Education / Re: Top 5 Best JAMB CBT App/software by simeonine: 1:56pm On Apr 02
Edubaloo is the Best JAMB/UTME Practice Software to Score 300+
Why many students fail JAMB is that they fail to realize that the JAMB/UTME has evolved, and their preparation method should match the exam. Let’s show you how high-scoring students have been using Edubaloo to blast their UTME.

With Edubaloo you get to:

1. Cover the Entire Syllabus

Covering all the JAMB syllabus topics can be overwhelming for many students. Of course, schools ensure that they cover most of these topics, if not all, in the classroom, but to grasp and retain all the information, a student has to invest more time in studying them privately. A student may understand a topic in class but find it challenging to apply the knowledge during exams due to a lack of practice/revision.

How Edubaloo Solves this:

Edubaloo JAMB/UTME CBT practice software is designed to help students easily cover the entire JAMB syllabus. The software has thousands of practice questions and is preloaded with all past JAMB CBT exams updated till 2023.
These questions help you practice what you have learned in school in the manner you will see them on the exams.
The app also has a search-by-topic feature to quickly find questions on any particular topic. Additionally, you can practice offline, irrespective of where you are.

2. Proper Guidance and Support

In Nigerian classrooms, fast, average, and slow learners coexist. Fast learners adapt quickly, while others struggle without tailored support. However, the average Nigerian classroom contain up to 50 students or more to 1 teacher, making it difficult for the teacher to pay attention to each student on a personal level and follow up with students who do not understand what’s being thought. Therefore, the focus often shifts to quicker learners, leaving many other students overlooked.

How Edubaloo Solves This:

Edubaloo is your personal study guide. All the attention is on you. The explanations are clear and understandable. Additionally, You can re-read and re-watch any part of the explanation as often as you need to ensure you understand it. It even has a SnapSolver feature, where you snap a pic of a tough question and get instant solutions and easy to understand explanations.

See how it answers a mathematics question in the video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXv4R-uzD3U

3. CBT Format Simulation:

Many students are yet to fully adjust to the new Computer Based Testing (CBT) format because schools don't usually provide the opportunity for students to practice with the CBT format, and it is left for them to figure it out on their own. Many students make avoidable mistakes during their exams as they don’t have enough practice with the new CBT format.

How Edubaloo Solves This:

Edubaloo JAMB CBT software allows you to get used to answering questions in the CBT format. The practice software is designed to look exactly like the real JAMB/UTME CBT environment. With good practice, you get used to the format, and all you have to do is answer the questions. This saves you a lot of time during the actual exam. You will not have to worry about figuring out how the CBT works since you would already be familiar with it.

4. Time Management:

You have limited hours to answer all the questions, so you must be able to manage your time wisely. To finish up on time, you shoul allocate 30 seconds to each question. However, many students are not used to writing exams under pressure so they find managing the time challenging.

How Edubaloo Solves This:

The timer feature on the Edubaloo JAMB/UTME practice app helps you become accustomed to the pressure of writing exams in a limited amount of time. As you practice consistently, you can monitor your progress and adjust the amount of time you spend answering each question to become more efficient at answering questions in the shortest possible time. This feature is designed to help you become an expert in time management to perform your best during the exam.

Education / How To Read, Understand, And Actually Remember: 8 Hacks For 2024 UTME by simeonine: 12:36pm On Mar 22
The human brain is wired to filter out and forget information that it deems irrelevant for survival. Unfortunately, most of the academic content you learn in school falls into this category, which is why they are so easy to forget. However, there are strategies you can employ to signal to your brain that this information is essential and worth retaining. As you prepare for the coming JAMB, we’ll walk you through 8 practical techniques that you can follow to ensure you retain and remember all you have studied in the exam hall.

1. Pay Attention

When you're studying, information has to go through three stages in your brain before it can be properly retained: sensory memory, short-term (working) memory, and finally, long-term memory.

The sensory memory can only hold information for 4 seconds before it gets eliminated. If you manage to pay close attention during those 4 seconds, the information makes it through to the short-term memory round. This is working memory, where you can actively process and make sense of the information for a bit longer - around 20-30 seconds.

But to permanently cement the knowledge in your brain, it needs to successfully move to the final long-term memory round. This is where limitless information can be stored for days, weeks, or even years!

The key to getting information through all three rounds is paying undivided attention from the start. Social media and other distractions make you drop out of the sensory round immediately. Imagine trying to study for a math test while also browsing Instagram stories. The formula you just read will get completely bounced from sensory memory because your attention was divided. However, if you fully concentrate with minimal distractions, you greatly increase the chances of information advancing all the way to long-lasting long-term memory.

2. Study Actively

Simply re-reading notes is passive. Active studying means constantly engaging with the material. For example, this could be pausing to ask yourself questions like “What did I just read? How do these two concepts relate? This makes you think about what you are reading, which makes you understand and remember it compared to reading passively

3. Make Notes

As you read, write what you read in your own words as if you are explaining it to a friend. If you discover that you can’t write about what you just read in your own words, it means you don't quite understand it, and you’ll be forced to go back and study it till you know. As you make your notes, you can get creative by adding anything that makes you easily remember them, such as symbols, diagrams, abbreviations, etc, that make sense to you.

4. Use Other Resources When Necessary

Apart from your class notes and textbooks, there are jamb cbt apps like Edubaloo JAMB app that give you an extra layer of understanding. The Edubaloo JAMB CBT app, for example, provides up-to-date past questions that help you test your knowledge in a CBT environment, as well as an AI snapsolver feature that simplifies complex questions with instant explanations.

See the AI snap solver in action here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXv4R-uzD3U

5. Associate New Information with Something Familiar

Try linking new information with something familiar. You can find relatable examples, analogies or mental images to connect with the new material. For example, when studying acids and bases, you could imagine them as characters in a dance. Acids could be imagined as dancers who eagerly donate their moves (protons), while bases are those who accept and match these moves.

This method is also similar to mnemonics. Mnemonics are coded memory aids that transform dry information into catchy phrases, acronyms, or rhymes. A classic example: "My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Noodles" to remember the order of planets.

6. Active Recall and Space Repetition

When you study, you need to review and try to recall them repeatedly at different intervals without consulting your book. Try to remember as many times as possible before the exam. As you try, you’ll find the places you struggle with, and you can revisit them. This is one sure way to prevent forgetting things in the exam hall.

Also, using JAMB past questions as you study is one of the easiest ways to actively recall what you are studying. If you are not using past questions as you study, you will also be missing out on identifying key topics and understanding the pattern of questions that are likely to be repeated.

7. Teach Someone Else

One of the best ways to solidify your own knowledge is to explain it to someone else. The act of teaching cements those details in your mind. It could be your friend, classmate, or even a family member. Lecture" them on something you need to remember for the JAMB exam and have them ask you questions and give you answers. Apart from helping you retain the information, doing this also improves your confidence, so you won’t be nervous when entering the exam hall.

8. Sleep and Healthy Lifestyle

This sounds cliche, but sleep is extremely important for memory retention. During sleep, our brains process and consolidate new information into long-term storage. Ensure you get adequate rest, especially the night before the exam.

As the JAMB exam approaches, being well-prepared and informed about what to expect on exam day is crucial. To help you feel more confident and ready for the big day, we've compiled a list of 10 essential things you should know before taking the JAMB exam. By keeping these tips in mind, you can focus on performing your best during the exam and achieving your desired score.

10 Essential Tips to Know Before Sitting for the JAMB Exam

1. Biometric Verification at the Exam Centre

Upon arrival at the JAMB exam centre, you'll first undergo biometric verification, including thumbprinting and your biodata verification. After this process, you'll be escorted to the exam hall and assigned a computer and seat for the examination. You may have to wait for the invigilator's signal before starting the exam. Be prepared to enter your registration number to log in once instructed.

2. Exam Overview and Key Features

When you log in, take note of the following on the computer screen:
Your passport photograph is at the top left-hand corner
Brief instructions on using the eight-key device at the top right-hand corner
The on-screen calculator, also at the top right-hand corner, for calculation-related questions

Click "Start Exam" to begin your exam, and your time will start counting down.

3. Master the Eight-Key Device and Mouse

Download the app now and start taking advantage of this powerful tool to prepare for the JAMB exam. This last-minute preparation can significantly affect your performance on the JAMB exam.

7. Master using the On-Screen Calculator

The on-screen calculator provided during the JAMB exam differs from the common calculator, and it's crucial to familiarize yourself with its unique functionalities. You'll find the calculator at the top right-hand side of the computer screen. Practising using this calculator is essential to ensure you can handle calculations smoothly during the exam.

For instance, suppose you want to calculate 8 x 4 using the on-screen calculator. When you press 8 and click on the multiplication sign (x), it will display as (8.) instead of (8 x). Then, when you click 4, the (8.) will disappear, and you'll see only (4). If this happens, don't panic; simply click on the equal sign (=) to see the answer.

It's essential to practice using the on-screen calculator before the exam to avoid confusion or stress when solving calculations during the test. The more comfortable you are with the calculator, the more confident you'll feel during the exam, enabling you to perform at your best.

8. Addressing Computer Freezing Issues

If your computer freezes or hangs during the exam, press the F5 key or Ctrl + F5 on your keyboard to resolve the issue. If you need clarification on this process, ask an invigilator or supervisor for help.

9. Read Exam Instructions Carefully

Always read the exam instructions provided on the screen carefully. This will help you understand the exam structure and answer the questions correctly.

10. Stay Calm and Focused

Maintain a calm and focused mindset throughout the exam. Take deep breaths if needed, and remember you've prepared well for this moment. Trust your knowledge and abilities to achieve the best possible result.

Education / Jamb Past Questions Vs Textbooks: Which Is The Better Study Approach? by simeonine: 12:34pm On Feb 27, 2023
As the JAMB/UTME is fast approaching, you might wonder how best to maximize your study time and get the best result. While some students feel studying with JAMB past questions is the way to go as it goes straight to the point and allows time for more practice, they might also wonder if they need to include the comprehensive coverage textbooks offer. Your choice of study materials will have a massive impact on your performance in the exam, so it is essential to consider all factors before making a decision. In this article, we'll discuss the pros and cons of both study methods, provide some suggestions based on individual learning styles, and help you make an informed decision.

Let's get started!

What are Jamb Past Questions?

JAMB past questions are previous exam questions from years back which have been collated and compiled into a document for students to use when preparing for the exam.

These questions are beneficial in practice, providing insight into the pattern and types of questions typically asked on the exam. The questions come with answers and explanations so students can grasp the concepts quickly and accurately.

What are Jamb Textbooks?

JAMB-recommended textbooks are recommended by Jamb and are designed to help students understand the syllabus and prepare for the upcoming exam. These textbooks provide comprehensive coverage of all topics in the JAMB syllabus. They provide more detailed information on each topic than what is typically available in past questions.
Studying from textbooks requires more time and effort, but it also provides a deeper understanding of concepts which can help you when attempting questions.

The Debate between Focusing on JAMB Past Questions or Textbooks

For some students, the debate between studying with JAMB past questions or textbooks comes down to – Should I opt for the shorter and more focused option of studying with past question papers or the more comprehensive approach of studying with books? Both options come with their own pros and cons, so it’s important to consider all factors before deciding.

Pros and Cons of Using JAMB Past Questions

Some advantages of studying with JAMB past questions include:

Familiarity with JAMB Exam Format: By studying past questions, you get familiar with the exam format and frequently asked questions. You can also identify common mistakes and learn from them. Also, you'll walk into the exam knowing what questions to expect.
Practice Time Management: Studying with JAMB past questions helps you manage your time better. You can time yourself while attempting each question, preparing you for the time pressure in the exam hall.
Insight into Frequently Asked Questions: JAMB past questions give you an idea of the type of questions frequently asked in the exam. So you'll know to pay enough attention to these topics when studying.
Easier to Understand: Unlike textbooks, where you need to read through long pages of text to understand a concept fully, JAMB past questions and answers are straight to the point. It's one thing to read and another to be able to apply what you read in the exam hall. Preparing with JAMB questions focuses more on application, which is a more efficient way to prepare since that is the primary goal of studying.
Cost-Effective & Easy to Access: JAMB past questions are relatively inexpensive and can be easily accessed online and offline. All you need to do is download the JAMB CBT practice software, and you’re ready. The best part is you'll get access to all past questions and other study features that'll help you manage your time properly and improve your study productivity.

On the flip side, there are also some disadvantages to relying on JAMB past questions, including:

Limited Scope of Coverage: Too much focus on past questions could mean missing out on some topics in the syllabus that might not be in the past questions. Therefore, studying with past questions alone might not be enough to pass the exam.
Potential for Over-Reliance on Past Questions: Studying with JAMB past questions and answers alone can make you over-rely on the questions and answers without trying to understand the concepts behind them. Some students even go as far as cramming the answers to some questions and getting disappointed when the question comes out in another format in the exam because they don’t fully understand the concept.

Pros and Cons of Using Textbooks

Textbooks, on the other hand, provide comprehensive coverage of the syllabus. Some advantages of studying with textbooks include the following:

Comprehensive Coverage: Textbooks give you a broader perspective covering all the topics and concepts. They also provide detailed explanations and examples, which can help you better understand the concepts.
Opportunity to Develop a Deeper Understanding of Concepts: Textbooks provide a detailed explanation of concepts, which can help you gain a deeper understanding of the subject. This could benefit the exam, as you can apply your vast knowledge of the concepts to solve complex questions.

However, there are also some disadvantages to studying with textbooks, including:

Time-consuming to Cover All the Material: Covering the entire syllabus with textbooks can be time-consuming and might not be feasible if you have limited time before the exam.
Difficulty in Determining What Material Is Most Important: Textbooks cover a vast amount of information, making it difficult to determine what material is most important.
Limited Exposure to JAMB Exam Format: Textbooks do not provide exposure to the JAMB exam format and offer no guidance to preparing for the exam's time pressure and question format. You’ll have to figure out that on your own.

Which Should You Study With?

The decision on which study method to use depends on various factors, including your learning style, the time available for studying, and familiarity with the subject matter. If you prefer a hands-on approach and need to practice time management skills, JAMB past questions might be your better study method. However, using textbooks can be a better option if you prefer a more comprehensive understanding of the subject matter and have more time to study. If you need to become more familiar with the exam format, it is recommended to use JAMB past questions to become familiar with the question style and structure.

Our Verdict: Combine Both Study Methods

While each study method has advantages and disadvantages, combining both approaches for adequate JAMB preparation is essential. Studying with JAMB past questions and textbooks will provide a balance of familiarity with the exam format, a comprehensive understanding of concepts, and access to the latest information. Combining both methods can help you prepare adequately for the exam and increase your chances of success.

In this article, we'll show you how to score at least 300 in the upcoming jamb using the best jamb cbt practice software, Edubaloo. You’ll see what high-scoring students have been doing differently in the past years and what has stopped other students from achieving high scores.

Read on!

Some of the Challenges Students Face with the Jamb Exam

1. Bulky Syllabus

According to Temi, a 2021 UTME taker, “The first time I saw the JAMB syllabus, I became anxious because I didn't know how to start. I didn't think I could complete everything in time and understand every aspect of the topics.” Many students preparing for the exam also felt similar.

Covering the entire syllabus might seem complicated, especially when you have to prepare for multiple subjects, attend classes in school, and engage in extracurricular activities simultaneously.

How Edubaloo Solves this:
Edubaloo JAMB/UTME CBT practice software is designed to help students easily cover the entire JAMB syllabus. The software has thousands of practice questions and is preloaded with all past JAMB CBT exams.

These practice questions cover all topics in the syllabus, which bridges the gap between what you learn in the classroom and the application during exams. In other words, these questions help you practice what you have learned in school in the manner you will see them on the exams.

The app also has a search-by-topic feature to quickly find questions on any particular topic.

Additionally, you can practice on the go, irrespective of where you are. All the time you'd have wasted waiting till you are in a place where you can bring out books to study can now be used to practice with the Edubaloo JAMB/UTME CBT Practice Software. That automatically adds more study time and increases your chances of completing the syllabus.

2. Lack of Proper Guidance and Support
There are often three types of learners in a typical classroom: fast, average, and slow. Usually, fast learners can quickly understand the topics taught in class, but average and slow learners may need extra time and assistance to understand a topic thoroughly. The educational system in Nigeria does not pay attention to this.

Many students feel neglected because several teachers tend to focus more on the faster learners leaving the students who take more time to understand things at a disadvantage. A student, Ade, said, “Whenever one of our teachers ask if we understand what is being thought, once 2 or 3 people say yes, he moves on and tells the rest of us to read on our own”.

Many other students also claim they are shy to express their concerns in class due to fear of embarrassment. As a result, many students are unable to understand the topics being taught fully.

Additionally, many classes have up to 50 students or more to 1 teacher, making it difficult for the teacher to pay attention to each student on a personal level and follow up with students who do not understand what’s being thought.

How Edubaloo Solves this:

Edubaloo is your personal study guide. All the attention is on you. The explanations are clear and understandable. Additionally, You can re-read and re-watch any part of the explanation as often as you need to ensure you understand it. Also coming is the ask-baloo feature which allows you to enter any question you might have, and it answers in an easiest-to-understand manner.

3. Many Students are Unfamiliar with the CBT Format:

The format of the Jamb/UTME has changed over the years, and many students are yet to fully adjust to the new Computer Based Testing (CBT) format. Schools don't usually provide the opportunity for students to practice with the CBT format, and it is left for them to figure it out on their own. This can be very challenging for some students, especially those unfamiliar with using computers.

Temi mentioned earlier also said, “I had never used the CBT format before, and I was scared of making mistakes. It was my first time writing an exam with a computer, so I had to figure out things independently. It took me some time to get used to it, and I was so worried that I wouldn’t be able to finish the exams on time.

Many students make the same mistakes during their exams as they don’t have enough practice with the new CBT format. These 7 JAMB/UTME CBT tips will help you take the exam easily and pass with flying colours.

With the JAMB/UTME exam, time is an essential factor. You have limited hours to answer all the questions, so you must be able to manage your time wisely. However, many students are not used to writing exams under pressure so they find managing the time challenging.
It is essential to practice time management as it will help you make the best use of your exam time and avoid making silly mistakes.

How Edubaloo Solves this:

The "practice with time" feature of the Edubaloo JAMB/UTME practice app helps you become accustomed to the pressure of writing exams in a limited amount of time. As you practice consistently, you can monitor your progress and adjust the amount of time you spend answering each question to become more efficient at answering questions in the shortest possible time. This feature is designed to help you become an expert in time management to perform your best during the exam.

5. No Access to study materials:

Preparing for JAMB/UTME involves a lot of reading, practice and revision. Unfortunately, not all students have access to the materials required to prepare for their exams. The cost of buying practice materials can be pretty high, making them inaccessible to some students. Furthermore, many schools do not have a well-equipped library to help students with this issue.

How Edubaloo Solves This:
Edubaloo combines all the practice materials you'd have had to buy individually in one. It provides access to suitable materials, such as JAMB past questions and answers, for each subject you are writing in your JAMB/UTME CBT. All you have to do is download the app, and you can start practising for your exams for free.

3. Keep in mind the format of the test.

A critical aspect that needs to be considered is the test format. You should understand the test format before taking the examination. Some things you should keep in mind are; the number of questions to expect, the different question sections, and the pattern of the questions.

4. Minimize Distraction

If possible, eliminate all forms of distractions during your study process or atleast keep them to the bare minimum. Sometimes, distractions don’t just come from second parties, we can breed them ourselves. Actively seeing that you rid yourself of anything that can divide your attention will help you concentrate better and remove anxieties.

5. Follow Instructions and Manage Your Time Effectively

When taking the test, you would be provided with a set of instructions. These instructions are there to guide you so, adhere to them strictly. Additionally, It would be best if you answered more questions as quickly as possible and spend less than 50 seconds on each question because your time will be limited. So, if you find a question difficult, move to the next one rather than spending too much time on it.

Jobs/Vacancies / How To Pass 2022 UBA Graduate Trainee Job Aptitude Test Format by simeonine: 1:03pm On Aug 19, 2022
It is that time of the year again when the United Bank for Africa (UBA) announces its annual graduate trainee program. This is a highly competitive process with only the top candidates being selected for the role. If you are hoping to be one of the successful applicants, then you will need to pass the aptitude test with flying colours.

In this article, we will provide you with some top tips on how to prepare for and pass the UBA aptitude test. But before we get into that, let's take a look at what the test entails.

How to Pass the 2022 UBA Graduate Trainee Aptitude Test

1. Get Your Study Strategies Right.

The first step to success is getting your study strategies in place. You need a plan and routine that you can stick to. This will help you stay focused and avoid last-minute cramming.

Study strategies differ from an individual. What works for Mr A might not be what works for you. If you are accustomed to preparing for tests within short notice,  an early preparation routine is advisable. This will help you avoid pressure and have enough time to go through all topics.

2 Get Familiar with the Test Format and Question Types

The best way to ace any test is by getting familiar with the format and question types. This will help you understand what is expected of you and how to approach the questions.

When it comes to the UBA Graduate Trainee Aptitude Test, you should be conversant with your Numerical and verbal reasoning tests.

You should take some time to understand the nature of each section and how it is going to be tested. Doing this will help you focus your attention on the areas that need more work.

3. Use Past Questions and Answers to Study

One of the most effective ways of preparing for any test is by using past questions and answers. They help you understand the pattern of the questions and how they are usually asked.

When it comes to the UBA Graduate Trainee Aptitude Test, past questions will help you manage your time correctly, give you an idea of what to expect on that day of the test, and most especially assist you in knowing the frequently asked questions.

4. Revisit Difficult Areas in Your Study Guide

No matter how hard you try, there are always going to be areas in the study guide that will be more difficult than others. When you get to these areas, take some time to understand the concepts clearly before moving on.

If you find that you are still struggling with the material, seek help from a friend or tutor. It is better to spend a little extra time on these difficult areas now than to struggle with them on test day.

5. Simulate the Test Environment as Much as Possible

One of the best ways to reduce test anxiety is by simulating the test environment as much as possible. This means taking practice tests under timed conditions and in a quiet place.

By doing this, you will get used to the feeling of being under pressure and be less likely to feel overwhelmed when taking the actual test.

 6. Follow all Invitation Instruction

If you are invited to participate in the UBA Graduate Trainee Aptitude Test, you should be watchful of Examination preparatory instruction on or before that day. This instruction will entail how to take the Computer-based test, the time and date of the test, and, most significantly, your login in detail to the portal. We advise all candidates to follow all instructions to avoid any mix-ups before or that day.

7. Manage Your Time Effectively

Many candidates from the previous UBA Graduate Trainee Aptitude Test have complained of the limited time given during the test. The goal of the UBA Graduate Trainee Aptitude Test is to access your speed within a short time. The test comprises 60 questions.

You are expected to spend 60 minutes answering all questions. This means you are to spend less than one minute on one question. Candidates aiming high on this test should manage their time during the test. It entails first attempting easy questions, spending less time on difficult questions, and trying to answer all questions.

8. Avoid all disturbances before and during the test.

This might not be easy to control. Distractions can occur before the test. Depending on the individual in this context, these distractions can be anxiety, fear, unfamiliar environment, noise, and even friends. Some of the ways by which we can control disturbance and effectively study before the test include:

Find a comfortable location that is free from noise and friends.
Get your writing materials already before starting to avoid frequently moving about.
Create a time for study and ensure that you follow it meticulously.
Remove all disturbances such as phones and gadgets.

Looking for a job can be tough and stressful, especially if you don’t have access to the right resources or support. One of the most important tools at your disposal is networking – using your professional contacts, both inside and outside your field, to help find and secure employment opportunities.

At its core, networking is all about building and maintaining relationships with other professionals. It can be an invaluable asset in your job search when done correctly, opening doors that might otherwise be closed to you.

This article will discuss the key strategies for networking effectively when looking for a job. We will examine how to tap into your existing network, leverage new connections, and tips on maintaining these relationships to maximize their impact on your career success. Whether you are currently looking for work or simply want to build your professional network, this guide will help you get the most out of your networking efforts.

5 Benefits of Networking

1. Networking can help you to find a job faster.

The role of networking in job hunting can’t be overstated. Whether you’re actively looking for a new job or just keeping your options open, networking is a great way to connect with employers who may be interested in hiring you. In addition to connecting you with potential employers, networking can also give you insights into the job market and help you to learn about new opportunities before they’re announced publicly. Statistics show that between 70-80% of all jobs are filled through networking, so building a strong network can be invaluable in your job search.

2. Networking can help you establish yourself as an expert in your field.

Career development is all about continuing to learn and grow in your field to advance in your career. Networking can help you do this by connecting you with experts and mentors in your area who can share their knowledge and insights.

Networking is not just about making professional connections; it’s also about building and maintaining relationships with knowledgeable and experienced people in your industry or niche. By forming these valuable relationships, you can gain access to up-to-date information and insights that can help you to establish yourself as an expert in your field.

In addition, networking can also help you stay up-to-date on the latest trends in your industry to adapt your skills and knowledge accordingly. Finally, networking can also help you find mentors who can offer advice and guidance as you develop your career.

3. Networking in the workplace can help you build supportive relationships with your colleagues.

Networking is not just important when looking for a job or developing your career; it’s also an essential part of workplace success. While networking is often thought of as something you do outside of the workplace, it’s also important to network with your colleagues. Why?

Because building supportive relationships with your colleagues can help you create a more positive and productive work environment. In addition, networking with your colleagues can also help you build a stronger support network that you can rely on when you need advice or assistance.

Finally, networking with your colleagues can help you build professional relationships that can benefit your career over the long term. For example, by building good relationships with your colleagues, you may gain access to valuable contacts and resources that can help you advance in your career or land a new job.

4. Networking can give you a competitive edge throughout your career.

Networking is also important for long-term success in your career, as it can help you stay ahead of the competition. How? By networking, you can gain access to information and resources that can help you to stay ahead of the curve in your industry. In addition, networking can also help you build relationships with people who can give you a competitive edge when securing new projects, clients, or jobs.

5. Find Hidden Opportunities through Networking

One of the biggest benefits of networking is that it can help you find hidden opportunities that might not be advertised or readily available. By talking to people in your network, you may be able to learn about unadvertised job openings and upcoming projects.

It can also help you find hidden opportunities within your current organization. For example, if you’re looking for a promotion or pay raise, networking with the right people can help you identify internal opportunities you may not have otherwise known about.

13 Strategies to Find Your Dream Job through Networking

#1. Overcome your fear.

The first strategy on how to get a job through networking involves getting rid of your fear. While networking can be an important tool for finding your dream job, many people find it intimidating or uncomfortable.

If you’re feeling nervous about networking, remember that everyone feels this way at first and that the more you practice and get comfortable with it, the easier it will become. With a little effort and persistence, you’ll soon discover how powerful networking can be for your career success.

#2. Start building your professional network early and continuously.

One of the most important strategies for finding a job through networking is building your professional network early and continuously. The sooner you start developing relationships with professionals in your field, the better. In addition, it’s important to keep your professional network strong throughout your career by maintaining and nurturing your relationships.

#3. Join professional organizations and attend networking events and job fairs in your field.

Another key strategy for finding a job through networking is joining professional organizations or attending networking events in your field. These groups can offer valuable opportunities to connect with other professionals, access important resources, and stay up-to-date on industry trends.

Social media can also be a valuable tool for networking, as it can help you connect with professionals in your field from around the world. In addition, social media can also help you to stay up-to-date on industry news and developments.

LinkedIn: Use Linked In to research potential contacts, connect with professional groups, and stay on top of industry trends. You may search by industry, company name, or job title and then reach out to people at those firms to connect with them. “Don’t send a resume until invited,” but don’t forget to keep digging until you find out whether the business and position are suitable. Frequently, the discussion may lead to an interview.”
Twitter: On Twitter, research the companies you’re interested in and follow any handles they have that are focused on recruiting so you may stay informed about new openings. Like, retweet or interact with what recruiters or relevant hiring managers post to connect with them.

#5. Be strategic about how you connect with people in your network.

When networking for a job, it’s important to be strategic about how you connect with people in your network. When networking, it’s also important to be a resource for others. If you can offer helpful advice or information to someone in your network, they’ll be more likely to remember you and be willing to help you in the future.

#9. Network outside the box.

Look for ways to network strategically in nearly every area of your life. Whether you’re talking with friends, family members, or strangers on the bus, think of how you can build your professional network. Consider how you can use your hobbies and interests to meet new people who could benefit your career.

#10. Follow up with the people you meet.

Be sure to follow up with the people you meet when networking. Whether you send a thank-you note or an email, staying in touch with the people you meet can help to solidify your relationships and make it more likely that they’ll be willing to help you in the future.

It’s important to keep in touch with your network even when you’re not actively looking for a job. Send holiday cards, connect on social media, or invite people out for coffee. You’ll keep your relationships strong and be top of mind when new opportunities arise by staying in touch.

#11. Be patient.

While networking can be a great way to find a job quickly, it’s important to be patient. Finding your dream job may take time and persistence, and you may need to attend several networking events or meetings before you land your ideal position. However, with hard work and dedication, you’ll soon be on your way to achieving your career goals.

#12. Remember that networking is a two-way street.

It is not just about finding a job for yourself. It’s also an opportunity to help others and make connections that benefit both you and your contacts. By focusing on how you can be of service to others and how they can help you, you’ll find it easier to build and maintain strong professional relationships.

With these strategies, you can effectively network your way to your dream job and achieve success in your career.

#13. Get started today.

Who is a Commissioned Officer?
A commissioned officer is an officer who commenced his military career by gaining admission into the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) for special training and courses or one who after completing his higher education (University or Polytechnic) obtained, passed, and successfully completed the training and courses of the Direct Short Service Course (DSSC).

Anyone who falls into any of the categories above will be commissioned after completing his training and courses. Commissioned officers have more legal responsibilities than non-commissioned officers, therefore they hold higher ranks and are paid more.

Who is a Non-Commissioned Officer?
A non-commissioned officer simply put, is a military officer who has not pursued a commission. They obtain their position of authority by promotion through the listed ranks. Non-commissioned officers are divided into Junior Non-Commissioned Officers (JNCO) and Senior (or staff) Non-Commissioned Officers (SNCO).

Many Nigerians see non-commissioned officers as those without the needed academic qualification to advance into the Commissioned ranks. But this is untrue.
