Many prominent people in our country like Pa Awolowo who went to mission school are testimony to the selfless service of this Christian missionaries, for which you and I should forever be grateful.

Honestly speaking no political office holder in Nigeria at present deserve more than a 2years stint in office not to talk of contemplating a second term. Taking a second shot at any political office should be predicated on an extraordinary performance during the first tenure, unfortunately wether bottom up or the other way round, nothing at all justify their contious stay or comeback. Not until we have someone at the helms of affairs in this country under whose watch and leadership, 70-75% of Nigerians can afford a decent three square meal, no much ado about where to lay their head(accomodation), with the availabity of a standard health care facilties accessible to all. Until this minimum benchmark in governance is achieved no political office holder as presently constituted truly deserves such priviledge.

The only premise on which a Christian should oppose the government is when the government tells you to do what opposes what God has said - like don't preach the gospel again; don't mention the name of God again like the Pharisees told the disciples & they refused; bow before a strange god like Nebuchadnezzar told Shadrach, Meshach & Abednego and they refused; etc.

NCDC has not told us not to preach, or worship God, or bow before a strange god, etc..all they said is religious centres can't open because of virus transmission issues, but rather worship and pray to your God at home. How is that evil? Even some prominent men of God have decided not to open their churches until things die down, is that wrong?
Personally, worshipping and praying to God at home has helped me in my communication and relationship with God. In the course of these past 3 months, God has instructed me on areas of ministry that He wants me to carry out and I have started. If I were busy with church as a leader that I am and other secular activities, I would never have heard God speak to me.

For me, I am a Christian, and will stand by what the Bible as a whole says - obey those in authority.
Mind you, some of the people forming Holier-than-thou here and saying they will not obey the government & church should reopen may be sinning against God in other aspects...how many of them pay their tax, or even their tithe, how many love their neighbor as themselves?? Like my pastor would say, There will be surprises on the day of judgment!

Unfortunately, He didn't mention any specific instance where christians flouted the NCDC rule? Let's not jump at defending people who batter our faith to increase the value of their pay cheque just to save face.
