Expanding which political base.

In case you are still massively deceiving yourself, 2019 elections, esp the Presidential, was a major setback for Tinubu.

APC lost Oyo and Ondo. Only narrowly won in Osun(less than 10k votes), a state that may go PDP after the court case by the way. And even in his own very Lagos base, Atiku almost won him if not for the emergency rigging that gave Buhari a slight margin.

The North remembers by the way. They have taken note

Even you who hates Buhari and the north more than ekwensu has suddenly become a slave to the north by helping them to remember? Just because of your obsession over one man who holds no political office?

Hope you'll also help the north remember that they're losing Kano, Bauchi, Sokoto, Adamawa to Atiku's party too?

Any PDP won state is not a problem
Any APC won state is rigged.
This is how we reason.

Don't mind the hateful mumu. It's obvious arithmetic is a very difficult subject for him. See the results breakdown below

No. of registered voters: 3,946,309; accredited voters: 1,936,800; valid votes cast: 1,889,714; rejected votes: 31,515; total votes cast: 1,921,229

One of the many wonders of INEC and APC in Kaduna State:

Accredited Voters: 1,428,895
APC: 1,044,710
PDP: 815,168

Total - 1,858,875.

Now, from the above, void votes are not recorded, the votes of the minor parties are not recorded yet, INEC has a super rising figure above the accredited votes after the end of the election.

Buharig only came to steal, to kill and to destroy.

Nothing is more corrupt than rigging of elections and no man is more corrupt than being a rigger. Buharig is too corrupt.
Nigeria is in a sorry State.

Akpabio worked, he did roads and built a lot of infrastructure but he also engaged in white elephant projects and made the state to be indebted after fleecing the state with reckless abandon.

Udom engaged himself with industrialisation, he saw to the Establishment of toothpick industry, syringe industry (largest in Africa), Ibom Air, metering industry, plastic industry, Rice and other agro sectors. Udom built more votes infrastructure from roads, hospitals etc than Akpabio but made less noise or no noise at all about his achievement. Most importantly, Udom give all credit to God while Akpabio gave himself the credit and started seeing his works as that of a deity. More so, Udom doesn't engage in using thugs to control Akwa Ibom state unlike Akpabio, whose tenure was characterised by thuggery and brigandage.

Akpabio opened the eyes of Akwa Ibom people but he believes that it is only with him that the state can progress. Udom showed Akwa Ibomites that anyone can perform in the state if he is sincere and has the fear of God.

Hmmmm......can't argue with that.

This election showed people power in a lot of states. Despite the violence, majority of results were the voice of the people. Politicians were taught a lesson and it's good for the country

Kwara was a brutal counter by apc. I never believed Otoge could gain that much traction but, it did. We move on lessons learnt dynasties rise and fall. That was the fall of Saraki dynasty.

In fact, the moment apc scored that devastating counter, I begin to see a buhari victory.

I am not a kid that is after bragging right not at this age. I am even helping to calm many who got edgy with the presidential election. Saraki losing kwara was like in a Madrid Vs barca match, Madrid losing Cr7!

Kudos to you for this brutal honesty.

I too, even though I supported o to ge, I didn't think it could be that devastating. It's the same way I underestimated the Ibadan people's anger against Ajimobi and APC. I never thought Adelabu could lose but I'm happy he did. Oyo people showed that they're in charge

Great post. Beyond Party, religious and ethnic affiliation, we must all respect the democratic will of the people. As a staunch APC man I was not unhappy we lost Oyo because Ajimobi is terrible and a failure who gave the people no option but to reject APC because of his abject second-term failing.

Let the PDP Governor perform , if his Party will allow him, and shame Ajimobi and APC. Don't disregard the people for years and then show up in 4 years to seek their votes. I am ecstatic Ajimobi is not going to the Senate as well. He is what we call a waste man.

Don't deliver for the people , as a politician, and you leave regardless of who you are. That should be the message that will produce a progressive Nigeria.

Exactly. Ajimobi wasted his opportunity to be a grand elder statesman in Oyo state and Yoruba land as a whole and since APC is his party, collateral damages came it's way as a result.

I hope Seyi Makinde performs. He's a bonafide Ibadan man and his success as a governor will be for the good of the state and Ìlè Oodúà as a whole

Buhari's 12 million votes was from the entire country. Saraki's 68k votes was just from a senetorial district of his state. If he had contested for presidency like Buhari he wouldn't have got only 68k votes. His votes would have been in millions as well.

Oh, he actually did contest a national primaries and he got less than 200 votes. Maybe you can help him add it to the 68k. It should get him close to 69k which is not too far from 12m votes I guess

Saraki a medical doctor, a former presidential aide, a two term governor, a two term senator, a Senate president till June. Who is your FATHER?

You consider him a failure, others consider him a hero and life goes on

Congratulations that you consider him a hero.

If he isn't coming back, good for him and the country as he'll finally practice his medicine.

However, if he plans on making a comeback, those 68k votes are vital. He shouldn't lose them

There is one thing I don't always rule out in politics, POSSIBILITIES

That's why I'm advising you to tell Bukola to use his 68k votes as the foundation for his comeback just as Buhari used his 12m votes.

Truly Ajimobi tried for Oyo state. I'll always be grateful for the work he did in the area of security and how he put the miscreants at Bay.

However his rise and fall is a lesson that no matter your achievements, attitude is important. Excellent human relations skills are vital in life. Ajimobi lacked regard for people and that was his Achilles heels.

I hope Seyi Makinde doesn't allow the remnants of the Adedibu thugs to re-emerge from wherever Ajimobi chased them to.

Be honest: we hate them about as much as they hate us.

And that, Sir, is the problem. Is hate necessary? How does that make us feel better at night?

Can any christian or muslim honestly refer to their Holy Books and show us where God says you should hate the opposite?

In our blind hatred we even refused to accept that our religions have a lot more in common than differences.

Muslims adore Jesus (ISA PBUH) and cannot mention his name without honoring it, Mary has a whole chapter in the Quran, Abraham, Moses, Noah, John the Baptist....they're all in the Quran.

The Bible is the second most holy book in islam (the "Injeel", or Gospel) then the Taurah (old testament).

So what the heck are we even fighting for?

If we insist on hating, shouldn't we get together and collectively hate Buddhists and Hindus, whose religion is nothing like the Abrahamaic religion?

This is the kind of confusion where christians think they've more in common with Judaism, who don't believe in Jesus, than Muslims, who do but with the caveat that he's a revered messenger of God of the immaculate conception.

Look, there's very little empirical, scientific, and hard evidence that either god exists, so we might just be wasting our time, who knows? But if we chose to believe in something, it is our right and we shouldn't be hated for it.

I dont like the sentiments of Southern kaduna christians, i dont like the way igbos are insulting us, i don't like the way the yorubas are so condescending to our intelligence by seeing us as a giant writhing mass of illiteracy and decrepitude....but i certainly dont hate their faith.

The point is, we all hate each other, and until we confront that hatred and stop spreading it, we're all doomed to fail.

I remember when things were not this bad and we loved our neighbors no matter their faith....i'm nostalgic for that reality...

...I don't want to be in fear when I visit Jos or Numan,

cheesy cheesy @the bold. That's what Christians and Muslims don't know. Infact, I am sure that both religions are worshipping imaginary deities unfortunately which were forced down their throats by foreigners. Yet they hate and kill each other for it.

It's bad enough that we hate ourselves because of tribes we had no say in how we found ourselves there but you can at least make an informed choice about the imaginary sky daddy you devote your life to? Can't you see that it's all a means of control?

Why hate your neighbor because of a god you were forced to accept at the point of slavery?

I think it's not ever going to be easy to pin the blames. Both sides play politics of religion, and they'll always do.

I'm a fulani muslim, but even I have misgivings with the choices of El Rufai. Now, I know a great deal of southern kaduna christians hate muslims mostly because the hate is mutual and largely because of a feeling of isolation. But a leader is supposed to rise above such petty sentiments and be a leader to all. No one in the history of kaduna has shown such blatant prejudice to faith than El Rufai.

It's his right to pick his vice, but politics is all about compromise; what's the harm if his deputy was a christian to appease the SOKAPU people so they feel some sense of belonging? How would that diminish his capacity to lead, given deputies are always just necessary baggage who really do nothing?

Also Rufai's utterances are quite unbecoming. The man has no business being in politics given his proclivity for saying things that worsen situations. No one in kaduna, muslim or christian, is happy with crises, because in conflagrations all lose.

Of course, the christian community is also not helping, given the pronouncements of some of their pastors recently. They say provocative things and make enemies of every single muslim, thereby exacerbating the divide.

Every single institution that ordinarily should imbue sanity in the society has failed: the politicians, the clergy, the legislature, the judiciary, the academics, parents, the youths..everyone has failed....

so who do you really blame?

Your chosen deity?

You're a rare gem. May whatever you serve bless you. I wish El Rufai will see this post of yours and act accordingly.

El Rufai is an excellent administrator but a terrible politician. He should do better. He did more than Buhari to turn folks against APC, not just in kaduna but all over the country. If he's thinking of VP and possibly president, then he needs to improve in inter faith and inter ethnic relations

Ajimobi did excellently well in his first term. He embarked on infrastructural development and his works are enduring. Before he came, Oyo was in the grip of robbery, criminality, hooliganism etc. Your land could be taken from you by the political thugs and nothing would happen. Ajimobi ended all that. He didn't believe in relating with thugs and hooligans in the name of grassroots politics.

It has it's good sides but it also made him appear very arrogant and indeed he is. He disrespected traditional and religious institutions at will. In fact some think he's an atheist and only maintains his Muslim name and identity because of politics.

His wickedness in demolishing the radio station of Yinka Ayefele was unforgivable. A crippled man who by dint of hardwork and perseverance through thick and thin built a radio station from his music career then Ajimobi wakes up.one Sunday and demolishes the building despite a court order because the man allows PDP to abuse him on the station!! That I think was the last straw that destroyed his standing with people. Even the roads he's fixing didn't help. Every body just wanted to see him and all he's associated with disgraced.

The APC leaders didn't know how bad it was until too late. The reconciliation tour was too little too late.

Ajimobi has himself to blame. He did well as governor but his human relations was a disaster. I hope he retires quietly to the street he bought at oluyole and leave Seyi Makinde to run his govt if those ones godfathers will allow him.

Adelabu is still young and should get ready for 2023 when ibadan will be ready to change the governor again as they normally do.

"Won ma n pemi lojuyobo, e gbo, shey oju eleyi jobo" They all started laughing

I heard how he frequently visit his mother in Lagos Island and plays with all the area boys

One thing is when you are in a high position, always be nice to people way below you. They already expect you to be proud and arrogant, by being so nice and meeting them on their level, they will respect you extra

And one thing, those type of people are more loyal than the rich folks

I am from Oyo State, I support APC but I am also glad Ajimobi lost. His arrogance was out of this world, he speaks like he is doing people a favour by being governor

I hope Seyi succeeds as it will benefit us all. I hope he doesnt go back to the pattern of PDP in Oyo of old

The bold is my only worry. In fairness to Ajimobi, he dealt decisively with criminality and the bad boys just like Amaechi did for us in PH. Ajimobi spent a lot on security and it showed. He saved Oyo from the brigandage of PDP and their henchmen.

I just hope PDP's return won't bring back crime and violence as we've witnessed this election cycle

It's a lesson I applied at my first place of work after graduation and till today, years after leaving there, I still benefit from it. There's nothing like the loyalty of guys at the lower rungs. Nothing as pure
