Marrying Into a Family that's richer than you? Think Twice, Brother. That guy just made the biggest mistake of his life.
No matter how nice they smile, he’ll never be truly respected in that family. To them, he’s not the man their daughter should have married he’s the one she settled for. Behind closed doors, her parents are quietly disappointed and her father probably mocking him in silence.
The ugly truth is, when a man marries "up," he often sacrifices his dignity for comfort. Every small disagreement becomes a reminder of what he didn’t bring to the table. The power dynamic is off from day one.
My advice to men: Never marry into wealth thinking it’s a win. It often comes at the cost of your pride.
A man is nothing without his dignity and respect. Never trade that for fancy dinner tables and empty smiles.
sreamsense: There is no iota of truth in what you said. You are only looking for excuses to cover criminalities that are well exposed to the world. List the opportunities that successive government had denied you off. Out of 250+ tribes, it is only biafrans that are single handedly denied, right? Off course, you know you must be joking and making mockery of yourself for saying that. After all you called yourselves all billionaires and others are not. They even have brown roofs while you don't have single one.
How come those with brown roofs and 250plus other tribes you associated with poverty are not being caught in the web of criminality worldwide like biafrans? Successive government deniance is what make you go into baby factory businesses to sell your children and other children stolen, right? is it the same government deniance that make you to go into drug trafficking and spoil Nigeria name abroad on daily basis, right?
But when you find greener pastures you are looking for in another countries, what push you again into criminality or successive Nigeria government still follow you to India, Thailand etc to push you to criminality, right? You better stop covering up criminality so that Biafran leaders can quickly find lasting solution or why are your leaders running away from addressing it? Are they trying to cover up too instead of facing it once and for all by enacting law and joint enforcement that will put lasting solution.
Population of those serving jail abroad alone should be more than that of proposed "Adada" state, but yet you are still covering it up in this contemporary era of civilization and digitalization. Blow the trumpet of criminality around you, don't ever cover it up. Poverty or government neglect is never an excuse to lure you into criminality. For the fact that you even have money to travel abroad means you are better off than many millions from other tribes that are not committing crime
Your entire submission is built on stereotypes, misinformation and emotional outbursts, not facts.
Criminals exist in every tribe, every country, every race. Singling out Biafrans (which I assume you mean Igbo people) as if they have a monopoly on crime is not only false, it’s deeply prejudiced and intellectually lazy. Go and check prison statistics globally, you'd find Nigerians from various ethnic groups represented not just Igbos because crime is not tribal. Selective outrage shows bias, not justice.
Now, about your question: What opportunities were denied?
Let’s list a few: Systematic exclusion from key security and federal positions despite merit
No Major Oil and Gas Infrastructure is located in the east. NNPC headquarters in Abuja Oil companies headquarters are located in Lagos Main refineries are in Warri, Port Harcourt and Kaduna but none in the South-East. No functional depot or refinery in Igbo states, despite proximity to oil-rich areas. Igbos are cut off from direct access to oil sector wealth like exploration licenses, depot rights, downstream logistics.
Infrastructure Projects Railway...Lagos–Ibadan railway built. Abuja–Kaduna railway built. Kano–Maradi (Niger Republic) railway built. Yet, no federal railway project runs through the South-East. Roads in the South-East are some of the worst maintained, despite being economic corridors.
Deliberate underdevelopment of the South-East in infrastructure and federal projects.
You talk about Biafrans spoiling Nigeria’s name abroad yet ignore that it’s the same Biafrans who build businesses, excel in academics, dominate medicine, tech and engineering across the world. Why must your only contribution to global relevance be tribal jealousy?
AlphaTaikun: You are rambling on and criminally defaming the well-respected NTA veteran journalist, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa for saying what the whole media outlets in Nigeria and around the world had already published based on what the UAE Government had released to the public even BEFORE Abike Dabiri-Erewa spoke back then. The newly signed "Cybercrimes Act law is already in effect. I will NOT warn you again.
What she said was a repeat of the FACT and you are being highly IRRESPONSIBLE for even trying to accuse her of wrong doing!
Second, Asari Dokubo ALSO said in a video in 2023 that when he traveled to Vietnam and South Korea, he was asked whether he is Ibo. This is based on the FACT that many South East of Nigeria people were being arrested for crimes with Anambra State indigenes being in the majority.
Third, the SAME thing is going on in Ghana where South East of Nigeria people have been arrested for over 20 years and their names were fully published in the media. Even the recent armed robberies, kidnappings for ransom, hard drugs trafficking, human trafficking, products counterfeiting, money counterfeiting, are done by these elements from the South East of Nigeria. This is what finally triggered the protests in Ghana further compounded by the disrespectful activities of the fake Eze parading himself around.
The popular leading Ghanain opposition leader Dr. Hassan Ayariga who once lived and schooled in Nigeria himself said on live Ghana television that the South East of Nigeria people were causing problems in Ghana based on those arrested in the past. He bluntly said in the same viral video that the Yorubas and Hausas have been living in Ghana for centuries WITHOUT causing problems for Ghanaians till date and this is a historical FACT!
Hassan Ayariga was the one that led the series of recent protests against the crimes being commited and against this illegal Eze.
Massive EVIDENCE Right Below: 1] ALL 5 from South East of Nigeria arrested right BELOW minus one. https://www.myjoyonline.com/police-in-a-r-arrest-5-nigerians-1-ghanaian-for-attack-and-robbery-of-bank-customers/ According to the police commander, on Thursday, 19th June, 2025, around 10 am, the police successfully arrested three other suspects; Russell Ekenze, 29 years, a taxi driver, Francis Friday, 49 years, and Linus Agwazie, a 51-year-old trader.
DCOP Teye Cudjoe, in his press briefing, said that during their interrogation, the suspects confessed to being part of a large criminal syndicate.
"They admitted to carrying out similar thefts at several locations within Kumasi, including Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), Mayanka, Asokwa, Kumasi Central Mosque, ShopRite and Georgia Hotel area.
You are warning who? Take your scare tactics elsewhere. I dare you to do your worst.
All these long epistles are unnecessary. Abike Dabiri was appointed to protect the interests of all Nigerians and to project a positive image of Nigerians globally. There is nowhere else in the world where a government official would go on national television to condemn an entire ethnic group or blatantly accuse them of crimes, effectively setting them up for hate and attacks. She should resign immediately
AlphaTaikun: Watch the 2014 video BELOW of a Thailand Police investigator accusing South East of Nigeria people of being the BIGGEST CURSE to Nigeria and Africa. This isn't Abike Dabiri-Erewa speaking.
Tinder Swindler, Drugs or Football? Shows an I*o drug trafficker from the South East of Nigeria being interogated in 2014 by a Thailand Police investigator who in the Timestamp 5:00 bluntly called out the I*o tribe as the BIGGEST CURSE of Nigeria and Africa in 2014, because of their many relentless drug trafficking into Thailand.
Talk like this irritates me. Sometimes I wonder, what kind of education did you guys even receive?
Igbos are the most widely migrated ethnic group in Africa. Since they make up the largest number of African migrants, common sense should tell you that they will also statistically have a higher number of individuals involved in crime.... just by proportion! For every 12 disciples, there is always one Judas to betray. This is not to suggest that most Igbos are involved in crime! There is no ethnic group without criminals. What exactly is so difficult for you guys to understand?
The purpose of this post is to say that Abike Dabiri, a public servant, should resign for using her office to spread hate and promote bigotry.
sreamsense: Stop commiting crime and spoiling Nigeria name abroad. If you don't commit crime she will not have anything to report. Out of 250+ tribes in Nigeria, only one is too much and known with criminality. Don't cover criminality, report it, expose it. So that solution will be provided. All your covering since 1960 never solved this problem, change the tactics and expose criminality. There is no tribe without element of criminality, but Biafran own are too much at 99.99% and they even export it to the world. Other tribe don't do it daily, but biafrans over do their own to the extent no day goes without committing crime at local and international arena. She has not done bad, you are the one that should change for better, it is too much
The truth is that if successive governments had not systematically denied Igbo youths opportunities to thrive in the country, they wouldn’t be seeking greener pastures abroad where a few of them turn to crime.
Crime is part of every society. There are criminals in every ethnic group; in fact, there are even more criminals outside the Igbo tribe. So why single out the Igbos alone?
Anyone with basic education should know that if Igbos make up the largest population of Nigerians in a particular country, it is only natural that they would also be the highest in all statistics including crime, success, employment in that country.
If Abike Dabiri is not a bigot, she should publish the names and ethnicities of all Nigerians in Saudi Arabian prisons or London prisons.
SmartPolician: How come I don't see people saying that Soludo should be voted out for saying the same thing?
Why do you prefer to focus on the messenger instead of the message? If you are not embarrassed that Igbos go about pushing drugs around the world, you are most likely doing the same thing or benefiting from it.
You people must learn to condemn criminality in its entirety. I don't know what parents teach their children these days. Parents are terribly failing at parenting!
This is Soludo saying that 23 Anambra indigenes are on death row in Indonesia and nobody called for his head
This simply shows that you lack comprehension. How is what Soludo said the same as what Abike Dabiri is doing? Did Soludo say that people from Onitsha or Awka are responsible for most of the crimes in Anambra or in Indonesia? Did he say that people from Anambra State make up the highest number of inmates in Indonesian prisons? Did he single out a particular community and label all of them as criminals?
Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the current Chairperson of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), has consistently demonstrated ethnic bias and a lack of professional discretion, these traits disqualify her from holding such a sensitive and nationally symbolic office.
Her most recent actions singling out Igbos in connection with crimes committed abroad not only breach diplomatic decorum but appear to be a deliberate attempt to scapegoat an entire ethnic group, with potentially dangerous consequences for innocent Nigerians living overseas.
Dabiri-Erewa has made it a pattern to highlight crimes allegedly committed by Nigerians of Igbo descent, while deliberately ignoring or downplaying similar offenses committed by other Nigerians, particularly those from her ethnic group.
For instance, in 2023 she publicly named and shamed Igbos in Dubai involved in gang-related violence. She failed to provide full details, ignored due process and used inflammatory language that branded entire communities abroad with guilt by association. Yet, in the same Dubai Nigeria’s most notorious internet fraudster Ramon Abbas, also known as "Hushpuppi" was arrested by the FBI. Abike Dabiri-Erewa did not highlight his Yoruba ethnicity or use the incident to generalize about his ethnic group. Instead, she issued an official statement through the Commission "urging the public to refrain from stigmatizing Nigerians in the diaspora and emphasizing that the actions of a few should not tarnish the reputation of the majority".
"That statement described the arrest of Ramoni Igbalode (“Hushpuppi”) as no justification for generalizing about all Nigerians abroad or using the case as a basis for ethnic stereotyping".
When drug traffickers of other ethnic backgrounds were arrested in Saudi Arabia or when Nigerians were caught for internet fraud and other crimes in Malaysia, India or Indonesia Dabiri-Erewa either remained silent or issued vague, diplomatic statements, without drawing any attention to their ethnic identity.
Anyone with basic education should know that if Igbos make up the largest population of Nigerians in a particular country, it is only natural that they would also be the highest in all statistics including crime, success, employment..e.t.c in that country.
If Abike Dabiri is not a bigot, she should publish the names and ethnicities of all Nigerians in Saudi Arabian prisons or London prisons.
This pattern of selective outrage betrays a deep-seated bias and worsens ethnic divisions both at home and abroad.
As a public official, Abike Dabiri-Erewa holds a position that demands neutrality, tact and a commitment to national unity. She is expected to defend the interests of all Nigerians in the diaspora not inflame tribal tensions or exploit her office to score political points.
What she has done is not merely embarrassing it is dangerous. Her rhetoric will provoke hate, social stigma and even physical attacks against innocent Igbo Nigerians abroad many of whom are law-abiding professionals, students and entrepreneurs.
Abike Dabiri-Erewa has demonstrated that she is unfit to represent Nigerians in the diaspora especially when a significant portion of them can no longer trust her to advocate on their behalf without tribal bias.
She should resign or be removed from office immediately. Her continued presence only deepens Nigeria’s fragile divisions and reinforces the double standards that have hindered the nation’s unity and progress for decades
The woman Abike has shown herself to be a tribal bigot and lacks the discretion expected of a public official. As a representative of the government, there are certain things you simply must not say. You do not single out an entire ethnic group when addressing crime especially in foreign countries.
What she has done is incite hate, ridicule and potential attacks against the Igbo people living there including innocent ones. But it seems they must always find a way to please their master, the chief bigot in Aso Rock whose wife was once caught on video shamelessly expressing prejudice against Igbos.
If Igbos happen to make up 100% of Nigerians residing in a particular foreign country, wouldn't it be logical that any crime statistics involving Nigerians there would reflect that demographic?
Let’s not forget had the Nigerian government not systematically denied Igbo youths opportunities at home, they wouldn't be forced to seek greener pastures abroad where, a few of them end up committing crimes out of desperation.
helinues: Some of you current Peter Obi's supporters were still in secondary school when he was the governor of Anambra state.
The same Peter Obi who increased state tuition fee for education by 100%+ claiming education is not for the poor. Hahaha
1.Peter Obi won recognition as Best Governor by the MDGs Office ( and UNDP. He attracted major global development partners to the Anambra State. UNDP, UNICEF, World Bank, DFID, EU .
2.Peter Obi is first and only Nigerian Governor to Be Peer-Reviewed Under SPRM. He volunteered Anambra State to be the first and only state to undergo the State Peer Review Mechanism (SPRM) ...a governance assessment tool from the Nigeria Governors' Forum with support from DFID (UK).
No other governor formally subjected his administration to external scrutiny and accountability.
3.Under Peter Obi leadership, Anambra recorded no successful bank robberies in his last three years in office despite being a previously volatile state. He equipped every village, church, market and community with security vehicles. This feat was publicly acknowledged by the Inspector General of Police at the time.
4.Peter Obi remains the only governor who used his private car (a Peugeot 406) for official duties for 5 years and refused to take a state convoy.
5. Obi is the only governor who never collected security vote or pension for life.
As expected, all of Tinubu's paid supporters above are deliberately avoiding the question and employing deflection tactics, because failure collapses when critical questions are asked
bluepreek: Someone who couldn't achieve any tangible thing as the governor of small Anambra state for good 8 years has suddenly found the solution that's needed to solve all the problems of a complex country like Nigeria within 4 years . Honestly, obidients feast on gullibility and Peter obi is clearly taking full advantage of that
TimeManager: It's too easy to dream, easier to fathom, like a child driving a car with his mouth. By the tangled system under which the country operates, you can't do anything by mere paper policy until you get in there and discover it takes more than empty promises. Soludo would have turned Anambra to Dubai by now or Otti would have payed off outstanding salaries, even increased civil servants salaries threefolds the old payments. They now understand better being on the hot seat, electioneering is a different kettle of fish. The best way out is the constitutional process presently ongoing under the current administration. The President understands that a new constitution with the framework of a true federalism is the only panacea out of the status quo. And that's what the executive are determined to give to Nigerians very soon. Where every state can operate in a fair and equitable system.
-Kiss the truth!
But you Yoruba people were calling for Jonathan’s head when he was president. You called him clueless when a bag of rice was selling for 8k and a liter of fuel was selling for ₦87. Since when did you realize that governance takes more than promises? Why did you not know this or supported Jonathan?
stuffs2002: Obi is not going any where near the presidency
Us northerners were called all manner of derogatory names by the south east for donkey years. Now elections are around the corner, they want to sing a silly song wey not get meaning. We will make sure Peter Obi cries more than he cried in 2023.
cc Food4Thought ukukaegbu ClearFlair Tochi3 esnbrutality shortgun
See this one. Who are you threatening? Peter Obi becoming president will favor you too and everyone else. You can continue your suffering with incompetent people like Buhari and Tinubu
Putinofrussia: You dont sound like an educated person. Firstly,Tinubu has not borrowed the MTEF totalling $21.5 billion and the money will go to the FG,State govts and lgs. It has been approved but not taken. Read about MTEF to cure that ignorance.
Nigeria was borrowing money to pay for fuel subsidy and defending fx. When Buhari had problem borrowing,he printed 30 trillion naira, after he exhausted that, they use fuel to borrow money for 5 years. Meanwhile,ASUU went on strike for 8 months because there was no money to pay them, workers, pensioners, doctors etc were owed money, airlines were owed $7 billion, Nigeria and states were going bankrupt and a load of other ills. If it went on like that,it would have been worse than this and it might even end in another civil war. A lot of people were stealing the little oil we were producing...powerful people in govt and out of govt and their cohorts. It would be a battle for the fittest. Now,according to FITCH ratings,Poor's ratings,World Bank,IMF...Tinubu has grown the economy (but not felt by the masses ). Tinubu has paid off the $7billion,paid off IMF more than $3 billion he met on ground etc.
The pain we are going through is what is called transition pain that has eased than last year and it will get better. Rome was not built in a day. Go and write it down, before 2027,there will be prosperity for Nigerians. The key word is a little patience. For your information,Nigeria's fuel still remains one of the cheapest in Africa. Previous govts tied our lives to fuel, reason any little hike in price will seem as if the world is ending. That has stopped. Prosperity is here...soonest.
The United States of America's debt has ballooned to $36.7 trillion, and out of desperation, the U.S. Government is accepting donations from citizens to reduce its indebtedness. The United Kingdom is facing a debt crisis that has seen its budget deficit hit £20.7 billion, and its debt level is now the second highest on record. And the biggest economy in Europe, Germany, is grappling with a €118.8 billion budget deficit.
Meanwhile, in Nigeria, President Bola Tinubu has reduced our national debt from the $113.7 billion he inherited from General Buhari to $97.1 billion today.
This is even as he is building the two largest road infrastructure in Nigeria's history, the 1068 kilometre Illela-Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway, costing ₦13 trillion, and the 750 kilometre Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, priced at ₦15 trillion.
Yes, there are still challenges here and there, but Nigeria has made significant progress under Tinubu. And the world is noticing. This is why more countries are granting Nigeria's passport visa-free access, leading to the latest Henley Passport Index upgrading Nigeria's passport from the 97th strongest under General Buhari to the 88th most powerful passport on Earth today.
You are comparing Nigeria to the US, UK and Germany and you're telling me I'm not educated? What kind of education did you acquire that you weren't taught what a false equivalence is?
Do you even know that the US, UK and Germany you’re comparing Nigeria to are reserve currency nations? Do you even know what a reserve currency nation is? Nawaoo, nothing person no go see for this forum
Akinfemmy: Firstly, that rubbish i bolded is wrong as there laws that protect the indigene's right under the Land use Act.
Secondly, I truly hope all these you wrote exist in your head only and you don't truly believe it. You better wake up and face reality.
Attached is a section of the land use Act. The law that governs land ownership and administration in Nigeria. I maintain that ancestral lands are not backed by law...... Get a copy and read it for yourself. Also, get a copy of the 1999 Constitution
WizardOfNG: Their inferiority complex is pathetic. I always cringe reading their new and latest folly here because I know it is insecurity behind it..
Before AI, which throws up subjective and incorrect answers because it draws on human-supplied opinions in databases, did we not have definitive and undoubted expert methods an economist, for example, would use to determine strength/development of regional economies?
They will claim "superior intellect" yet be online talking like a bunch of Primary 2 school children attempting to discuss calculus.
This thing really pained you I always laugh at you guys who think south east is behind in development.
You are now fighting with AI for giving facts. How will AI getting resource from human input affect it's accuracy? Where do textbooks get inputs from? economic journals? and even your so-called “expert methods.”...it's still inputs from people!
The difference is that you dismiss facts not because they’re wrong but because they challenge your bias. I bet grok would have been right if it placed south east as the least developed region in Nigeria, abi
immaculatesense: No Obidient can answer this question: Why do America and developed nations of the West still borrow trillions of dollars? Oya answer.
Disclaimer: TINUBU did not borrow 180 trillion. Show us ur proof that he alone borrowed 180 trillion like u claimed. No Be Juju Be Dat?
One has to suffer multiple cognitive dissonance for engaging you guys. It's mentally exhausting. You mean after seeing all the links I posted you are still asking me for proof?
Akinfemmy: But no farmers will cry if you asked them to go back to their house, probably because they know there's no place like home. And if the farm belongs to someone else, you better respect the owners or be ready to face hostility
Problem is that most of you are very ignorant about the laws of Nigeria and the rights of every Nigerian citizen. No Nigerian is a host or a migrant in any part of Nigeria. Every Nigerian have the same rights and privileges as any other Nigerian in any part of Nigeria!
All resources, including land in any part of Nigeria belongs to all Nigerians irrespective of state of origin. No ethnic group owns any part of Nigeria, not even an inch! .....Ancestral land narrative is not backed by any law. This is the constitution of Nigeria This is how Nigeria is constituted Anything outside this amounts to illegality.
Predictor3: Where's your link to support your claims that $70bn has been borrowed by this government? Or it's just the nonsense you discuss in your ibo WhatsApp group
Always quick to insult but slow to research.
Here are links you asked for. I am very certain you will disappear from this thread as always.
Akinfemmy: It's you people that don't have peace. Honestly, you claim your land is better, yet you can't stay there. You even have to use AI for validation in a country you're living. I really don't know by what standards south east is better than south west but i do know if that were true, you lots won't be running away from there. It's just common sense.
This doesn’t make any sense at all. Using your logic, that means a farmer who leaves his house every day to go to the farm must hate his house and prefer the farm? That’s ridiculous.
People leave home to work, trade, explore opportunities. It doesn't mean the home is bad
Predictor3: Show us the evidence that he has borrowed more than the presidents before him
Obasanjo took Nigeria from $28 billion debt to $3 billion in 8 years. That's a president who fixed problems.
Tinubu in just 2 years has borrowed a staggering $70 billion and counting.
He even borrowed $800 million loan to "cushion" the effect of subsidy removal... the same subsidy removal we were supposed to save from and that was meant to reduce spending? If this isn’t madness, what is?
