Visa Alert! Visa Alert!!

I will try to make it short.
The journey started in early January 2022, I got an unconditional offer from university of Sunderland. I paid my deposit and ran my POF till February but they school wrote me that they couldn’t give me CAS after I called and sent very mails towards the end of February. They didn’t give any tangible reason.

I was disappointed and asked for a refund of my deposit. I was refunded after about 9 weeks but about $400 was missing from the money.
I went to bank and also contacted school but no resolution was reached. After all the back and forth I forfeited the money and started applying to other schools.

I got another offer from about 4 schools for September 2022 batch but I chose university of Derby. I paid the deposit on May 2022 and waiting for CAS. This time Derby disappointed a lot of people including me because of the surge in applications. They gave us option of refund or deferral to January 2023.

Out of anger I asked for a refund. When I calmed down, I decided to opt for the deferral since it was just 3 or 4 months away. So I wrote to them again to ignore the previous refund mail. Thank God I took that decision cos they wrote everyone that they would only give CAS to differed applicants and few new applications It was finally successful at the third attempt after running POF 3 times.

CAS - Nov 14
Visa Application - Nov 18
Biometric - Nov 25
No interview
No NSF
Collection mail - Nov 16
Pick up - Nov 16
BRP mail- Nov 18

God is too faithful. I want to encourage anyone still expectant to hold on and believe. It will surely end in praise. We shall all get to Youkay!!

Kagawa10:
Stupid lying attention seeking shit head of a thieving pastor. In one statement you said irrespective of whom you're voting? In another statement, you're convulsing because of your stupid hatred for Buhari. Lol.

Nigeria situation could be likened to a market woman who sells 20 number of corns at a rate of 110 naira per each daily. Years later, the market leaders eventually reduced and controlled the price at 50 naira. The market woman is still expected to sell same 20 number of corns but nothing higher than this. Tell me if the woman's income would increase or decrease? However, if the woman had saved enough when the corn was still priced at 110 naira, she wouldn't be affected by the fall in sales price, pending the time sale price would increase once again.

That's the situation of Nigeria today. When crude oil which is our main source of foreign revenue was selling at $110 per barrel for more than 5 years under Jonathan, Jonathan didn't save but looted us dry instead. We're suffering from this effect today now that crude oil has been selling at a poverty rate of $50 per barrel for the past 4 years under Buhari yet Buhari administration has had so many projects undertaken by him despite earning 60% less.

If only people knew what other oil countries such as Angola and Venezuela are passing through during this global crude oil price recess, they would thank God Buhari came in rather than Jonathan who looted us dry despite oil boom when crude oil was selling at $110 per barrel for five years unlike the paltry $50 it has been selling under APC. If the looting Jonathan couldn't save during the time of plenty and was already borrowing, how would he have carried on during this crude oil price recess?

Despite Buhari administration earning 60% less yet he's come up with plenty projects such as

Our railways at itakpewarri, Lagos-ibadan, Lagos-Abeokuta, kaduna-abuja etc,

The production of low cost fertilizers,

Zik maoseleum

Baro inland port,

Kaduna inland dry port,

Port Harcourt airline terminal,

Abuja airline terminal,

Rice mills,

Foreign reserve increase from $26b to $43b,

Construction of our express highways such as enuguonitsha, Lagos-ibadan etc.

Social policy schemes such as tradermoni, npower etc

Payment of all pensions of airline staffs that were forced to retire after the shambolic privatisation by Atiku. PDP didn't pay them in the last 16 years.

And most especially, stabilizing us through this recession which happened because jonathan failed to save despite earning 60% more than Buhari. Note that there's been a global fall in the price of crude oil from $110 per barrel in 5 years under Jonathan to a paltry $50 per barrel under Buhari administration yet Buhari was able to keep us afloat while having many projects to his name thereby surprising Ngozi Iweala and Charles Soludo who predicted recession because jonathan looted and failed to save during the time of plentiful.

Sai Baba. PDP, Neva again

Stop spamming every tread with is your misguided quote.

GMB provided rice Mills?? Then why is rice so expensive?
It's even triple the price it was before his administration.

He increased foreign reserve?? Then why is he borrowing from millions of dollars from China?what happened to the allegedly recovered loot?

He constructed express ways and railways? Are we supposed to be excited about the basic amenities??

Romance / 8 Things Ladies Do That Make Guys Lose Respect For Them by shugarken(m): 10:36pm On Feb 02, 2016
1. Quarrelsome attitude
some ladies can be so quarrelsome that they are always exchanging words with neighbours, market women, even siblings. This is so bad that sometimes whenever they go out with their guys, there is always a high probability of them picking quarrels over frivolities with the cabman or gateman. Some of the ladies don't hesitate to dish out a generous dose of verbal abuse to their guys even in the open. You can imagine winking at your girl to calm down and eventually dragging her away with her struggling and shouting on top of her voice.

2. Stinginess
Some ladies have never given a gift to their guys for once. You can use this coming valentine as case study. All the ladies are expecting gifts and some would frown, nag and complain if the gifts are not expensive enough and some go as far as ending the relationship if they get nothing. But when you examine them closely, you will discover some of them are planning to buy handkerchief and singlet. Ladies get a good gift for your man often, it won't kill you.

3. Chronic borrowers
some ladies virtually owe almost everybody they come across, from the hair dresser to the food vendor to the cloth seller. They borrow from friends, colleagues and neighbours with no intention of paying back. They keep giving excuses and dodging till the debtors lose hope. When you go through text messages of this ladies, you will see all manner of threats from different people. Some of the lenders trace their office or house and disgrace them or forcefully carry their properties while others approach their man and demand fro their money and often embarrass the man in the process.

4. Untidiness
some ladies are so unkempt that their rooms are unkempt. Come into their rooms and you will see their bra and panties of different colours scattered all over the house, strands of hair from their weavon littered everywhere, make-up and Nigerian films on the floor. Some of their hair nets smell so much that you can imagine how the hair itself smells. Imagine a scenario where a lady pulls her panties and a foul odour oozes out and keeps smelling hours after the lady had left.

5. Non-independent ladies
some ladies rarely do anything or buy anything for themselves unless a guy does that. It's nice to get attention and receive gifts or help but ladies should not make it a habit to depend on guys to do everything for them. You can imagine where a lady will never call her guy....always flashing. They manage to call only when they want to demand for something. You will see a lady that has never subscribed for data by herself ( I can remember those days a lady will update, "BIS about to expire" on her pm). I can understand the situation of someone being broke but I know most of these ladies have plenty money cooling in their account. Ladies surprise your guys by cooking with your own money for once. Don't wait for him to come back and give you N500 when you have thousands in your purse.

6. Incessant Lying
some ladies lie so often that you don't know when they are serious anymore. Some exaggerate their background and wealth of their parents, prices of their personal belongings just to feel among. Imagine a lady boasting she doesn't eat anyhow only for you to jam her in a local buka or she brags that she only shops in boutiques and wears just designers and you sight her at a popular bend down select. Some lie that they are virgins and some even lie that they are pregnant just to extort money from their guys. Ladies try and be real and natural and the guys will appreciate you for that.

7. Terrible cooks
I once heard a story of a newly married wife that would collect money from the husband in the pretext of cooking food only for her to buy a full pot of soup or stew from a restaurant and present to the husband when he returns from work. This went on for a while till her husband found out. This goes out to all this fastfood ladies that can barely prepare a decent jellof rice or even indomie noodles. Men will respect you more when you know your onions in the kitchen. Imagine when your guy refusing food on occasions or when he hangs out with friends because he knows you always prepare something special.

8. Poor dressers
To the ladies, you have to have at least an average dress sense. Some of you wonder why your guys don't take you out at all or take you out only at nights. A guy might love you for other qualities but detest the way you dress. Some ladies look like a masquerade after applying heavy and make-up. Some wear dirty clothes and cover up with heavy perfume. Some always wear one outfit or footwear because it looks fine on them while others don't mix colours well.
When you have a good dress sense, your guys will always show you off, go everywhere with you and introduce you to everybody. Even casual and female friends will be proud to be associated with you because you are always representing.

Politics / "Four People That Could Tear Nigeria Apart In 2016" - GreenNews.Ng by shugarken(m): 9:03am On Jan 24, 2016
Nigeria is at a crucial point in her history as the new administration of President Muhammadu Buhari battles head-long the hydra-headed monster called corruption to restore sanity to her finances in these trying times of the country’s economic life when oil, the main revenue source,  has practically lost all its value.

But there are four people that could send all efforts down the drain this year through their controversial activities in parts of the country. These people are, in their different ways, contributing to the undermining of the unity of the country through their various actions in different regions of the country. They are battling for the soul of Nigeria with the central government at the expense of millions of citizens who just want an opportunity to live their lives peacefully.

Nnamdi Kanu

Of all the people on this list, leading member of the group Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and founder of Biafra Radio in London, Nnamdi Kanu is probably the most influential at the moment. Kanu, who is already in the court for treason under the watchful eyes of the Department of State Security (DSS), currently holds sway in practically all of the South East region and has numerous followers abroad.

The political activist is on this list of the dangerous ones to Nigeria’s unity because he is trying to reenact the series of events that led to the Civil War of 1967 to 1970 that nearly tore Nigeria apart.

Kanu is calling for the people of the South East to mobilize and fight for the creation of the state of Biafra. Kanu argues that the Igbos are not properly catered for by the federal government.

To achieve this, he joined IPOB and founded the highly controversial Biafra Radio at his London base, from where he broadcasted messages which the government says are inciting and treasonous to all parts of the South Eastern region and some parts of the South South. He was arrested in 2015 while on one of his brief trips to Nigeria. He has since remained in DSS custody while being arraigned in court.

In spite of being in jail, Kanu has continued to influence the continuous call for the state of Biafra and currently, not a single week goes by in the South East without a protest march in support of Kanu’s claim. While at the moment the protesters have been peaceful and recorded cases of deaths occurred only when security forces attacked them, the agitation clearly is on the rise in the South East as Nigerian leaders wonder what to do, and anything could worsen the situation.

Sheik Ibrahim El-Zakzaky

Leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), Ibrahim El-Zakzaky is another individual with his finger practically on the trigger. El-Zakzaky was the one who introduced the Shia Muslim practice into the country from Iran over 30 years ago. Before then, Nigeria had only Sunni Muslims.

The Sheik controls a chunk of the Muslim population in the north and is so influential that his religious procession or convoy has right of way above anyone. He could not even be controlled by law enforcement agencies. Residents of Kaduna State where El-Zakzaky has his abode told stories of an oppressive theocracy imposed on them by the religious leader.

“Every resident of Zaria is affected directly or indirectly by the self-acclaimed powers and disregard for traffic rules by the Shi’ite members in Zaria, especially when it comes to the use of public roads. These Shi’ite members consider any other person as a second class citizen who has no rights and privileges.

“These boys traumatised and brutally dealt with anybody while El-Zakzaky was on transit. Complaints to police at different times did not yield any result. I am from Gyallesu area, before now we lived just like prisoners who have no right to live a life worthy of human living.

“When El-Zakzaky was in Gyallesu, the area became a home to all kinds of criminals because his boys did not allow uniform personnel into the area, no matter the level of crime committed. These boys used to search anybody that is coming into the area irrespective of his or her status.

“Again, once they lock up the gates at night you have no right to go out for whatever reason. The kind of loyalty these boys accorded El-Zakzaky was second to none.

“They see him as a messiah. They neither have respect for constitution nor any constituted authority. His instruction is the final,” coordinator of Peace Initiative Forum, Mu’izzu Daruddeen revealed in a statement.

Although at the moment, El-Zakzaky’s whereabouts are unknown after he was bundled away by military men following a recent face-off between Shiite Muslim members and men of the Nigerian Army which left hundreds dead, his followers wait for his return patiently.

With no fewer than five of his sons allegedly killed in clashes between the sect and the Army in the last three years and him (El-Zakzaky) still missing, it is quite worrisome just to imagine what this situation could degenerate into in the light of how insurgent group, Boko Haram became violent after the extra judicial killing of their leader, Mohammed Yusuf.

The fact that the Sheik has a direct link to Iran which is notorious for sponsoring proxy wars and terrorist organizations on foreign soil does not help matters.

Tompolo (Government Ekpemupolo)

A quick search of this code name on the internet reveals that the occupation of Government Ekpemupolo (as he was born) is guerilla fighter and it is doubtful if there is any informed Nigerian who does not know Tompolo, the Niger Delta militant who once ruled the days (and nights) of the South South region.

Before the Niger Delta Amnesty Programme, the name ‘Tompolo’ drove fear into the hearts of many as he and his cohorts terrorized the creeks of the South-South region, blowing up oil pipelines daily and creating a thriving oil bunkering business from the ‘loot’ at the expense of millions of Nigerians. The amnesty programme, which was orchestrated by immediate past president Goodluck Jonathan when he was a vice president and signed by the late president, Umar Musa Yar’Adua, made Tompolo a very rich militant.

Through the programme, Tompolo and his ilk got mouth-watering contracts from the government of Yar’Adua and then Jonathan that ran into billions of naira. However, recent investigations by the Buhari administration alleged that the contracts were ill-gotten gains that have run the country’s treasury dry. But Tompolo has refused to see the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) or show up in court, thereby forcing the presiding judge on is case at a Federal High Court in Lagos, Justice Ibrahim Buba to issue a bench warrant for his arrest.

Crying ‘witch-hunt’, Tompolo has threatened war with the Federal Government and vowed not to obey the court. He has already barricaded himself in at the creeks and has allegedly begun blowing up pipelines again to bring the government to its knees. Armed with more money than ever to procure even more weapons than before, Tompolo could pose a real danger to Nigeria quickly should the situation deteriorate any further in the South South.

With oil now selling at around $27 per barrel and the naira exchanging for over 300 to the dollar, the last thing Nigerians need is for things to get out of hand again in that region.

President Muhammadu Buhari

Also making the list is none other than Nigeria’s number one citizen, President Muhammadu Buhari. He is on this list only by virtue of the fact that he is the leader of the country and his actions or inactions could push Nigeria over the brink or save it from the impending disaster these people earlier mentioned pose to our unity.

The president’s manner of handling these people could go a long way to determine if the situation would be escalated into a national catastrophe or doused, buried and forgotten.

Sincerely, the president is in the unenviable position of balancing the tripartite of dispensing of justice, obeying the rule of law and managing the expectations of the international community to which these controversial figures have heavy links.

What this means is that while the president is trying to keep Nigeria one (a task that must be done), he has to ensure that the rights of these men are protected while also figuring out a way to take the wind out the sail of their agitations which could get violent within the twinkle of an eye. And he must do all these to the satisfaction of the international community, some of whom have relationships with this men and are already biased in their views.

For instance, Nnamdi Kanu is both Nigerian and British and the UK has already expressed reservations over his detention. (Remember that his Radio Biafra is based in London). El-Zakzaky has Iran’s backing because he preaches their type of religion, Shia Islam. (Iran has already warned the president to be careful on the issue of the Sheik). Tompolo has links abroad through which he buys his weapons, the kinds that only sovereign governments know how to get. And the president has to handle them all, and perfectly too.

With how big some of these agitations are getting, the bubble could bust soon and the president will be at the centre of it all – a very unenviable position.

Politics / Imo Workers Defy Rochas...says He Can't Sack Them Mid-month Without Salary And A by shugarken(m): 9:47am On Jan 20, 2016
Workers in 19 parastatal agencies and departments in Imo reported for duties, defying the directive by the state government that they should to handover and stop work.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that Governor Rochas Okorocha had, in a statement on Sunday, announced the sack of staffers of the organisations.
When NAN correspondent visited offices of some of the organisations in Owerri on Tuesday, some of the workers were seen at their duty posts attending to visitors, while some were discussing the development in groups.

The offices visited were Imo Water Corporation near Standard, Sports Council, Owerri, and Imo State Environmental Transformation Commission.
Others were Imo Marketing Company located at Old Secretariat, Orlu Road Owerri, and Agricultural Development Programme (ADP), near NOA Office on Okigwe Road.
Some of the workers told NAN that they had yet to be served with any disengagement letters.
"I was issued employment letter by the state government when I was engaged by the state as a staff of ADP and it will be administratively wrong for me to stop work because of what somebody said he heard on radio.
"If the person who made the announcement is informed of the workings of the civil service, he should issue a sack letter to me and until that is done I will continue to report for duties,’’ Mr Uzochukwu Chukwuka, said.
Mrs Amaka Adigwe, a staff of Imo marketing company, described the action was fraudulent.
"When I heard the radio announcement that we have been sacked, I knew that some people were hatching fraud because you cannot sack a worker mid-month without paying his or her salary.
"So, for the state government to claim that our salaries have been stopped since Jan. 4 when we have worked from the beginning of the month till Jan.17 without committing any punishable offence shows those behind the plot had failed," Adigwe said.
Meanwhile, Mr Austin Chilakpu, the state Chairman of Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), in a reaction, told NAN that the leadership of the union was shocked to hear the radio announcement.
"Thank God all of you were around last Wednesday when Gov. Okorocha told the NLC president that it was falsehood that the government was planning to sack Imo workers.
"We have looked at the way and manner the announcement was made and have directed workers not to obey such a directive because you cannot sack government workers without observing the rules.’’
