A woman has done the unthinkable with her menstrual blood. She made a painting of a baby by collecting her menstrual blood for four months.

Artist, Timi Pali, said she wanted to make a painting that represents the importance and fragility of motherhood.
For four months she used her tampons to collect her blood and then used her fingers to paint the matter on four canvases which she eventually placed together.

In an interview with Mirror magazine, she said the focus is not the blood but the message she wants to pass. She said:

“The focus is not on the blood, but the work has its message because of the menstrual flow.”

She said: elimination of the ovum, through the menstrual blood I gave birth to an artwork during these nine months and actually I created a ‘start of the end,’ and an artwork was born, which illustrates a baby.”

On her website she further explained that she realized the beauty and pain in fertilising a whole being.

Timi wrote:

“One drop of experiment and I realise the beauty of the pain, the value of the period, fertilising my whole being.”elimination of the ovum, through the menstrual blood I gave birth to an artwork during these nine months and actually I created a ‘start of the end,’ and an artwork was born, which illustrates a baby.”

Mum: As an adolescent boy or girl, don’t think it weird when you are attracted to an opposite sex. His or her stature or the likes might appeal to you. It shows that you are very normal. You wouldn’t say, you are abnormal because you can perceive the aroma of dodo while you were fasting. Would you?

Mum: All unmarried people in this world are on a sexual fast or at least, that’s how it was supposed to be. Different dodo, juices, fried fish, chicken; Shawarma and the likes would appeal to them clothed in handsome men and beautiful women of different carriage but block your perception! You are fasting!

Daughter: (nods repeatedly) Hmmm…I am getting it now

Mum: the aroma could be pornography, sexy boys and girls, devilish games and all but be warned, you are what?

Both: Fasting!

Mum: So my daughter, you are as normal as anything. It means all the parts of your body are responding well but the Bible says you should keep your body under!

Daughter: Mum, for real, I can’t thank you enough. I expected you to shout at me and tie your scarves round your waist, stamping your feet on the floor saying ‘Omo yi ti pa mi’ but no! You are trustworthy and I can count on you. And that is why mum is our… (Signals to the boy)

Son: Confidant! (Both laugh)

Currently serving in Kano and I can confidently tell you how much I'm enjoying this place. Though I didn't want it at first but once I settled, I started learning even the language "fala fala"

Just pray well before going and make up your mind to accept Gods choice for you.

Really wanted to serve in the town so I tried fighting tooth and nail only for baba God to tell me to calm down and serve in Toffa!

And now in that small Toffa town, I don't even touch my alAwee because of Gods favor and blessings.

Just keep calm and watch God in action! It might not be as you envisioned, but know that it's for you own good!
