waWU!!!! Congratulation... no check anything again... just dive into the pool and gather your documents... 2 weeks is just around the corner princekins: I was about to to check my IELTS result and was feeling like using the toilet. Immediately I saw it, all the disturb vanished.
1st attempt was a success: 8/7/7/7.5 for LRWS respectively. I dey suspect that my reading o, but I will just leave it like that since CRS is @472
Thank you Lord for success.
For writing I will advise all those having difficulty, to answer task 2 first before task 1 since it carries more marks and d brain is a bit calm. Also, more important in this IELTS is learning synonyms. I will find time to compile list of common synonyms which one can easily use in writing later. |

Guys this issue has been over flogged..
The main aim of the thread was to gather and get information about NNPC recruitment... now it has turned into something else... from asking if it's morally justified to release interview questions, to asking if God exists or whether we have 36 or 40 states in Nigeria...
Please let us go back to the main aim of the thread as we await further information from NNPC on when APL's and Tfares will be released. |

Shey u got invited for CBT year and Oral interview? Just wait for the next action by them Edicoco: Please i want to know, for eh, is it your number of years of relevant experience or total years of post nysc experience that counts? Do they deduce it from your credentials during screening or what we filled online? Also in the grading system, is a masters degree an advantage? What is the estimated grade level for 7-9years experience + M.Sc? Thanks in anticipation. |

Congratulations komemarz: I had mine some days back and it was successful. I will advise you to be honest, be bold and confident but don’t be proud.
The first question actually threw me off balance. I have never heard of the term before. Unknown to me it had to do with energy sustainability and providing alternative source to fossil fuels. I felt bad but didn’t show it on my face.
Luckily for me, I had a little conversation with one of the panelist before and he maybe seemed to like me. He called my name and said do you mean you don’t know this and this .. it was then I was drawn into reality. I was fired up. I explained the term very well and gave suitable examples. I saw them nodding their heads in agreement and the asker of the question said you have said it all and why did you behave as if you don’t know anything about it before and I was told to relax and be myself. He told the chairman that he was satisfied with my answer and the other questions followed.
The chairman was the last to ask. His questions bothered on safety on the field and in the office to which I provided answers to. I mentioned 3 safety tips and he provided a scenario in the office and asked me what I will do. Immediately I mentioned it , he said that’s it.
I was asked to make a comment or ask a question. I commented on my interview with them and I was appreciated for my compliments.
This last part surprised me and it gave me confidence and boost. After the chairman announced that we have gotten to the end of the interview, he left his chair and walked up to where I was seated and shook my hands and said congratulations and welcome. In same vein I shook the hands of the other interviewers with all of them saying congratulations with smile on their faces.
Just a summary of my experience in the interview room. I hope for the best |

Please are you GT or EH?? Firstgentleman1: Hello everyone. I'd like to share my experience today.
My interview was slated for 4th of July(today), 12pm. I had another test to take at 9am in another organisation. Luckily it was in the same location (CBD). I finished my test around 11am. I rushed to take a cab going to the secretariat, from there I connected NNPC towers. I got there around 11:20am. When you get to the front, you are likely to fret. This is where you see a lot of people lined up from the gate stretching almost to the junction. See crowd on suit na.
Luckily, I got there almost in time, because just as I was asking someone on the queue about his time, a man summoned us from the front of the gate. We formed a straight line and made our way into the tower. The man was saying, "12'o clock, come in now or never". We were on the straight line to the entrance where our ID cards were verified alongside our letter of invitation. From there, we proceeded to block A, I guess where we sat down with other invited Candidates. Some already had their letters of invitation verified while some were like us awaiting verification. After verification, which involves signing on your invitation letter, we'd move to signing of documents (original) and sighting of originals. Please take note that if you don't go with your originals, or you miss just one, your documents won't be validated and you can't proceed to the amphitheatre. Take very important note of this for those that would be interviewing later.
After validation of documents, you will sign in. After that, you would proceed to the amphitheatre. This is designed like a typical cinema hall. Here, you'd meet another set of nnpc staff. Here, they would try to make you feel at ease. They are there to call you to your panel. As a matter of fact, I think their job is more of making us comfortable than actually calling us in to our panel. There was a particular man there that was more of a comedian. Very humorous man. There are table water for you at every entry point. You can just take water when you are thirsty. Here, a clip would also be played telling you about what to do in case of an emergency. And also safety tips in the tower.
After you get called, ushers assigned to your panel would lead you to your panel room or floor as the case maybe. I discovered all of us called for that panel were from same discipline and we wrote our test in the same state. A quick check with my friend in another panel also revealed same thing. I was interviewed in the floor that housed the department my discipline would fit in. Take for instance, if you read courses like history, english, linguistics, you would be interviewed at the corporate service department. If you read Economics, business administration, you'd be interviewed at the finance and accounts department. A senior official even came out at a point to say we are all competing with people from our state. Someone cautioned him and he just left laughing. I guess it was supposed to be a classified info.
Enough of procedures, now to my interview experience.
I got in and the members of the panel offered me the only available seat placed before them. They made a joke of my name asking for the correct pronunciation. That was a way of actually making me feel relaxed. They introduced themselves, then told me to do same (can we meet you?). I did. The first man asked a situational judgement question. The second (a woman) asked a discipline related question. The third man asked another situational question. And the final question was about the generic safety question for today. Note that each day has a generic safety question. Today's safety question was: "you have just been promoted as a manager of a petrol station, what are the safety measure you'd take to prevent a fire incident". It was asked in all the panels. I was asked if I had a question, I said no, but I'd love to commend the whole process. I made them understand I was wowed.
On my performance, I won't say I performed well, I did my best and the fact remains that God can always spin surprises. When they ask things I didn't know, I am always quick to point it out to them that I had no idea and I would like them to enlighten me. They were more than glad to do so. At the end, you'd be ushered to block D where you will sign out, then fill out a form where you'd enter you account details for reimbursement of transport fare.
Even if I don't eventually get this job, I would always be proud of the fact that I once participated in the most transparent and seamless recruitment process ever. And that coming from the Nigerian government. Damn! I was blown away by the whole organisation, process and execution. The members of staff were so courteous and ever ready to help. I am guessing they were all trained for more than a month. Because to achieve this level of efficiency, a lot of resources would have been expended.
May God be with those that are preparing for theirs. May God remain with those of us that have written. No matter the outcome, it would all end in praise.
Goodluck guys. |
