Leyqute: True that. Lukaku should've buried that chance but I'm not even pissed at him for that. It's the fact that he couldn't trouble Liverpool's defenders that irks me. Some strikers shorter and smaller than him would've shown those 2 CBs hell today.
But like you said, shii happens. We cannot come and go and kill awasef. Ukaku is not at fault for not troubling their defenders. How's it going to trouble their defenders without help, without the ball, with no assistance? We're defending and you expect Lukaku to take the ball from defence and dribble Loserfool players? Mourinho isolated Ukaku with his ultradefensive approach. |

afrodoc2: Tactical masterclass ko, magical masterchef ni.
We were saved by a combo of bad finishing and super goalkeeping. The tactics mainly helped in crippling our attack and giving us only one decent chance, luckily Liv squandered their plethora of chances.
The issue is not even whether the tactics worked or not, the problem is why does JM season after season deploy bus parking tactics against this mediocre Liverpool side? This side with part time defenders who were made to feel like Baresi and Maldini today. We didn't gain 1 point today, rather we lost 2.

Leyqute: Agreed Liverpool had no good strikers, but we did defend okay. They had 19 shots, 5 were on target. It's not even the 5 shots that worried me; there were times in the game when Loserfool made some incisive crosses too easily in our box but no striker to bury it. Chicharito would've scored one of those unconnected crosses. It wasn't a defensive masterclass from us but I'm happy with the point. |

In a game where everybody is hailing the keeper as the MOTM, the guy still thinks tactics are the reason for the cleansheet Some people have their head far up Mourinho's azz. Our defence was shaky. Lots of time, we're breached, we just have DDG and no good striker from Loserfool to thank for. |

adisaaowala: I think it's down to Mourihno's default mindset not to concede 1st (and lose this match) - from all indications, he wouldn't mind a draw & a win would probably be an icing on the cake!
The only problem I have with his tactics is that we aren't looking to break on the counter at all - Lukaku is so isolated upfront Exactly my umbrage with this defensive tactics. Players like Rashford that can counter are on the bench while Mhiki starts. Right now, I pray for a draw. |

Matic dispossessed a Loserfool player but due to our defensive tactics, nobody was moving forward for him to pass to and he ended up losing the ball. This is one of the reasons TOO defensive tactics sucks so much. |

Since Mou came with defensive mindset, the lads better get a Draw coz it'll be a total waste of time to lose after the whole defensive set-up.
This team can't defend, I don't mind Mourinho bringing Rashford and Lingard and attack or try to counter attack coz we're not even defending well. Attack this guys or defend hard and counter attack. But we can't even counter coz no fast forward to counter with. |

Mou needs to tweak this tactics , Lukaku has been isolated upfront so far. 3-5-2 would've solved all these issues. This Loserfool defenders are not good enough, we just need to attack them and chances will come. One man forward is not good against top team of the wingers can't support |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by sinizia: 1:27pm On Oct 14, 2017 |
We need to bring in Rashford to that attack. Our attack is not sharp enough. I was thinking Mourinho would've gone for a 3-5-2 formation - compact midfield and double-headed attack. Leaving Ukaku all alone puts extra concentration on him from Loserfool defenders. |

dubylhover: micki benched?? the only midfielder we have who can run and move with the ball? yes he's had a dip in form but I sure as hell won't bench him and I don't expect mou to That midfield needs someone that can help the team to defend when we're under barrage of attacks, Mhiki is lazy to do that. We need someone that can balance his attacking outputs with a bit of a defensive one, and Mhiki is hardly the name that readily comes to my mind for that job. |

CapitalCee: You did very well to explain to funlord what diggz meant which is correct. But wetin I no like for this your comment is that REPEATEDLY wey you just de put upandan. Rashford immediately took his Chance and sustained his "repeated" inclusion into the team with justified performances. His first 2 matches he scored 4goals, scored in his Manchester derby debut with outstanding goals, I also remember one goal like that outside the box versus westham. So he wasn't given a chance REPEATEDLY, he EARNED it rather than GIVEN. Ok, I agree he earned it, but after his debut, he played against Arsenal the next match because we're STILL in a striker conundrum. So that second match can be termed as GIVEN as well not earned. Do you agree with me that if it's in this era which Ukaku is fit and firing and maybe with Zlatan back, after that debut 2 goals, Rashford would've been back to the bench while the more reliable Ukaku starts? This is truth. It's after that Arsenal match that LvG realized Rashford was better than any of our CFs then. That Arsenal match was where he earned and sealed his starting berth. That match proved to all that we'd a good striker on our hands and the rest is history. |

Lana1: Ah. LVG na madman. Who can ever forget when he played Di Maria as Striker and Rooney as CM.. Or when we dey find goal against Southampton at OT and he subbed in Shaw..
Madman LOL. I gave up on him when he chased away all our attackers and placed his hope on Rooney ALONE to lead our attack. Under LvG we had the worst attack among elite teams. LVG acted like goals don't win matches hence no need for quality strikers. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by sinizia: 6:45pm On Oct 10, 2017 |
Ibime: LVG even played Depay at CF over him. Now we are hearing different stories.
Rashford was rated the 4th best striker in Utd youth team behind Wilson, Keane and Fletcher, and the 8th best striker in the club. I read it korokoro with my own eyes in an interview with a Utd youth coach.
It took 7 injuries for Rashford to get his chance, that is fact. He was 4th in youth system and 8th in the club overall.
Rashford was not highly rated anything. His youth career stats is barely worth a mention against Solanke/Abraham who were threatening 50 goals a season at under 21 level, nor against Musonda who carried Chelsea to numerous youth league, FA Cups and UEFA youth Cups as the star player alongside RLC. If Rashford see these guys today, he will still rankadede based on youth levels. I concur. |

Leyqute: Sadio Mane out for six weeks with a hamstring injury. Liverpool are looking less dangerous. They still have Courtinho though, who can cause damages. It's up to De Gea to stop him.
I just pray Mourinho won't be overly cautious and put everybody on defense duties, attackers included. He needs to start Martial who will be fresh and fully fit since he wasn't involved in any game during the break. He combines better with Lukaku and he's also more potent than Rashford at the moment. If Coutinho fit injure as well, I'll be very happy. This Fellaini injury dey pain me die. I was hoping for a Matic-Fellaini-Hererra midfielder tripod with Mhiki benched, but the goddamned Martinez went and played Fellaini in a useless game after the team had qualified. Killing needs to be legalised, seriously. |
