Panther7:I hope it's true and Barca are willing to pay up to 180m for him. I say, sell him and get Eriksen fast. |
Oasis007:I don't think we are, but it's nobody's fault but Mou's. So, no excuses for him will be accepted. |
larride:You dey mind Oasis? Excuses already being made for Mourinho after 2 seasons, backed by cash even if it's not up to Pep's own. Mou has no excuse. If he renewed the contracts of deadwoods he complained about, then he has no excuse. |
eph12:Mourinho's number one problem @ embolden. Even if he refuses to accept responsibilities, if he doesn't use outdated and backward tactics, we'd have still been good. His outdated mentality is why he's okay playing a right-footed winger as our left full-back. No top club does that in EPL except backward Mourinho. |
JayKayMaybachz:Bale and his agent wan use us convince Madrid's new coach that he's highly sought after. Las las na to sign new contract after meeting with the coach while we end up not beefing up that RW position. Make Mou forget Bale coz Madrid no go gree let him and Ororo leave in the same TW. |
larride:I prefer Smalling to Maguire, but Maguire has better composure than Smalling. |
weedtaker:Na the way forward be this. Make Mourinho do as em like, but no excuse next season. Shikena. |
patrickmuf:Same here. I just don't understand the hype on that Maguire lad. Imagine 50m. Say na Sergio Ramos em be? He's okay but he's not a top defender jare. English medias overhype their players a lot, I pray Mourinho doesn't fall for the words of those hype men. Alderweireld is a better defender than Maguire. |
Graeme Souness believes England have been a “back-to-front team playing very basic football” at the World Cup.Souness reaffirming my analysis last night. Every complaint of mine repeated by Souness. I knew I was right when I said Alli and Lingard were no match for Modric and Rakitic. While the latter duo controlled the game, the former duo ran up and down cluelessly, more concerned with scoring than controlling the midfield in order to wrestle the initiative from the Croatians. England were more concerned with kicking the ball forward for Sterling to chase. They couldn't string passes together for 20 secs without kicking the ball up handing the momentum back to Croatia every time. No striker would thrive in that tactic, not even the best CFs out there. And Pep's fanboys were already cűmming in their pants blindly attributing England wins and style to Pep when England were not playing anything close to Pep's style. Odizeey, come read what I've been telling you since. |
odizeey:Run which riot? Aba Women Riot you mean? The only running Sterling did yesterday was headless chicken running alongside Lingard and Alli.
|
odizeey:Who were those defence? Panama? Tunisia? The quality of the defenders matters. The way they tore it apart matters more. England that can't string delicate passes for 30 seconds together were tearing defenders apart? How's that possible? Do you know apart from set pieces England scored I think only 2 goals from open play. The only defence they tore apart and bossed from start to finish was Panama. Even shame suppose catch you. Columbia took them to PK while Croatia, their first real test, battered and outclassed them from start to finish. Overhyped players!! Go rewatch the match and see as determination and great skills coupled with endless pressure exposed their mediocrity. |
raumdeuter:LOL. You forgot Unku ![]() |
When we said England have been playing weak teams and will be eliminated once a stronger opposition arrives, some people doubted us. First real opposition (excluding their match against Belgium), they're dominated and outclassed in ALL departments except for goalkeeper position because Pickford couldn't catch a break all night. England lost tonight solely because of Southgate's naivety, I'll explain. Southgate got both his formation and choice of players wrong. 1. Formation: the 3-man formation have been working against weak teams because none of the weak teams knew how to press well and put England's average and mediocre midfield to real test. Southgate went for a 3142 formation and it's all shades of wrong. When Conte used his 3-man defense, he played a 343 formation, with two defensively disciplined DMs in Matic and Kante. These 2 DMs act as an extra shield for the defense who will be left terribly exposed when the wing-backs who are expected to bomb forward, attacks. But Southgate started tonight's match with just ONE fuckîng DM against a midfield that contains naturally talented midfielders like Rakitic and Modric who CAN CONTROL THE TIDE AND FLOW OF A GAME AND CAN PASS UNDER GREAT PRESSURE AND IN TIGHT SPACES, ably supported by the workaholic Brozovic. But take a look at England's midfield cast. ALLI, LINGARD AND HENDERSON. How can you compare both midfield? Lingard is no CM, but a winger used sometimes as an AM by Mourinho. Even as an AM, he's more of a goal outlet than a midfield enforcer. Same applies to Alli who used as winger but can come in as an AM to play off Kane and score while. Both Lingard and Alli have midfield enforcers and controllers at their clubs in Pogba and the Denmark guy respectively, who can pass in tight spaces and give pass-splitting through balls. England sorely lacked ANY FORM of creativity tonight in that midfield. At point I was pitying them. What Southgate should have done was go for a 343 formation (if he'd wanted to persist with a 3-man defense)with 2 DMs, with Dier providing an added help to Henderson who was overran in that midfield, or go for 4231 formation with 2 DMs to reduce the endless wave of midfield pressure from Croatia; and while the more attack-minded Henderson move forward to attack occasionally, Dier would sit back to mop up loose balls. Which leads me to my next point. . . 2. Choice of players: I've said it before, I'll repeat it again, if Mourinho endorses Young as our first choice LB in the coming season, I'll confirm once and for all that Mourinho is outdated and living in past glory. Southgate is foolish for playing Young in an attacking set-up. All you need to understand what I'm saying is to go again and observe Rose's contribution immediately he came in and that of Young's. I doubt Young even whipped a single cross or did anything meaningful "attack-wise" till he left. Rose introduction lit up that left wing with his runs and within the short time on the field, he delivered some good crosses. Playing Young is a way of defending never attacking. Young attacks against average teams, against good teams, he spends his time defending all through. Alli and Sterling: these guys have been mediocre and shockingly poor all through out this tournament, England's wins have been their saving grace covering their assës. Amongst the duo, Alli has been the worse. I'll make an excuse for Sterling because like I pointed out before, Southgate is very naive and couldn't recognise that Guardiola used Sterling to a devastating effect as a RW in a 3-man forward, instead he forced him to SS position which meant he couldn't stretch opposition defenders with his pace, and most importantly, gave oppositions the chance to easily close him down and dominate him aerially. In fact, I remember the match against United, ahead of City's UCL return leg against Loserfool, Guardiola played Sterling as a striker in that game while giving Jesus and Aguero who's coming back from injury some needed rest ahead of a do-or-die match. Sterling singlehandedly cost City that match with his brainfarts and horrible misses till United were able to recover and win the game from 2 goals down. That match made me realise Sterling sucks as a striker or SS. Southgate repeated that mistake through out this WC but never bothered because he's intoxicated by the wins and the rubbish IT'S COMING HOME nursery rhymes being belted out by dreaming England fans. Coming home my black hairy ass!! The only thing coming home are the players and their luggages at Heathrow with shattered hopes and unfilled lofty dreams. Southgate should have changed to 4231 after seeing the enormous pressure England were under. All he needed to do was to attack some more to reduce the pressure and push Croatia back. He'd have achieved that by switching to 4231, removing Trippier and pushing Walker to the RB (Walker will give you the attacking prowess of Trippier and he's more defensively stronger than Trippier, so he's not going to miss Trippier going out except maybe his crosses), bringing Rashford, Rose and Dier to replace Trippier, Young and Alli. Rashford moves to the LW to run at the Croatians and keep them a bit pegged back, while Sterling keeps Strinic back by forcing him not to attack much to avoid getting caught off guard during counters. Dier provides more steel for Henderson who can bomb forward without fearing of leaving his defenders open to attacks. Rose replaces Young and together with Rashford puts the fear of God on that RB, forcing Rebic, Perisic and Mandzukic to fall back to defend, thereby giving a breathing space to Maguire and Stones and England's defence in general. Southgate was instead contented with the endless pressures on his team, hoping IT'S COMING HOME anthem will somehow make the Croatians have mercy on them or defend for them. Dumb move!! PS: Dayo is the biggest winner in this semi-final. Hazard shaku-shakus his way out of a possible WC win, while England got booted out. He'll be boisterous tonight and have the edge over EPL fans again. What a dose of double blessings for him. ![]() I'm officially moving to Team France. Pogboom, Kante and Mbappe, no fall my hands abeg. |
raumdeuter:This is the zenith of trolling.
|
sod09:Effect of Oshogbo weed while watching football. How can any sane person watch today's match and call Matuidi a waste pipe? He's one of Les Blues best player tonight. If not for him and Kante, Belgium would've wrecked havoc in that midfield. He's MY best French player tonight. |
Lana1:Whenever I read comments about winning the transfer trophy jabs aimed at United fans especially from Gayners fans, all I see are hypocritical statements borne out of hate, out of the fact that other clubs can buy a player they so much love but can't afford. The same Gayners (including others that type that bunkum) will be on this thread insulting Wengay for being too stingy and not buying a player they want. It smacks of hypocrisy and jealousy as they go from dreaming of buying a top player to denigrating United if we buy such players. Man City have out-spent all EPL teams in two seasons in a row, and not to mention of their massive spending in past years, but nobody mocks them of winning transfer window trophy. Barcelona bought Dembele and Coutinho in one season, their fans were happy, but Gayners didn't accuse them with that boring statements. If it's United now, you'll see them crawl out of their holes in droves talking about winning a transfer window. I mean, are fans of United supposed to be mourning when a player is signed? Are we supposed to keep quiet when we sign players or what? Imagine if it's us that have been discussing our imminent arrivals like these Gayners have been doing for a month now, we wouldn't have heard the last of it. They'd have been on our thread reciting their frustrations. |
dopeJemi:You sabi carry last sha. Old movie wey come out last year. It's quiet interesting, though. |
raumdeuter:Very incisive post. I agree with you. The only tough team England have met was Belgium and they lost. I seriously doubt England would've eliminated Brazil like Belgium did. |
larride:Pep's style influenced Spain's style of play but there's no single Pep's style in the way England plays. All credit should go Southgate's way and to some extent to various coaches like Pochettino, Mourinho, Pep, Conte who played their little parts with the players and formations. But attributing England success to Pep alone is the highest form of asslicking. |
raumdeuter:There's nothing to argue here, Scholes is just vomiting crap. Pickford doesn't pass or keep the way Ederson does, either for England or Everton. Walker plays as a RB for Shitty, Southgate converted him to a CB all on his own against earlier and still persisting public scrutiny. Pep has nothing to do with it. Southgate went for a 3-man defence with 2 wingbacks, something that Pep doesn't use at Shitty. If anything, Conte should be the one being praised for England's formation. Sterling doesn't even play like he does for City, in short he's having an average tourney. England doesn't play the Pep's way. Last match, Southgate pushed Alli into a midfield role away from his previous wing-forward role where he's underwhelmed, and it has nothing do with Pep but Southgate's thinking outside the box to get the best out of Alli. Scholes should get his head out of Pep's rectum. |
Lana1:Any love I had for Neymar vanished this WC. The greatest injustice in football history would've been Neymar winning this WC. In short, I'm already against Brazil winning the next WC if Neymar would play. Fucktãrd wanted to turn a physical competition into a swimming competition. I cussed Thierry for consoling the hediot. Even those under T.B Joshua's anointing dey learn work for that Oscar actor's hand. What a fool. Hopefully, PSG witness more UCL heartbreak with him on their books. |
My dream final will be between Belgium and England or Belgium and Croatia. Anyway, any remaining country can win it now that, that pathetic kid called Neymar is out. I can't remember the last time a single player made me hate a team so much like Neymar. What an obnoxious cùnt. Let him continue his diving lessons with Micheal Phelps in USA during his holiday period. Onye ara!! |
Greatihex:Lindelof eliminated yesterday, while Assnal have Welbeck on the wheels of bench for the 3 Lions. |
RuuDie:When Mourinho employs the route one football with Fellaini, two things are evident. 1. There will be little or no knocking of the ball around. 2. There will be influx of crosses left, right and center aiming for Afroman's head. Before or after Fellaini's goal, Belgium were still knocking the ball around and weren't just aiming numerous crosses Fellaini's way. |
RuuDie:Equalising with heading doesn't mean cross and nod route one football that Mourinho employs sometimes. |
RuuDie:So once Fellaini scored with header, it meant Belgium resorted to route one football? ![]() |
I'm happy Belgium won, but I feel genuinely sad for Japan. They didn't deserve to lose. |
Yes!! See sweet counter mehn. Ukaku with that sweet move. |
Tonight's not Ukaku's night. This keeper no wan gree for am. |
See as they dispossessed Fellaini easily. Apart from aerial prowess, Fellaini is average. |
I was telling my friends offline, Japanese players are short, Belgium should use deadly setpieces to out-manuever them. |
odizeey:These Japanese players are not tall, Belgium should exploit their heights. Goal ball Fellaini. United players repping hard. ![]() |
