I am not a pro on this matter but I did a little research on it. So for those asking if you can use one-way ticket for PTA, please read this from Sterling Bank's website.
And please, if you have first hand information on this, do well to share.

Jay316: I have 10k CAD in my GIC and my brother is my sponsor. moreover, Since I have an account in my name iin Canada through my G.I.C, I am thinking of approaching my bank for living expenses for my schooling once I am enrolled. If am not successful I will just use the money I have to pay my school fees using form A.My brother is in Canada and so in addition to my G.I.C I may be covered. I wont be traveling with more than 1k or even 500USD .my proof of funds at port of entry is my G.I.C and tuition payment plus my brother's letter of support Oh I see. That makes a lot of sense. All the best then. |

Have you reported to your (own) bank that receiver is claiming non receipt of funds?? If not, call your bank while you wait and report that. If there were any issues from NIBSS, that would be resolved and this office people can help you. Because, if truly they didn't receive the money, nothing the airline can do about it. Electroweb: ANNOUNCEMENT ! ANNOUNCEMENT! The eagle has landed! Study permit approval and in possession announcement. We thank God for giving us this visa. He gave us the knowledge to navigate through the maze of Canada study permit application. He will not share his glory with anybody. I say this because we tried using Immigration Lawyer from Canada but the conditions in their letter was not palatable to us. We also tried using a consultant in Nigeria, even paid consultancy fees. At the end we were discouraged and went in on our own. I also felt I could give the application a personal touch. I am my spouse put head together to draft the LOE. God used some nice people in this forum to answer our questions.
Main applicant is my spouse. Applied for Visitor visa for our 18month child. Our child’s visa is not yet out but we are believing in God. I heard that all those that applied for Visitor visa before August are advised to reapply.
Timeline Second time applicant. Was denied last year Admission deferred to this year. A 2yr diploma course. Medical done 12th May 2021 (not sure of the date though unless I check but it was upfront) Application date 14th May 2021. Correspondence letter 8th September 2021 Original passport request 8th September 2021 Sent passport through courier 15th October 2021 Correspondence letter 22nd October 2021 Passport received from courier 28th October 2021
Documents submitted Letter of explanation Sponsor letter( payslip, 4 month bank statement, employment letter, id card) 4 month Family Business Bank statement Marriage certificate Nursing registration Referral letter from my spouse’s “pro bono” beneficiaries SSCE result Commercial invoice of goods in warehouse Birth certificate of child Company registration documents C. V Letter of acceptance
Travel history USA and UK
My opinion, It is God that will decide if it will turn out positive or not because He sees the future. The race is not to the swift or the smartest. The documents we submitted are basic but it was meant to be. Just as our faces are different, the same way our application will be different. Copy and paste doesn’t work in this case. Congratulations to you and yours. |

Frankalvinz: Landing gist
Day of Travel - 30th Sept Arrival Day - 1st Sept Flight name - Royal Dutch Airlines (Lufthanza) Stops - Lagos -> Amsterdam -> Ontario
I arrived at the Lagos airport at 5pm against my flight of 10:45pm, none of my bags were checked because my cousin knew some of the airport officials (note that i was carrying a lot of food stuffs), i weighed my 2 luggages which were approved. I was asked for all my travel Documents, School Documents, ArriveCAN receipt and COVID19 test result. I also had to fill one yellow card stuff with my details and submit to them. After all this brouhaha, I proceeded to my Flight gate, where i waited till my flight time.
The flight from Lagos to Amsterdam was approximately 12hrs or so (can't remember), we landed in Amsterdam where i proceeded to my next gate after series of checks from airport officials. Omoh, the Wi-Fi at this airport fast die, its free and you have Unlimited usuage.
We left for Canada after 3 hrs, omoh all their food tire me. I arrived at Canada around 12pm Canadian Time (5 hour behind Nigeria), did some checks after which we proceeded to immigration officers for our official study permits. After which we went to get our luggages (these guys manhandled alot of luggages, i could not even recognize one of my luggages after passing by it 15 times). (This part is for unvaccinated travelers) We proceeded for the Covid19 tests (register at Switchhealth.ca to avoid the long queue). After this, you would be handed the Day 8 home test kit. Then you're free to go to your choice of quarantine.
You can change dollars to CAD at the airport when you land, just don't change everything on you cos their rates are high compared to banks.
Note; 1) Please if you can get your Covid19 shots in Nigeria before coming over, DO IT! To avoid stress. 2) Register for your SIN immediately you get your study Permit, because you will need this number if you want to work.
Throw me with your Questions, if it's something i can handle, I'd let you know. Good luck on your PPR journey! Thank you for sharing. I discarded that Airline after a testament of their meals. May Canada favour you and us all. |

CalcreteJB: considering that they have treated your passport. What will sending through webform mean now? Will they recall the passport or it will aid renewal when by next year May when this issued one expires.
I already have the new LOA but I didn't just upload, should I upload now because my passport has also been treated. I really do not know for certain, but I'm sending mine so at least they have a record of it. Just incase. Didn't send my LOA because I hadn't and still haven't received it from the school. |

CalcreteJB: Which means, one has to print along the new LOA, I fall into the same category here, mine though will expire by November ending 2022 and I deferred to January 2022 from Sept 2021 Yes, I plan to send my via webform once I receive it from my school so I don't have issueson arrival in CA. For some reason, its been taking ages to be sent. |

EstherAda92: Please pardon me, I didn't get you correctly with d 2nd paragraph can you rephrase. I nor too go school na Engineer I be Lol. So I applied for a study permit in December, 2020 using an acceptance letter from my school for May 2021 intake. My Application took 10months to be completed and I never sent my deferred acceptance letter to IRCC, hence they worked with what they had (May 2021) making the counterfoil on my page to expire a year after the start date on my acceptance letter. My course is a one year course. Hope this helps. |

makano: Hello Esther
1. You can actually get your Visa stamped without submitting the biometrics slip , you just have to submit other documents that they require..
Kemmyk, you can see why I earlier posted that you should tell the house how you got your passport stamped without Bimotrics slip, cos I know many people will still ask this question... 2. Your Visa expires a year after it has been stamped on your PASSPORT.. And your Passport hasn't been stamped yet, and this is October, meaning you are safe..
You would have left Nigeria before it expires Next Year OCTOBER OR NOVEMBER depending on when your Passport will be stamped...
Peace On this, I'd like to say that. If you didn't provide an updated acceptance letter from your school, IRCC would make your visa valid till the last month of your study. I'll use my application as an example. I applied with May 2021 acceptance letter and never updated it. My counterfoil has a May 2022 expiry date. |
