SirMichael1: Hello Good afternoon Familanders. This is very long, so please bear with me.
I’ll start from the root. Well, in my church, there’s usually a committee for the married men where most times we can proffer solution to the issues or need of the church members and other times organize get together monthly within us (married men) just to foster unity. Since we're like 20, different men host the get together. Therefore, it's spaced out for 1year and 8months.
It all began last Sunday when I was chosen to oversee the next get together which comes up this Sunday after church. When we (my wife and I) got home after church, I told her about it and she immediately asked, “who would do the cooking”? I was taken aback as the question sounded strange. I replied her saying, since she did the cooking the last time, I figured she’d do it this time.
She got angry and said there’s no way she’ll be going through the stress of cooking for 18 to 25 men and that I better know what to do concerning who’s going to handle the cooking. I tried to calm her down and reminded her of how I assisted her in the kitchen by pounding the yams while she made the soup -two soups actually and that I was going to help her this time. Yam is quite expensive so we’re not pounding this time, just Semo.
She remained adamant and said there was no way she would do anything, that the work stressed her so much and she won’t partake in any cooking and that I better go find anyone to do the cooking. Thing is, I understood the fact that the work was stressful for her because she was 5 months pregnant then and it was her first time.
Yesterday at work, I kept pondering about a solution and a thought struck me. I called her from work and asked her, "how about I get one of the women at church to offer you support?". She blatantly refused and still held on to her words.
My mind hasn’t been settled since morning because I got hold of a caterer and she told me that she’ll charge a thousand naira per head, that is approximately 20k. Truth is, the get together came at a wrong time and considering the prices of drinks, the cost of the food stuff, meat, ingredients, etc. I really can’t afford a caterer right now.
I’m at a cross road now. I don’t know what to do because it’s causing a rift between us. I thought of bringing a church member to assist on that day without informing her so she wouldn’t surprise me and leave the house but I fear that if she comes, my wife might not join her in the kitchen and the woman will begin to feel a certain way (thinking of how ungrateful we are). Then again, who will purchase the food items? I’ve just been confused. I really need insights.
Note: I said I'll help her make the swallow, she just needs to make the soup.
My brother God will bless you, please try and understand with your wife is not easy to cook for 18-25 people. The serving, cleaning, washing and running around hmm. Is not necessary you cook for them soft drinks will be fine everybody understand how the country is or are they not your church member? No amount of food you give them they will still eat at home. Your wife luv you so show are much luv and care. God bless you.
mabeni: i went to Alaba international market to buy a set of Tokunbo Home Theatre. Luckily/ unfortunately for me i asked around and i was directed to a shop where i would find my choice. I got to the shop and i specifically told them I want a SAMSUNG Home Theater and the search began. They tested 3 diferrent sets but the last one got my attention and I asked for the price.
The seller (shop owner) told me it was 55k and i negotiated it to 25k and he asked me pay. I requested for his account details but he declined saying he doesn't take transfers. I quickly went to use POS, came back and asked for the SAMSUNG SETS i had priced be tested to avoid foul play. It was tested and i confirmed it. I paid, receipt was issued to me but without going through my receipt, I wrote my name and signed because i never suspected scam.
Now, it was time for me to leave with my purchases and the boy boy told me "the engine/DVD to the home theater i bought does not support or work with electricity but strictly works for only generator ". I asked him to repeat himself and he did. The statement didn't make sense to me. He then suggested he could swap the engine/DVD of the SAMSUNG Home Theater i bought for another one that uses electricity. I sensed foul play and asked him why he didn't tell me these before making payment.
Note: the owner of the shop had gone out when boy boy was telling me this. Luckily, he came back to meet us arguing. I narrated what his boy told me about the sound system they sold for me he affirmed to it that the engine/DVD doesn't use electricity. I got confused and demanded for a refund. These guys refused. Insisting I take another DVD...i refused either that i preferred what i bought. They refused me going with what I bought. This infuriated a lot of noise and here comes in an elderly man who claimed to be the landlord of the shop.
He asked me what was wrong, i told him and he slapped the Boy boy. At this point, i knew I was being scammed but was helpless as well. It was just only me against Alaba boys. The elderly man asked me to calm down that he was there to help me out bla bla bla and requested to see the receipt that was issued to me me. Lo and behold, the subwoofer and the other 3 small speakers was not included in the receipt. They only wrote the engine/DVD they claimed doesn't use nepa light and even boldly put NO WOOFER & NO SPEAKERS. (indirect or indirectly, i only paid 25k for just the DVD player )
The truth was, i never saw these errors before the arrival of the elderly man. he pointed out the errors and finally told me they don't refund money in ALABA that it was all a trick and the trick was for me to pay any amount cos the sound system i bought was more than 25k that i would have to add more money for me to go with it. I insisted i don't have more money to add and they insisted i take a Chinese product. I no gree.
To cut it short, i finally found out the elderly man was part of them. His job was to distract and calm their victim down. At the end of it all, i only got the subwoofer and 3 small speakers. The ENGINE/DVD was not given to me.
This was my sad experience today in the hands of some heartless Nigerians.
That is the face of the SHOP OWNER. TRUE CALLER shows his name as BEN.
acunnon, do you know this man?
My brother dey don dagbo u. Which one is electricity and generator. Generator also generate electricity and power from both grid(public utility) and generator are AC so why won't it work with it.

[quote author=GeorgeD1 post=7591960]litaninja, sorry for replying so late. your problem is a simple one.
since you already carried out an inventory of your estimated power consumption, your already on the right track to solving things.
now here we go:
1) total (it equipment) power consumption = 2000w
2) total expected run time/day = 14hrs
3) watt/hours per day (2000*14) = 28,000watthours
4) assuming your using a 48v battery bank system voltage,
you will need a 28,000/48 = 584ah battery bank
if your using a 200ah battery, you need 4 batteries in series and at least 3 battery banks wired in parallel, i.e 12pcs 200ah batteries for your equipment to run without interuption.
5) you will need a minmum 3.5kv inverter to carry your load.
for recommendations, make sure you buy original zenith 200ah batteries. personally that's what i use and i been using them close to 4yrs now without fail. also, buy either nexus, sukam or cyberpower 3.5kva inverter for reliability.
also, you will no longer need those apc backup ups anymore. your inverter system acts as a better and more robust ups system with longer storage. To me I will recommend, 10units of 48v200Ah battery connected in parallel and 3.5KVA inverter if u are 2 run ur system 4 14hrs. I put dis in2 consideration in my calculation. 1.25 tolerance, ba3 efficiency 80%,dod 50%
Pls guys which of dis is correct. Array peak amp hr= total wat-hr/eff. Of ba3/sun shine hr Or Array peak amp hr = average amp hr per day/eff. Of ba3/ sun shine hr Urgent pls
Boss13: Thank you so much. I made a terrible mistake. I contacted dubious and incompetent installers. The batteries I have now cannot charge more than 50V through solar and sometimes I use external charger which charges it to 53.7v. However, immediately I put on my load, it drops instantly to 50V. I have been told the batteries are fairly used and sold to me as new ones by wicked Alaba traders. The trader has promised me new ones tomorrow.
I have spent so much and I cannot concentrate any longer. My inverter went off this morning by 6:01am . I need assistance
Next time make sure d voltage and current rating of d ba3 is tested wit a meter 4 u 2 c
