1st congrats for having that mindset and eagerness to give it a go.

Allied health is a very good course option to pursue. OT and Speech therapists are sort after in Australia.

Studying in a regional area will definitely boost your chances of PR.

25M should be fine for tuition for a trimester, medicals, OSHC. You should aim to get scholarship. My brother got scholarship that dropped his tuition from $17K to $12K.

Your dad's friend as a sponsor? While I am not 100% sure, I believe there should be a way around it.

I wish you all the best.

Lovebeam:
Good day, everyone
I'm so distressed right now, and any clarity I could get will go a long way.

My profile
Education: Bsc Physiology(Second Class upper)
Age: Currently 25, turning 26 in a few months.
Financial capacity in view: let's say about 25 million naira, I can work for more, God willing.

I want to consider the study pathway to Australia.

I've made a series of research, and I think I'm going insane at this point🥲🥹

1. I want an affordable university where I can study an allied health program(this decision is for long term purpose), good course recommendations will be highly appreciated 🙏
I researched on Occupational Therapy, and speech pathology, and they seem to be a really competitive course.
I'm not sure of the prospects. Psychotherapy has.
2. I don't have families that are well to do for them to stand as my sponsor as I myself do not have 75 million naira(I saw in this thread) in my account to show as proof of funds, but my dad's childhood friend has offered to stand in as my sponsor, but how do I proof relationship?🥲
3. I think I want to study at a regional university to help me claim points during the PR application, which universities can you people please recommend?(I know that this answer is vague, I'm in so much distress🥹)

4. Does anyone think my 25 million naira budget can pay my tuition deposit +OSHC+Visa fee+bio metric+medicals?
I can look around for the travel expenses if my visa gets approved, I pray so.

I don't even know what I'm asking anymore😔

I should note that I tried applying for studies in Europe last year but got refused, its not a rejection as my school deferred my admission until this year September, so the immigration deemed it as incomplete application, closed it temporarily to continue when I apply for this intake, I do not plan on reapplying as I can not provide internship documents as the reason my application was not considered.
There's no visa rejection in my history.

Please, just advise me as your own and direct me 🙏🙏

Cool, I understand what you mean.

To give you useful guidance, it would help to know where you are on the journey right now.
Have you started learning already ? If yes , what topics are you currently on ?
Ok.. I have been on a start and stop journey in devops. Probably because I have been going like a sheep without direction. I have completed Linux, shell scripting and Jenkins last year and left it for a long time. I have just started afresh again to study Linux, shell scripting. Then I left it again and started working on projects because its making more sense to me to see what I am learning in action. I have a certification in cloud practitioner and solutions architect in 2024, just yesterday I decided, I switched again and decided to work on cloud engineering projects just to get enough experience to get a cloud engineering job and continue my devops.

I am literally looking for a mentor to guide me. So I am confident I am not beating around the bush, just want to know what I need to know to get ahead if you know what I mean

Thanks for the post.
I noticed this visa was granted within a month as opposed to the usual 2months for many others.
Pleas, are u implying that u cant move into Aussie on student visa until about 28days before your school resumption?
For instance, if I have a visa for November, can't I move in July?
Hi sorry been away from here for a while. I would say it will depend on instructions from school. usually you can enter 3 months prior to your commencement date I think (not sure) but In this case, the school specifically advised 28 days prior to resumption.

Hi guys.
My friend applied for her visa on the 26th of may and got her grant on 27th of July. However the school asked her to defer her admission till next intake on or before 24th of July, which she did. Now the problem is, she got her visa with her old COE, and is yet to receive a new COE because of the school is taking time. What would you guys suggest she does or perhaps as anyone faced this scenario before.
she has to upload her new COE when she receives it.

Please can someone help me with a list of Australian universities that ONLY accept applications through an agent and would accept 2:2 in masters and publications for a PhD program?

Please note that I know how to apply on my own and I am already doing that with other universities. Also I have an agent that I am going to be working with. I am only doing this to improve/ spread my chances.

Thank you.
Well try your best on this. also look into masters by research if you need to leave asap. usually tricky with getting a phd program. I had to go for MSc research during my time as it was taking time to get the PHD program I wanted. Actually that was 7 years ago so something might have changed though.

please do i need IELTS to apply for MSc in in James Cook? Please I need assistance I wana start applying
Go to James Cook uni website. look for the course you want to study and look up the requirements or pre-requisites.
95% of the times you will need ielts to get an admission unless.you can proof that you studied your bachelors in english and mostly from an English speaking country like UK. they also ask for a proof... like a letter from the school.
TravelRe: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by shyboy187: 9:20pm On Jul 27, 2023
Hey Guys!!!

My student visa is finally out. sorry I meant my younger brother's visa lol.

Applied on May 24th
Not sure when biometrics/medicals were completed.
But Visa came out June 27th. However, school was meant to start 21st July at the latest, so he had to defer to next trimester. So I reckon he will have to wait and come in 28 days before his new resumption date.

I will come here from time to time to answer any question around school, arriving Australia and general living in australia questions.

Wish you all the best outcomes in your pursuits.

Cheers

Can I work and school as MSc student in Australia? How is the fees paid? Do I need to oay a deposit before Cas as it is done in the uk? Please someone help explaining for me, I am fed up of Naija
usually you pay your full fees for one semester before you get your COE (similar to CAS in UK).
You have 48hours per fortnight to work although most students default on that which "might" hunt them in future (like when they want to apply for post study visa or if they fail a course or performing below par, then school might start tracing what's wrong, could the student be overworking and not having time for studies?).

The fees are usually between $12000 to $17000 per semester depending on the university.

hopefully that helps....

I wrote to my school international admissions concerning deferring since resumption is on 17th of this month and I can't meet up cause I applied for my visa on the 19th of May.

Thankfully they have September intake and they only mentioned issuing a new COE. I hope this helps.

I suggest you write them and confirm.
I applied on 24th May. still waiting. I have had to defer my admission. Have any may applicant gotten their student visa please?

Please I need information on Australian university that offer nursing to international student without science background. She studied accounting here in Nigeria. And please the requirements needed.
You can't study accountancy and all of a sudden switch to nursing. No educational background, no work experience!!! Red flag.... Immi officers are quick to deny such visas!!

na to do something else now abi.. what do you think? Sorry say I dey disturb you o, I be novice.
correct me if I am wrong. You are/will be be on a dependent visa and you are looking for routes for PR?
Couple of things!
1) Your wife can be the principal applicant for PR if she is doing a course that has a pathway to PR.
You can assist her by doing an assessment for your course and getting a good score for PTE/IELTS
2)You can look for a course that has a pathway to PR and study. Please be mindful of this. Masters on some courses won't do much for you, what they consider is your bachelors (e.g Engineering) so you need to keep that in mind when making your choice. Secondly, if you are on dependant visa you cannot study a bachelors or masters. You might need to concentrate on working, saving up and supporting your wife. When she is done with school and you feel the need to go to school too, you can apply for a student visa and she can be your dependent. also note that your wife will get 2/3 years post study visa so you might want to play around with that (using most of it to hussle and switching to study when it's about to expire then she goes under your own student visa as your dependent)
3) You need to look into Canada too. They have a PR system similar to Australia. It's good to have a couple of options so you dnt go back to Tinubu🙄.
