Since someone moved from Lagos to Abuja residents no longer sleep with their eyes closed |
Putinofrussia:Trying to discredit a reputable media outlet just to fit your bias is not very intelligent. It’s almost comical that despite mountains of verifiable evidence, you stubbornly choose ignorance. Stop the lies. The facts remains indelible Louis Philip Odumegwu Ojukwu was already a verified billionaire in the 1960s, long before fake blogs even existed. Ojukwu’s wealth wasn’t based on gossip. Multiple international financial and news outlets in the 1960s referenced him as one of the richest men in Africa. These reports were written decades before Reno ever opened his mouth on social media. Sir Louis Ojukwu was the first African to be on the board of Shell BP, Chairman of the Nigerian Stock Exchange and owner of the biggest transport and trading empire in West Africa. His companies owned fleets of trucks, ships and real estate across Nigeria. He strategically supported Britain during world war II by providing logistics and was compensated after. These are documented facts in Nigerian government records, newspapers and archives |
UncleJJ:Not true. Click the links and read with an open mind |
PDPdestroyer:Here’s what Awolowo had to say about Igbos secession in 1967. Problem with most of you is ignorance mixed with mischievous agenda. On May 1 1967 at a meeting of Leaders of thought of Western Region, Chief Obafemi Awolowo made the following declaration: “I consider my duty to Yoruba people in particular and to Nigerians in general to place four imperatives, two of them categorical, and two conditional. (1) Only a peaceful solution must be found to arrest the present worsening stalemate and restore normalcy. (2) The Eastern Region must be encouraged to remain part of the Federation (3) If the Eastern Region is allowed by acts of omission or commission to secede from or opt of Nigeria, then Western Region and Lagos must also stay out of the Federation. (4) The people of Western Nigeria or Lagos would participate in the Ad hoc Constitutional Committee or any similar body only on the basis of absolute equality with other Region of the Federations.” Awolowo said Nigeria will cease to exist if Igbos are allowed to leave. What does that tell you? |

aswani:Well,Igbos have been living peacefully with other tribes and trading with them for centuries. It all started when the colonialists arrived Africa, while every other tribe submitted to them with little or no resistance. The colonialists met strong resistance in Igbo land, they met an Igbo people already advanced in development, with a decentralized government without monarchs who subjected their fellow men to dehumanizing treatment by making them bow to kings and prostrate for royalty. For the first time in Africa, they encountered a system of government built on equality where they expected to see savagery, an early form of democracy where every man had equal rights. This spirit of freedom and advancement was not permitted in Africa because it didn't serve the objectives of the colonialists and so it had to be completely crushed. The British employed every strategy, including divide-and-rule, vilification to weaken the Igbo. They deliberately placed intelligent Igbo men under the command of brain-dead puppets for easier control. The Igbo man asked questions, showed intelligence and dared to challenge the British Empire and for that, he was punished. The Biafran War was not the first war to be fought in Igbo land. The first great war was with the British army and it lasted for 35 years. The British only succeeded when they resorted to the slaughter of unarmed women, children and the elderly, forcing the men to finally surrender. No other tribe in Africa challenged the colonialists with such fierce resistance. And for that boldness, the Igbo had to be crushed. The British army, frustrated by this stubborn resistance, escalated the war killing women and children. They burned towns, destroyed shrines, desecrated sacred places and carried out massacres to break the spirit of the Igbos. Large bounties was placed on the heads of Igbo people and neighboring tribes were heavily rewarded for capturing Igbos. Unlike many other tribes who quickly submitted, the Igbo refused to bend. It took the British more than 30 years of bloodshed before they could finally claim control. From that moment, every Igbo person was seen as a threat to the colonialists agenda. Survival and opportunities for some Igbos often meant denying you are Igbo....a legacy that continues to this day. The colonialists set up a system designed to disadvantage the Igbo, to keep them controlled, weakened and contained. Then when oil was discovered in parts Igbo land, Britain and its allies knew the Igbo would use it to transform the nation, drive development and compete with world powers. To prevent that, they handed power to people they could easily manipulate and control. .....to be continued |

anonymous1759:It’s disgusting how some of you make bold false claims in arrogance. ![]() Even if you’ve never been to Benue state or read a single book in your life, common sense should tell you that since Benue State shares boundaries with two Southeastern states, there will naturally be Igbo communities whose positions place them within Benue’s territory. The fact that they find themselves in Benue State after does not erase their identity as Igbos. |
Jeje247:Don't misquote me. I know the difference between settlers, migrants and indigenes. All the places I mentioned have indigenous Igbo communities that have lived there for centuries. Igbos there are not settlers. Facts are facts no matter what you feel Google is your friend. |
Dakosta55:See the way you are very confident in ignorance. There are indigenous Igbos in Kogi state and it's not even a matter of debate. There are many Igala people who speak the Igbo language fluently and they have never set foot in the southeast before due to their interaction with the Igbos in Kogi state. Many people in Nigeria hv Igbo ancestry without even knowing it. You sef fit be Igbo |
gidgiddy: ![]() No mind am, He thinks empires are built with blocks and cement. He doesn't know that empires are built with brutal murders and rivers of the blood of thousands and millions of innocent lives |
creativejagaban:Not even tomorrow, today sef I'll disagree even with my mother if she tells me anything good will ever come out of Tinubu. He simply lack the capacity and he has cleared every doubt by failing completely in all aspects. |
chrisxxx: ![]() Very funny. The only reason you see minority tribes surrounding the Igbo is simply because the Igbo are not expansionist in nature. The Igbo remain the only major tribe in Nigeria that never fought wars to conquer minority tribes around them or seize their lands to expand any kingdom or empire. Igbos didn't brutally murder anyone in history to build any empire with the blood of innocent people. You can lie all you want, but the truth is staring you in the face. |
newmoney133:Places You'll find indigenous Igbos in Kogi state. Ibaji LGA....strongest Igbo presence Olamaboro LGA Bordering Enugu and Ebonyi....this area is also heavily Igbo in culture and language. Dekina LGA (Anyigba / Dekina area) Villages around the Nsukka–Kogi border contain small Igbo-speaking communities..communities like Aloma, Emewe, Adumu. Ankpa LGA Certain border villages towards Enugu have Igbo speaking communities recognized as indigenous....Enjema villages. Lokoja & Idah also have few urban Igbo quarters......While not Igbo-speaking in majority, both Lokoja and Idah town have indigenous Igbo quarters dating back to the 19th century, when Igbo traders, boatmen settled permanently. |
SonOfDSoil01:Your tears nearly full ocean ![]() |
creativejagaban:Being in APC doesn't stop him from being Igbo. Political affiliation is all about idealogy. Many of you wrongly attach tribe to politics |
Azazyel:See this one. Ned Nwoko is now IPOB sponsor because he's saying the truth that most of you don't want to hear ![]() Allow him to use us. Is it not better that one of us is using us?. For speaking up for all Igbos we will support him wholeheartedly |
anonymous1759:Where did you see Ivory coast in my post.? I am not talking about migration, Igbos are indigenous in all the places i mentioned. Google is your friend |
This so-called update is nothing but a shameful display of harassment and intimidation by the police. From he wants to perform a coronation and rule over Yorubas to he's planning to defraud people. Instead of focusing on real criminals terrorizing innocent Nigerians daily, they have chosen to parade an elderly man for merely expressing his cultural identity and having a legitimate business ambition. Since when did self-acclamation and having a nickname become a crime in Nigeria? Dragging a 65-year-old man, publicly humiliating him and labeling him a fraud even before any court ruling is a violation of his fundamental rights and a clear abuse of power. The police have no such authority . This is nothing but a witch-hunt designed to silence alternative voices and humiliate individuals of Igbo extraction in Lagos If the man truly defrauded anyone, let his accusers come forward in court—stop the media trial and stop oppressing citizens under the guise of maintaining order. Nigerians are tired of a police force that criminalizes ambition, while turning a blind eye to kidnappers, ritualists and corrupt politicians looting the country dry. The Lagos State Police Command must be reminded your duty is to protect lives and property, not to play politics of bigotry with people’s identity and dignity. |
donmixc:There are indigenous Igalas in Anambra state just as there are indigenous Igbos in Kogi state. State boundaries are man made |
