JuanDeDios: Customary law is only binding on natives who willingly subject themselves to it. Besides, no culture or custom, however couched, can supersede the constitutional right to dignity. They have no right to parade anyone who does not want to be paraded. No. By default, all natives are subject to customary laws unless they formally opt out which often leads to social ostracism within the community
You’re right, they have no right to parade or dehumanize the offender, as it violates his constitutional rights. Customary laws must operate within the bounds of statutory law.

When you live at a place, you should respect the culture. No, they have no right to "parade" him. He can sue them for that. Customary law is still law isn't it? |

codemaniacs: because your people always want to attack and burn the SW.. same way Nnam:di kanu told your people to attack different places in Lagos.
read below and you will understand more:
"According to a Nigerian Police Special Branch Report, nzeogwu executed at least 4 army and police security personnel including one of the men on his team (Sergeant Daramola Oyegoke). nzeogwu also participated in the execution of Col. Raph Shodeinde, his superior officer at the Nigerian Military Training College and is reported to have shot indiscriminately at fleeing women and children.."..
the statement above shows pure hatred for Yorubas and a lot of igbos all have this similar behavior towards Yorubas..
the aim of the Igbos like Azikiwe, Ironsi, Ojukwu e.t.c. was to control the revenue of other regions especially the western region ( Yoruba region ), that's one of the reasons why Ironsi abolished the regional system of government. Dragging up selective history to smear an entire ethnic group is lazy and dishonest. The 1966 coup was not an Igbo coup— it had participants from multiple ethnic groups, including Yorubas...IBB said so recently!
And let’s be real if Gowon, backed by selfish interests who were salivating over Igbo properties in Lagos, had implemented the Aburi Accord, there would have been no war. Do you know that Lagos State Government shamelessly stole all of Ojukwu’s father’s properties including the popular one in Queens drive saying they were abandoned property. It took a long legal battle before the court returned ownership to Ojukwu.
This same policy was applied in various parts of Nigeria, most notoriously in Rivers State and Lagos, targeting properties owned by Igbos who fled during the war. In Lagos, the state government and certain connected individuals took control of some of these assets, claiming they were “abandoned.” |

Factcheck0001: did supreme court release him? From this your question, it’s clear you have a limited understanding of how the judiciary operates. Once a matter is taken before any court, whether a Magistrate Court, Customary Court, High Court, or Industrial Court every order pronounced by the judge is binding on all parties involved, including the Federal Government of Nigeria and must be obeyed.
Also, the Supreme Court is primarily an Appeal Court and is prohibited by law from hearing cases involving an individual and the Federal Government. Cases like Nnamdi Kanu’s must originate in the lower courts.

They said he doesn't have any case at appeal court but should go n continue his case at supreme court.
U yourself know that nnamdi kanu is not having anything doing with appeal court again but now in supreme court but in your mischievous ways u will prefer to hold on to mediocre n leave d truth You are the mischievous one. The court of Appeal discharged and ordered the release of Nnamdi Kanu but the Federal Government behaved like a lawless rascal and didn't release him as ordered by the court. In law, a court order, whether you think is right or wrong remains binding and must be obeyed until it is set aside by a competent court.. Did the government obey the order to release Kanu? |

Popular Nollywood actor, Ime Bishop Umoh, a.k.a. Okon Lagos, has called on the Federal Government to release the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu.
He made the call in a recent episode of The Clarity Zone podcast, emphasising that the IPOB leader should be released in the interest of peace and national reconciliation, even if it doesn’t make legal sense.
He claimed that pardoning Kanu would be morally right, arguing that the IPOB leader’s agitation for Biafra’s secession was emotional and fuelled by the perceived marginalisation of the Igbos in Nigeria.
I am one million percent of the opinion that Nnamdi Kanu should be freed. Free him. It may not make legal sense depending on what they have claimed, that the evidences that have been put in the fore of the ‘crimes’ he has committed.
It [freeing Kanu] doesn’t need to make legal sense, but it makes moral common sense,” Umoh claimed.
His guest, Nedu Wazobia, asked: “How do you mean by it makes moral common sense?” Umoh replied: “It is morally right. Of course, he is a human being and he took emotional decisions, and emotional decisions are not right decisions. He felt that his people were being marginalised and he started agitating for Biafra’s secession.” https://dailypost.ng/2025/08/19/free-nnamdi-kanu-even-if-it-doesnt-make-legal-sense-actor-bishop-umoh-tells-tinubu-govt

Crime › Police Arrest Fake Eye Doctor In Akwa Ibom State by shortgun(op): 12:45pm On Aug 16, 2025 |
Operatives of the Akwa Ibom State Police Command have arrested a fake ophthalmologist, Gabriel Gideon, in the Nsit-Ubium Local Government Area for allegedly administering unapproved substances to hundreds of residents.
Police spokesperson, DSP Timfon John, said in a statement on Friday that Gideon was apprehended on Thursday, August 14, 2025, after a tip-off from concerned residents of Itu LGA, where he reportedly treated people with a concoction of olive oil, juice, and water.
The statement read, “A fake medical doctor who parades himself as an ophthalmologist has been arrested for allegedly administering a mixture of unapproved substances to hundreds of people in Ikot Akpan Itam, Ikot Abasi Itam, and Nung Ikot Itam in Itu LGA.
“On Thursday, August 14, 2025, at approximately 12:05 pm, operatives of the command received a tip from a concerned citizen regarding a man who was reportedly treating eye defects with unapproved substances.
[b]The suspect, identified as Gabriel Gideon from Nsit Ubium, was apprehended.”
According to the statement, the suspect, who confessed to not being a qualified eye doctor, allegedly gathered over 300 people in each of three villages — Ikot Akpan Itam, Ikot Abasi Itam, and Nung Ikot Itam — charging them N500 each for the so-called treatment.
A medical team from the Ministry of Health confirmed the substances were unapproved for medical use. https://punchng.com/police-nab-fake-eye-doctor/321

Even many tribes in Benin Republic even consider themselves as Yoruba .... I wonder how una they reason .... try to look for the meaning of Expansionist and force ... even some part of Nupe people want to be a Yoruba ... Maybe you’ve not read about the Yoruba Oyo Empire, one of West Africa’s most formidable pre-colonial empires. At its peak in the 18th century the empire expanded aggressively, conquering and taking over territories that stretched into the modern-day Togo and Benin Republic. Oyo only collapsed due to internal strife, Fulani jihadist invasions from the north in 1820s and notably, the abolition of the slave trade which disrupted its economy. |

He actually said in the speech “…but polluted with Yorubas…” what does that mean by he using the word pollute against an honorable tribe like Yoruba He means that the Yorubas are an expansionist ethnic group that has absorbed many neighboring minority tribes and imposed their culture on them through brutal conquests . This is why there are no significant populations of other ethnicities in Yoruba-dominated regions today. |
