Danhumprey:I know that this question is for Adelana, but since I'm among those that wanted Pep ahead of Mou for United, I want to chip in my opinion. See, Pep is a victim of his own success which led to his overhyped reputation. What is happening to Pep is as result of some deluded fans and the foolish press placing him on a pedestal that he's not meant to be, a result of the press making him a demi-god who can just waltz into any team and with a flick of a switch turn them to Barcelona of his era. It doesnt work that way. EPL is not Ligue 1. They didn't take into consideration the opponents he's about to face and the quality of the players at his disposal. Guardiola is not a fraud, you don't achieve what he has achieved being a fraud. He was just toooooooooooooo highly overrated. Now shît has hit the fan, they are being disappointed one by one. Did I wanted Pep ahead of Mourinho? Yes. Do I still want him at United? Another yes. But why did I want Pep ahead of Mourinho? I didn't want the likes of Pep, Ancellotti and Simeone ahead of Mourinho coz Mourinho is a bad coach. Nah. None of that. The reason I picked them was coz of Mourinho's attitude. He's known for falling out with his players and making enemies everywhere he goes. That's the first thing I considered. The likes of Pep and Ancellotti are known as Mr. NICE GUYS. I wanted a coach that won't be causing chaos for United, focused solely on returning us to our former glory. The second reason I wanted Pep is coz, I see Pep as someone with a vision, a mission or tactics of some sort, which he plans to imbibe into a club so that long after he's gone, the link of success is still unbroken. But Pep has his fault too. He's too tactical to his detriment. He doesn't like adjusting to some conditions temporarily so he can get what he wants at the end. It's among the reasons he's struggling now. City is not Barca, even if he wants to turn them into one, he'd take it slow and steady. He has to play to his team's strength. Then after the season, he can choose those that fits his ideologies and get those he needs. It's this his obsession of standing out and being a "tactical guru" that has seen him sack Hart to get Bravo who should be an upgrade on Hart, but he's not. Bravo keeps well for Chile, but when he's back at City, Pep forces him to pass instead of keeping. This is madness. All the great keepers from Zoff to Cech are renowned for saving shots not passing. Pep's obsession with tactics has seen City playing players in ridiculous position. Against Mochengladbach, at a time KDB was almost play as a wing-back. He tweaks a lot and it has led him into overworking his players. He has no second plan, all he does is attack and attack. I love attacking football more than defensive football, but a coach should know when to abandon attacking for at least one or two matches and safeguard his lead. In all, I'm happy he's struggling and I wish him more woes not coz I hate him but coz City is my eternal rival, their failure is a thing of joy. Secondly, I need the teams in top 5 to lose matches if I'm to make it to top 4. So long may his struggles continue. I wish him more failure. Nothing personal. |
landinfo:Bro, creativity alone won't win you matches. A good team needs someone as creative as Modric as well as someone that gives you 20+ goals a season like Lampard. When Vidic and Co marked Drogba out, Lampard popped up with the equalizer. Such players serve as goal threats and help reduce the burden on the CFs. Goals win you matches, creativity helps carve out spaces and incisive passes to break down teams. Football is not a one way lane. Different players bring different attributes to footie. Maldini doesn't have the shot power, free-kick ability or speed of Roberto Carlos, but he had his own defensive powers that made him stood the test of time. |

Kagawa10:I think he's a good striker but the praises he's getting is way over the top. This dude has scored against 21 of the 29 teams he's faced. That's a good record. I didn't want him at United coz we'd have to pay exorbitantly for him. I'm glad he's signed a new contract meaning he'll be costing up to 90m by now. A good way to make sure United don't waste another money on a player not worth it. |
elrony:Walahi, we need Carrick's permanent replacement. It's a taboo that our best holding DM is 36. Kai, we need to look forward and not keep recycling old men. |
Kagawa10:I don't know how we do it, but Kane doesn't score against us. He doesn't even play well against us. He's scored all the top dogs but United cage him all the time. It's a mystery to me. Long may it continue Sha. |
weedtaker:But Jose said he's adapting to a United style of attacking football since he's more defensive in the past. So since he wants to play an attacking footie, Aubameyang is the man for him. Ibra go soon turn 36 next year. We need a new striker. |
codedguy1:If someone hates you, there's nothing you can do to change his mind. Let him be, other United fans knows Herrera's true value for us. |
elampiro:If we're looking to get back to our former glory, then giving Ibra a new contract is a no-no. He holds up play very well, but his pace is a total turn off. Aubameyang or the Rashford of last season would've gotten two one-on-one chances with a better pace. Ibra needs to leave after this season. With Madrid on a transfer ban, Aubameyang should be our main target and we're good to go. |
How can anyone forget Rijkaard's team? That team had it all. The best team at that time. United were no match for them. The only team that fought Barca fire for fire was Chelsea. It's not even a football then, I call Chelsea-Barca matches of then, Grudge Match. There were deep-seated envy, rivalry, anger, fights, accusations and counter-accusations then. Chelsea would rather die than let Barca of Rijkaard win talk more of win easily. Same thing went for Barca. They hated each other and be it at Nou Camp or Stamford Bridge, there were no time for laughing. Both team fought to death. Apart from Chelshit, no team matches Rijkaard's Barca then. They gave birth to the beautiful football Pep enjoyed. Most of the Barca fans that joined Barca in my state and Nigeria in general traces their roots to Rijkaard's era of dominance. Without Rijkaard, Pep wouldnt have had the foundation to build arguably the best club team of time. Nigga, show that man some respect, abeg. |
Lana1:LOL. I for call you a prophet but after that match I knew Mourinho will play him after he defended him post-match. And to be honest, Fellani's substitution didn't cost us the match. It was Mourinho's stupidity in choosing the wrong squad that did. If he had chosen a better team with Pogba nowhere near the number 10 position, we'd have killed off Everton before they snatched a draw at the end. I still want Fellani off that team by season's end, though. |
raumdeuter:This is false. Just to win arguments, you're ready to throw just about anyone and anything under the bus. This is why I don't like some of your arguments. Only someone born circa 2003 - 2008 or non-avid fan of football will say what you said. Not someone with your weatlh of football experience. Before Rijkaard won the La Liga, Barca had gone 6 agonizing year's without any semblance of a trophy. 6 solid years. Barca didn't go a year without a trophy before Pep won his trophies. Before Rijkaard won the UCL, Barca had gone 13 solid years without one. And yet you're talking down on Rijkaard's achievements. Rijkaard's Barca was a very brilliant team with the best squad in it as at that time. The Team blew away opponents with ease. That team was so good with a certain Ronaldinho in it, that their bitter rivals, Madrid, gave him a standing ovation after a 3-0 butt-rape. The reason United scrapped away a victory against them was coz SAF took a leaf off Mourinho's book and parked a tremendous train [not even a bus] against them. If there's one of things I feel SAF got wrong in his career, it's not employing such tactic in the two finals we lost to Pep with arguably the best club team of all time. If SAF had ditched attacking football against Pep, maybe the stories would have been like against Rijkaard. Rijkaard team had the likes of Eto'o, Ronaldinho, Giuly, Deco, Edmilson, Puyol, Marquez, Xavi etc. Anyone that doesn't remember them started watching football from Pep's era. Yes, Pep's team will be remembered more, but don't try to talk down on the team Rijkaard built. Before Pep, they're the best team. One day Messi and Ronaldo won't be talk of the town, other stars will arrive. It's just the way life operates. Whatever Pep enjoyed started from Cryuff, made prominent and brought to the fore by Rijkaard, and perfected by Pep. Give him his honor. P.S: I'm not interested in the argument, just pointing out an error. I'm not among those that believe Pep is fraud. |
UniqueGem:Please ignore that guy. For someone that boasted he's ported to one German team like that when Mou signed for us, he's been unsurprisingly stuck in our affairs. Stalking and watching all United matches. He even knows what goes on in Mourinho's bedroom and his color of boxers. That's how much United's dîck is far up his throat. He's obsessed with us. |
BTW, with Zlatan about to be banned for that moment of madness, I fear for my attack. Rashford looks so outdated as a CF that I think he's gonna flop in that position. Mourinho needs to bring out the best in Rashford coz right now he's low in confidence as a CF. |
No more complaints from me. Looking forward to the next match. Still proud of my club. Shît happens, I gotta be optimistic. |
Can you guys stop with this 'our match was fixed' madness? Arent you pro-fixed match supporters ashamed or what? You mean United has been paid since SAF left to be failing woefully? So United is now poor that they've accepted to be joke of the league for few bucks? Which kain excuse be this? We drew coz of Mourinho's stupidity. Simple!! |
UniqueGem:More like he needs to be benched. I don't expect him to do extraordinary things, but at least show some passion. There's no zeal in him. No commitment. No hunger. Is this how he wants to win the WPOTY? I feel sad seeing such a talent going to waste. |
eph12:And who will give him the space to work? Opposition players? Coz Pogba owns the pitch? If he can't boss matches why waste £89m on him? |
Elxandre:Herrera would have played in that position and still show some determination, or give a better output. Pogba just didn't try at all. Even if he's bad in that position, he'd at least play with determination. He'd play for the team. Instead he's busy tryna show off. Displaying some dumb fancy footwork. No drive. No passion. No vision. In the first-half, the dude had the chance to pass right on front of Everton's 18-yard box, rather he acted like a demon possessed individual and tried dribbling 3 players in front of him, and they calmly dispossessed him. I don't know what that guy is good at TBH. |
Anyway, a draw is better than a loss. I'll make do with this draw than to lose it all. I pity Fellani though. With Mourinho's antecedents, I can say he's probably played his last match for United. I still don't blame him for our draw, Mourinho made all the wrong subs today. Looking forward to the next match. It's not over till it's over. This team is good enough to turn it around. I believe in this team. |
Take note of today, remind me in future. . . FOR £89M, POGBA IS A MONUMENTAL FRAUD, ONE OF THE BIGGEST OF ALL TIME. |
Elxandre: sinizia: |
afrodoc2:I miss David Gill. Only him would understand that for Madrid to back off FINANCIALLY from a deal, it's not coz they're poor, but coz that said player is not worth it. That Woodward is a financial mofo!! |
As for who cost us this match. . . It's nobody else but Mourinho. He's the one that bought an unbenchable Pogba. Having him on the team means he must play, and you must build your team around him instead of him playing to the team's strength. As if that's not enough, Mourinho has now played Pogba in the number 10 role for 4 matches, and as expected, he failed disgustingly in each occasion. This is the 5th trial I think, and he never fails to show he's Clueless in that position. Yet, Mourinho never learns. Make I no lie, we fans overhype the skills of these coaches. If Mourinho who prides himself as a seasoned coach can't see that Pogba has flopped badly as number 10 for us, then I wonder how he got his coaching badge in the first place. Mhiki and Mata in that role would have provided more spark and assisted Ibra to kill off the game earlier, but Mhiki was wasted on the wing and Mata, benched. Next big match, Mourinho will repeat the same mistake. SMH!! |
Anyone still want to dig up my post on Pogba? Where are the diggers? Still think I was hating on Pogba? My stance still stands. . . For £89m Pogba is a fraud. Bookmark my post. |
