well just keep applying for PhD positions. you might be lucky. you may want to consider applying for another masters too. its easier to get phd positions when you have a masters there kayvinci: Hello guys, recently came across this interesting thread. I have a masters degree in economics and I am interested in a PhD programme. What do I need to do as regards, I will like to connect with people working towards a PhD admission. |

lol why should the person avoid coming to Finland? what did you see that people pass through? c'mon dont discourage the guy abeg. presiade: You'll still have a chance in some US and Canadian universities, just try to engage in some research activities and maybe submit articles for publishing. Just avoid coming to Finland, If you must travel out of Nigeria... Just a brotherly advice for you. I have been there (though I have a good experience due to over smartness), but I see what people pass through, but most of them won't tell you what they experience in order not to discourage you. |

Ok. But I insist dumping cash is not allowed from my experience. And yes I have renewed as a student once from Nigeria and 3 times inside Finland and at every instance was asked to explain source of income. I know many people who were denied cuz their sponsor couldn’t explain the source of money he gave them. I have also been told to explain the source of every fund in my account even up to 200 euro refund from a friend. So I will not advise anyone to ‘dump’ money. The sponsor you used might have a bank balance enough to make the amount he ‘gave’ u negligible aeboiy: I paid my cash into my account and I claimed my uncle is my sponsor, the money never reflected in his account. The only place people have problem is when you claim Mr. A is your sponsor and Mr. B was the one that transferred money to you. Perhaps, its not a must you use sponsor. I know many people who did not use sponsors. And what I meant by "it doesn't matter" is: dumping cash is allowed. |

i suggest you use your school address as the address in Finland. for accommodation, your school should have included how to apply for that in your admission letter. student housing agencies are usually the cheapest around. so you should apply if you have not done so already gabriel88: One is an address in Finland and the other Nigeria. I. Need clarification. Secondly, how can I get accommodation? |

Use your present address as your address gabriel88: Morning house, I seriously need update and help. All thing being equal, admission gotten, placement given and payment made. But I'm confused as to when I want to apply for RP. In the form there is need for residential accommodation/address. Please how do I go about this? And how can I get a cheap accommodation over there and address to use for my RP. TREAT AS URGENT PLEASE. |

no kofoironic: Okay....... Do you know of anyone who borrowed money from a bank and used it to process Finland RP? |
Travel › Re: Studying In Finland (free Tuition) by sirkezman: 6:56pm On Jul 17, 2018 |
Loan from official sources e.g banks and lending houses are considered secured source of income because there is official documentation but borrowing from people isn’t considered as being secure kofoironic: How? Please clarify |
Travel › Re: Studying In Finland (free Tuition) by sirkezman: 12:20am On Jul 17, 2018 |
They consider it secured. kofoironic: Borrowed money = source of sustenance not secured. |

yes there are Part Time jobs. might be difficult to get at first but you'll survive. some people 'rush' their courses and move to helsinki to work for the summer and raise enough funds for their permit renewal, some get good paid internships in school or elsewhere, either way, you will survive. kofoironic: This is for the people who already study in Finland. How did you get money to renew your residence permit? Could you find a Job? Is your second year a sad experience?
Please answer. The Finland Forum paints a depressing picture. |
Travel › Re: Studying In Finland (free Tuition) by sirkezman: 7:54pm On Jul 15, 2018 |
well, even if the money was borrowed, you just need a payment plan. kofoironic: Where did the 'Dumped money' come from? That is what they will be most concerned about... If it is from your sponsor (parents or whoever) How did the sponsor get the money? .... They will look at the paper trail.... Did the sponsor borrow the money they gave you? They'd look at all that....... Just have the paper to show the money was not borrowed and where it is gotten from can be proven. |

they do care. you have to explain the source of funds in your account. so yes if your parents are the one sponsoring you, you need to have their bank statements showing when they transferred the funds to your account aeboiy: They don't care, all they need is to see the money there. And try to leave it there till you pick up your trp |

Thank God for this forum. If not, many people would have fallen into error, and those who were denied the first time, like I was, might have just given up, or wasted time and energy trying to appeal. I reapplied and was granted.

amen. just that decisions are made in finland and not abuja so dont really take this to heart frankie2K: Hello house. I did my interview on the 18th of July. Thank God they did not ask me about the bank issue. I obeyed Olabode advice. I was interviewed by a young beautiful lady. The naija ladies were not harsh to me. During the interview the software to ask me questions could not open as confirmed by the lady. She said she will use my written answers instead and made her recommendations. What sweet me was after the interview she told me that the RP will be ready in 2weeks time and she will write me on how to collect it. God be praised |
