It was sent on 17.12.2021 from Germany and has been with Nigeria customs since 04.01.2022.
However, the status has not changed since then. I have tried to contact NIPOST /EMS to no avail and I'm a worried that it might either get missing or sent back to Germany.

steelie: @Tope and Godson...are clothings expensive in Germany?..just want to know if it is preferable to shop for winter clothings here in 9ja or when one arrives there?...make person know wetin e dey arrange...
Well it depends on what you are used to wearing in Nigeria and how much you are willing to spend on clothings. If you've been buying the "authentic / designer" gears there in Nigeria, then it's basically same. I would advice you buy winter clothes in Germany, as some of the duvet jackets in Nigeria are already dead and may not provide sufficient warmth.

Mickom: Bro, i'm not talking about admission letter stuff. Admission letter most be color while the photocopy as to be black and white. But concerning the issue of block account. I'm sure they understand that DB may delay the statement due to high volume of acct dealing with from difference countries. But i'm still stand on my word bro they will allow you to do the interview if you can show them teller of the transfer you have done. But without no copy u will be sent out. Germany have principle and they want you to follow their instruction simple as ABC and you will be fine. Pls bro write the embassy to confirm my word.
He will definitely be turned away, probably not by the Nigerians but by the German consular, as the teller does not prove that he blocked the specified sum of money in his account; and this is from personal experience.

partyhard77: Have not be contacted at all.my interview is on tuesday 7am.pls help ooooh.how can I contact DB.have check my bank here d money has being transfer since monday.am really worried oh.
I am quite sure you will receive it before your interview date, but to be on the safer side u should call the customer care as topeajis suggested or you can use the "contact" tab on their website.

Capt. JH Miller:
Hello..
Please I have been reading through the thread and I come across some places where people say admission is competitive and you have to have a good grade to have a chance of acceptance.
I always read where people say they have been accepted into 2+ unis and I believe they ended with a very good grade.
Please what are the chances of someone with 2.2? CGPA of 3.35 to be precise.. Thanks.
It should depend on the university, but most universities will accept a 2.2. But I want to believe you are planning for next winter / summer semester 'cos admissions to this winter semester are already being processed.

Generally, for those planning to study in Germany, you would be better-off if you grasp a bit of German, say A1 level before traveling to Germany. Asides relating better with the locals, you certainly can seek scholarships and even loans as knowledge of German will always be a prerequisite. Furthermore, you get to save money (more expensive learning deutsch in Germany than in Nigeria, plus you can put your pocket money to other use) and probably time. As for jobs, "they" say it's easier to get student jobs in the west of Germany, so you might want to consider that while applying to universities, but have in mind also that the cost of living is also higher... That notwithstanding, if you NEED a job (whichever city you might choose) you will definitely find one especially if you are skilled (e.g IT or Autocad skills); language only becomes an issue if the job requires you to render services to people.

surecan: Please for those in Germany, how many years residence permit will be extended once you arrive in Germany for those going for 2 years master program.Thank you
Already looking ahead lol. You would be issued a residence permit after 3 months of arrival, which will be valid for a year. Though there are claims that those with scholarship are issued a two-year residence permit.

surecan: please house, this letter of English proficiency,if for instance i am not applying through uni assist and i want to apply to more than 2 to 3 university, must i provide 3 different proficiency letter or i should just use one and notarize it and send to the various universities
You can also get a document from your state's ministry of education, stating that u have been taught in English at all levels especially bachelors. U can then make copies of this and certify at a high court or by a notary public, though the former is cheaper. This worked for me and also for some friends of mine.

Demaejy: @simply D

Quite an age here bro, how is Germany? However, i knew you went for master but please could you give your views generally on undergraduate based on your experience over there. Thanx
All I can say is that most (if not all) require sufficient knowledge of German, as it is the primary language of teaching at that level. I can't really say much (specifically) about it, as I presume u want to know about the quality of learning. Generally, the standard is really high, especially if it's a technical course, as there are lots of high tech research going on.

surecan: please brother,i have gpa of 3.1 and the school that i want to apply for master need 3.0,do you think i should go ahead to apply because i dont know their grading system.thank you
You should go through the requirements again 'cos I want to believe they must have specified their reference scale. That notwithstanding, a G.P. of 3.0 should suffice as it's about equivalent to the same "grade" in the German system. All in all just apply as you have nothing to lose.

For those of you willing to pursue a masters programme in Germany, want to believe that you have made up your minds about the programme(s) you would want to apply to as the application process for most universities would soon commence.

As for the questions many of you are still seeking answers to, almost everything has been treated in earlier posts especially between February and October. All you need do is find time to go through the thread and be informed.

Furthermore you need to know that this is something you can do all by yourself, as it is a pretty straightforward stuff and you do not even need to pay anyone for anything

surecan: Thanks,i have Gtb master card but uni assist said Nigeria cards are not accepted,do you say i should go ahead to use it because i have been using it to buy online.
Just came across this
TravelRe: German Embassy And Visa by SimplyD(m): 8:17pm On Aug 14, 2012
surecan: thank you brother, why i ask this question is because i want to apply as many university as possible as you did also,am not talking about the embassy rather admission process, does it mean that you submitted 4 separate official sealed transcript and do u take TOEFL OR IELT test.Thank you
All you need do is get copies of your documents authenticated by a 'notary public'- usually legal practitioners. You shoul find this option available for most universities in Germany, you can verify this on the "required documents" page of your choice university.
As for TOEFL you can also avoid it by obtaining a letter from your state's ministry of education which would indicate that you have been taught in English from primary education through university (about 16 years).
These worked for me and also for a friend of mine. All the best.

@yampion- yes

@tetraman- they usually ask for a proof; your work I.D card would suffice (just for sighting so don't bother making copies of it). About the duration, can't be exact 'cos it would depend on how "clear, concise and acceptable" your responses are. Shouldn't last more than 25mins though.

tetraman: @SimplyD
A few more questions, if you don't mind...
Have you been asked called to collect the visa yet ?
Do they ask about your ties to Nigeria (eg. Family here, work) during the interview ?

Thanks.
Yes, u would be asked about the nature of your work and maybe about family. Guess the idea, like u mentioned, is to find out if u would return after your studies

Thanks for all your advice, I have a few questions tho'
Q- Have you guys had trouble opening the bank account with the Deutsch bank, something about the embassy not stamping the documents ?
Q- how long does it take to get the German student visa from after the interview ?
Q- How long should the validity on your passport be to apply for the visa?

Thanks.
God bless.
I think once u fill the forms well and attach d required documents, there should be no delay in stamping ur documents.

Student visa takes 2 - 3 weeks after d interview. As 4 d passport, it should be valid for at least the duration of ur stay- presumably 2 years 4 masters'.

igahdavid: does anyone know how long it takes after the interview to get a visa?
2 - 3 weeks. If u don't get a mail within this period, u should send them a mail to enquire about the status of ur application. Don't 4get to quote the 6 digits on the visa receipt u were issued
TravelRe: German Embassy And Visa by SimplyD(m): 1:11pm On Jul 14, 2012
Cdspencer: simplyD, thanks for the reply. Pls, I just booked appointment yesterday and I used fedex. Do u knw how long it will take for them to call me for interview from ur own experience . Waiting patiently for ur reply.
I was given appointment 1 week from d day I sent myn. It could have been a function of d courier service but I dnt thnk it should take longer.
TravelRe: German Embassy And Visa by SimplyD(m): 8:26pm On Jul 12, 2012
Cdspencer: Pls, someone should enlighten us on the likely question to expect during the student visa interview in german embassy
U should know a little about Germany (important stuff like d female chancellor, stadium and major events) and d German states. furthermore u definitely should know about d program- course module, subjects and ur area of specialization. Also u should know why u don't want to study in Nigeria and have a clear plan of what to do after the program.
Most importantly, be confident, sound technical and don't stutter. I wasn't given any written test though d interviewers do fake tha. they understand what u r going for but promptly stop once u get too technical. All d best
