Jesus did not stop the people from stoning the woman neither did he say she was not deserving of being stoned to death rather he said 'let him who is without sin cast the first stone' in other words let him who is not deserving of death like this woman cast the first stone. Jesus simply gave that woman a second chance of which 3rd, 4th, 5th......... chances are still available to us today which is the definition of grace.
