Good morning fam. Allow us to digress a bit.

POSTPARTUM DEPRESSION
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When you hear the above phrase you think of new moms. Who would have ever thought that daddies go through the same phase.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In women, Postpartum depression (PPD) develops within 4 - 6 weeks of child birth and may manifests month later. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In men, however, postpartum depression also called Paternal Postnatal Depression (PPND) can occur anytime during the first year.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Men suffering from PPND sometimes
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Feel isolated from friends & family
 Display (abnormal) violent behaviour
 Feel frustrated or irritable
Loose interest in hobbies and/or sex
 Work contantly
 Experience fatigue
 Feel conflicted
 Contemplate suicide
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
* If your female partner IS facing PPD then there is a greater chance that the you dad would too.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
How do we resolve this?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1. Well talking through it with people who are have been there helps.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2. Find someone you can really trust to confide in or a psychiatrist (and no that doesn't mean you're crazy).
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3. Make time for yourself. You need to be taken care of too.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
4. Stay healthy.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
5. Make an effort to re-connect with your significant other from time to time.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The internet is truly a beautiful place. @mentalmoms

I massage my baby everynight after cleaning her up. It actually helps her relax and sleep more soundly and longer.

Thanks for the feedback mommy.

Sleeping babies are just the cutest. Don't you think? They look soooo peaceful and perfect. However, we know how tasking it can for them to get to this state. They struggle with falling asleep as though they're suffering from the Fear Of Missing Out (FOMO). Why baby? Why?

Putting them on a schedule is one great way to help babies sleep better when they are as young as six weeks. All you need is consistency to make it work.

Below are a few suggestions

1. Play during the day but calm things down at night. This will help baby associate night time with sleep.

2. Encourage a quiet atmosphere half an before you start baby's bedtime routine. No loud noise. If possible no TV. This will help baby to relax.

3. Let baby's feeding be quiet and calm. Burp baby when done.

4. Give baby a nice, warm bath 45 minutes after feeding. This will allow the food to digest and prevent any discomfort.

5. Give baby a gentle, calming massage before putting on the nightwear. You can use something as simple as coconut oil. Do NOT use mineral oil and apply in moderation (more on this in future posts).

Bath, massage and sleep time should not be more than 30 mins. If you do this daily,
baby will eventually fall asleep easily just like clock work.

If only they could stay this small...just a little longer...sigh. Sleep well pretty angel

Hi moms,

Quick question. Do you massage your babies or do we consider that a foreign culture? I'm doing a research and would love to get opinions from experienced moms like yourselves grin.

*Applause*

I'd suggest just plain ori or that with coconut oil. I heard Funbact-a bleaches.

Please advise on good moisturising soap and cream for 1 to 2 year baby.
The weather is drying up my boys skin. I switched to coconut oil but will not use it for long.

Where are you based? Do you have access to shea butter? You can mix it with palm kernel oil. Together they will protect the skin from harmattan.

Car Talk / Re: FG Approves National Vehicle Identification Database by SimpleLuxuries: 6:35am On Dec 16, 2019
linearity:

So, what made you think that, what you have described is not a National database?

National database does not mean that, there will be a database instance in Abuja; you mentioned VIOs, which is a Federal agency and database design these days are distributed and they can be in each regional or State VIO offices or can exist in the cloud or multiple cloud virtual machines; but it is definitely not going to be a single database residing in Abuja or somewhere, that is old design that does not scale, have a single point of failure and have many bottlenecks
.

I do not know if you know how DNS database works, they are distributed and are in hierarchy and operates on write once, read many principle; this can made to function like that; the whole essence of it been National is such that; each point of a read operation be it a state, local VIO office, officer or any agency to have access to records of all vehicles in the Nation.

Thanks for clarifying. I thought the data would be hosted in a central database like that of NIN.

CarGuideNG:

Hello Sir

The US does have a national federal VIN and registration database, called the NMVTIS.

National Motor Vehicle Title Information System.

Websites like VINAUDIT are essentially portals to access the NMVTIS database.

Oh. I didn't know this. Thanks for the info.

Car Talk / Re: FG Approves National Vehicle Identification Database by SimpleLuxuries: 2:14am On Dec 15, 2019

Not totally true though.

In the US, each state have a vehicle database; and one state can pull the database of the other, making it essentially a complete database of vehicle ownership in the US, which is the same as a national database.

These vehicle ownership documents can be forged to perfection in Nigeria or a database that is not limited within each state is needed.

Finally, your last statement even negate your entire argument; if there is no national database where will one check the VIN for ownership information across state boundaries?

We don't need a national database. The government simply needs to upgrade VIOs platform so the systems can talk to each other as against operating in silos. They also need to do something about the corrupt officers who bypass due process and issue out fake documents.

Blue3k:

I dont think this true. The USA doesn't have a national vehicle registration yet this isnt an issue. A car thief would have to provide ownership information before registering car in snother state anyway. Lastly you would check the vin number to see if car stolen.

Thank you!

It's a grid collapse.
But it's been restored gradually, and discos will later get signal from NCC to hook up.

So far, only @aedcelectricity (that is Abuja) have hooked on. Others will follow....

Really? AEDC hasn't restored power yet.
