Home and away, Roma attacked Chelsea. They missed chances in the first leg but stuck to their plan and got their reward in the second leg.

We go away to a top side, and no SINGLE BELIEF that this squad is good enough to take the fight and win at opponent's home. That mentality is poor. Until we change that mentality, we're not going anywhere.

It's not nonsense, it's our style of play that's nonsense. We have the perfect opportunity to pile pressure on a team that's low on confidence, but we decided to alow them breathe and gained confidence. City never allowed Chelsea to breathe but we are doing so. Same old shît. We go away to top teams and we don't believe we can take the fight to them. Smh

Compare City match and ours and see the difference. City never gave Chelsea the chance to carve them this open. They pressed and pass the ball fast and never allowed Chelsea the chance to press them. This Chelsea team is low on confidence, and after how Roma chased and pressed them, I don't understand why we didn't copy their style.

Lol...cant fail to notice, 2nd time Jose is throwing aspersions at Everton. Wetin those guys do am nau?
Mourinho was not casting any aspersions on Everton, people read too much meaning into every statement from Mourinho, and I can't say I blame them, though, Mourinho talks a lot.

Mourinho had no hidden connotations in that speech. Just like when he said the last time United were in the UCL, we crashed out of the group stages. Some medias were writing shît about Mourinho taking shots at LvG. But that's bullshït. Can't a man say the truth for once without these Einsteins reading meaning into every innocuous words? Didn't we crash out in the group stages that was deemed an easy group when it's announced after the draw? Haven't we almost qualify this time around? So when Mourinho praised his team for winning and saying we've improved since the last time we're in the UCL, was it not the cold hard truth?

Before this season started, Everton spent crazy money to upgrade their squad, and some people (not me anyway, coz I can't be deceived by those average players) genuinely thought they'd compete for the league or at least play better than they did last season, it turned out it's total waste of money. So, Mourinho was just affirming what many people had in their minds before Everton's struggles. I think he genuinely thought Everton will pose a big threat before this season started only to be shocked to see the team struggling.

Are you happy we lost. You sound happy we lost.
I can never run away from supporting the team because this is the only team I have supported all my life and I was here when we were in Liverpool's shadow and I was here when we were winning all sorts of trophies,so I will rain here through thick and thin because I can not support another club.
I decided to keep quiet because of the trolls running riot all over the boards because of this defeat. I watched the match and I have to tell you that when you go into a football game, there can only be three results-win,draw or a loss. We had a bad day at the office and all credit to Huddersfield, they played as if it was a cup final(their cup final)
We were not able to break through their defensive layers. It was a bad day at the office.
As a true fan I can never be pleased my team lost. I am sad about it but I am experienced enough to know you can not sit around mopping. So on to the next game in which I am sure Mourinho will rub some changes.

The only happiness I can say I had today was that I didn't watch the match. I can't begin to imagine how I'd have felt or the cuss words I'd have dished out if I had watched today's match. I'd have asked guys how we played today, but from the gloomy comments so far, I think I'll pass.

I don't know who to criticise, don't know who did well or bad, so I'll save my criticisms since I'm not gonna bother to watch the match or the highlights. But I must point out that it beats my imagine why Jose chose speed over creativity for our number 10 role, instead of speed on the wings (Lingard) and creativity behind Ukaku (Mata). Anyway, the deed is done. We move on.

I can see the leader of the "true fans" is no where to be found, alongside majority of the "true fans". What the "fake fans" complained about many weeks ago seems to be finally acknowledged after this loss.

The truth is, the signs were there for some time now, but the "true fans" were more concerned with the "3 points" we luckily amassed after each poor match. I remember what I typed about the "psyche" of these lads being affected with the belief that parking buses was the only option against top teams. I was scared about the momentum that might be killed if we don't capitalise on our earlier form and keep playing well.

If I begin talk, I go talk plenty. And I might end up lashing out at my fellow United fans whose posts on Mourinho and the team has shocked me severally in recent times. Akanot conman and kee masef. Lemme conman and be going.

Thanks for the piece. I always knew that sir ref nose was an old agbero. Now I realise he was a born criminal.

There was no way any of these soft players could have messed with a nigga like that. No wonder he used boot to bust Beckham's head at the height of his popularity and my dude couldn't say a word.

I hated the man during his time at Manyoo, but I can't deny his legendary status. I'm surprised they haven't even done a movie about him sef
The "thanks" deservedly goes to you and you alone. From the first day you introduced that website on this forum, my online footie life has never remain the same. I've read and learned so much from whoever it is behind those articles. I stalk that website on weekly basis trying to read legendary stories I never witnessed.
A huge thanks for blessing me with that site.

On Ferguson, I knew the capone had temper issues, but I never knew it was worse than I thought till I read that article. Ferguson was an agbero no be say you talk am. I was shocked reading the bloody route and life he had as a footballer. The insults, revenge etc. No wonder he was attracted to brutal players like Keane. Fergie raised more fighters than players during his rookie years. Lol.

That man na real werey. That piece made me realise Fergie had done worse way back and all the recent behaviours of his I knew had been more prominent in his younger years.

The refusal of upcoming United players from driving fancy cars was seen when he was angry his player, Roughvie was on a newspaper front page posing on a fancy bike he forced him to sell the bike off. Lol.

He fined his player for simply overtaking him on a route. Hahahaha.

Then entered inside the pitch on a pre-season game to play and fight against his team's opposition.

He allowed his player to take the match ball home after scoring a hat-trick then force to relinquish the ball.

The funniest part of that article was this story:

Some of his behaviour could be harsh and downright unfair. “I was aggressive and demanding and I suspect not everyone enjoyed it, but it made the players into men and increased their profiles,” he wrote. As ever, what really got him going was drinking. One Friday night, Strachan saw him drive past his house to check he was still in. Ferguson generally encouraged his players to settle down early and, while most did, the exceptions were particularly vulnerable. One was Cooper, who was once handed a drink in a bar, only to see Ferguson appear out of nowhere.

“What’s that you’re drinking?” Ferguson asked him.

Cooper started sweating.

“Oh, eh, it’s Coke.”

Ferguson came closer. He smelt the drink and looked at him.

“That doesn’t smell like bloody Coke to me.”

“It is, it is Coke,” Cooper stuttered.

Ferguson took a sip. Then he moved even closer, and said in a low voice:

“You’re dead.”

“What?”

“You’re dead. Monday morning…”
LOL. I read that piece with so much laughter and admiration for that man. If Ferguson was playing in this modern times with all the strict rules, he'd have gone poor from monthly or weekly fines, or quit out of frustration earlier than at 32 years of age when he retired from playing. My respect for Fergie really went up reading that article. He was truly a legend of EPL and the game. A fiesty displinarian, full of anger and cuss words but nonetheless a great coach.

A deep, inspirational, well-thought out history about the legendary Sir Alexander Ferguson. Well-researched article that gives you a deeper understanding into the life of the legend and how he was able to build his career from scratch before he caught the eye of United board.

His temperaments, doggedness, tantrums, determination to usurp powers that football fans are normally okay with, all well summed up in this piece. It's a long read I must tell ya, but I assure you once you start, you won't stop till the end.

Maybe JM has a better idea of Mikki's mental fortitude( or lack of it) and does not want to crush his confidence. Sometimes players play through bad form until they regain their form so JM might keep playing him (as long as it does not affect results) with the hope that he will regain form down the line.

That is the only explanantion i can give.
This is a sad situation coz he's meant to supply the killer passes and link our attack with defence, but he's not doing it. The worst part is that there are no creative players fit. Pogba and Carrick are injured. Mhiki still refuses to step up. The chances are no longer there and no Pogba to help out.

Nah. I will never pray for injury for any United player, would rather pray that he regains form or that the manager sees the light to bench him until he regains same.
1) It will affect our squad depth
2) That is his livelihood, i won't pray to take another man's food from him.

Mikki is one major reason Lukaku has been isolated in our last few matches. In this new found defensive set up his major function in the line up is to serve as the bridge between the rest of the team and Lukaku and in that respect he has been a failure so far. JM has to try Lingard and Mata in the starting line up and see how that pans out.

I was way overboard with that post, but it's borne out of frustration. I'm just tired of seeing Mhiki ghosting in matches and still starting matches. If Mourinho can't bench him, injury might be the only solution to give someone else a chance. Mhiki has been glaringly poor but Mourinho doesn't see it. I don't just understand.

As I said Jose can play his team any way it suits him and as long as the team gets the job done,I am with him 100%.
What is the essence of playing open attacking football and ending up with a 3-3 draw on your home ground like Chelsea?
Ha!Ha!
Play dirty football, play ugly football but get the damn job
I will always take three points over one point any day.
Playing ugly football, playing anyhow kind of football doesn't always mean it'll get the job done. People like you that claim to be 'true' fans actually know nothing about club, or doesn't have the best interest of the club at heart.

See, when we the fake fans see some displays by our players or poor tactics by the coach and complain, most times we do it out of love. We do it coz we want better and deserve better. We see beyond "the match" presently and think of how such kind of display "in the future matches" will turn out, especially if we want to go far in elite competitions.

We the fake fans complain and criticise coz we know we won't be meeting the Swanseas and Huddersfields after the UCL groups stage, therefore if we want to sustain a credible fight for UCL glory, we need to play better. We deserve better. How do you think we'd fare with that sort of Anfield performance against the Real Madrids and Barcelonas? See beyond your nose and that our concerns are genuine, and we care more about the club than you.

I remember when few people started bashing Mhiki, people like you thought it's out of hating. But gradually everybody saw the truth about that ghost. What we the "fake fans" out of genuine care and concern saw then is what the "true fans" like you was blinded to coz you're only after the "results" against average sides. You didn't care to see that Mhiki was fading.

Keep on criticizing Jose. The true United fans are enjoying this.
If I had wanted, I'd have criticised the team and I still wouldn't be wrong neither would it had made me a "false" fan. It wasn't a good performance by the team especially in the first-half, but I chose to dwell on the positive side, plus it's a better display against a team whose defence was solid. Our midfield was not functioning well no thanks to Mhikitaryan that can't protect Hererra and Matic, or link up with Ukaku, leaving him isolated as always.

overall it wasn't a great performance but it's better than the shît we served at Anfield, saying it won't kill you. You're not more "true" a fan than anyone here.

No commendations for getting an important away win, and on the brink of qualification, no praise for Matic who gave a 9/10 performance. No mention of Rashford who scored with an excellent ball despite the keepers error and get injured, only condemnation for his few mistakes (which is ok though) no mention of Our Defence which keep plugging away with clean sheets. It's seems we only wait to latch onto errors and whine about them endlessly and keep mute when we do well.
Ball Possession 70-30 but no one is talking about it.
I am just surprised Sha. Only sinizia was able to give some credit.
Matic was without a shadow of doubt our best player. He anchored that midfield superbly. Safe for one or two time wasting on the ball when quick release of the football would've been better, he's on point today. If we can win the return leg, we'll be sure of qualification and probably top the group.

Blind was poor tonight. Attack wise he's extremely poor, defensively, hes unstable. It's bad when Young performs more than a natural LB. We really need a solid LB so so badly.

Benfica tried a lot, but they lacked quality players to breach our goalie or defence. I was impressed by Lindeolf and Smalling tonight. Both put in a good defensive shift. Matic performed nicely too.

Mhiki had a stinker as always. Rashford running more than his senses. Martial performed better when he came in.

Overall, I was a bit impress with our play and possession compared to the Loserfool match. 9 points gained. We March on.
