onile0500:
PDP SENATORS PASS VOTE OF CONFIDENCE ON SENATE PRESIDENT

Some senators of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party have restated their confidence in the President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, in spite of the disagreement over Rotimi Amaechi’s confirmation as minister on Thursday.

The senators, who are members of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said they would also continue to support Saraki as he faced his trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal.

One of them, Gershom Bassey, said that there was no rift between the senators of the PDP and their All Progressives Congress (APC) counterparts in the red chamber, adding that the PDP senators still had confidence in Saraki’s leadership.

Bassey said that the senators may disagree on issues, but that such disagreements were healthy for legislation.

“We have had two votes of confidence on him and they stand. He has the confidence of the senate and there is absolutely no problem. In spite of the disagreement between the APC and PDP senators, nothing has changed. In democracy, people must have different points of view and we must express those points of view.

“The senate is a vibrant senate that has a lot of vibrant debates; the Senate is not a football team that we all have to play in the same direction,’’ he said.

According to him, in the senate, we can play in different directions and still score the goal; I think the more debate there is in the senate, the more vibrant it is.

“We must continue to discus different points of view; it is important that we have different points of view, but that does not mean we are enemies,’’ Bassey said.

He revealed that the major disagreement was not the petition against Amaechi, but the move by APC senators to flout the rules of the senate and confirm the nominee without considering the report on him.

He said that PDP senators did not see any reason for the rush to confirm Amaechi, adding that PDP would never be part of any move to disobey the rules of the senate in favour of anyone.

On his part, Sen. George Sekibo (PDP Rivers East) said that PDP members at the upper chamber walked out to protest the refusal of the senate to discuss a committee’s report on Amaechi, insisting that they would not go back on the decision.

Sekibo, who submitted the petition against Amaechi to the senate shortly after the former governor was nominated by President Muhammadu Buhari for ministerial appointment, said that PDP senators had made their position known.

According to him, it is now left for Nigerians to know what to do.

On Saraki’s assets declaration trial, he maintained that PDP senators were solidly behind him.

“The Code of Conduct case is against an individual and not APC. We gave him our support in the spirit of esprit de corps. As far as senators are concerned, what happened yesterday has passed; we are not working for political parties, but for the entire nation.

“When the time comes to express the wish of your people, you do that and that is what we did yesterday. We didn’t get it, so we let it go so that the country can move forward; we cannot hold the country to ransom,” he said.

Christianity EtcRe: Pope US Visit Proves Nigerian Pastors Wrong!!! by sirkezman: 9:58am On Oct 04, 2015
so any one who has a contrary opinion to yours is gullible? says a lot about you! talking ill about pastors wont do you any good. is your life perfect with God? do you lie, fornicate or do any wrong doing? if yes, then i have a bible verse for you.. Oh Ye hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye

Afterall everyone will give an account of himself with God.. who is the judge!

paris10:
The Pope's US visit was a triumph in upholding Christ teachings. If anything, one thing it does teaches us is that you don't need a private jet, nor a limousine nor even the most expensive carrier to ride in to do God's work.

It teaches us humility in the face of plenty, humbleness in the face of pride, and godliness to silence the greedy and the new generation pastors we have been condoning.

Creflor Dollar needed a $65,000 jet to do God's work ( his congregation are currently donating the money ). Adeboye, Oyedepo et al also need this amount of money to do God's work. Pope rode in a $20k mini series car. He specifically demanded this because " as a man of God you cannot live confortably and ride the most expensive cars whilst the children of God are suffering".

Over to the gullible Nigerian pastors defenders.

yea you have tried bro. but how abt getting a refund for ur ticket n use dat for a new application?

sureb0y:
I just checked my account balance sef. I don't have enough money to reapply and no one is willing to help at d moment. Aiico 32k, 67k rp fee. 10k transport to Abuja and back. That's like 110k. Money in my acct's about 1.5m now. If I remove from it to pay for these things, I won't have enough balance to meet the 6720 euro ish again.
I'm calling the whole ish off. Spent a lot already. That's all. cheesy I tried my best. Maybe it just wasn't my way.

yes bro. thats why i said u shd contact the sch. if you still have time, reapply.
sureb0y:
I'm considering re-applying. I don't know if I've been banned or not. It wasn't stated. I don't know if I should just lock up and move on with my life. @dondaddycares suggested a fresh application while there's still time. I'm seriously considering his argument, it makes sense. What do u think? To lock up or re-apply? Give reasons please.
TravelRe: Studying In Finland (free Tuition) by sirkezman: 1:01pm On Sep 22, 2015
Gutted to hear this bro. and even worse to know that appeal decision can take a long time. you should contact your department to know the latest day you can resume, if u have enough time, u can reapply, if not consider deferring your admission if you have that option

sureb0y:
Dear Sir/Ma,
Concerning the revocation of my residence permit, I just got back from the Embassy of Finland in Abuja. Although, I have received the decision, it's in Finnish Language. I asked for an explanation of the whole thing to be translated to me, I was told to contact you for an English version as no one would translate it to me at the Embassy. I got a fairly accurate translation using google translate and I must state here that I found the whole decision and reasons for refusal unbelievable.I am guessing I got the wrong translation.

It was stated that I DELIBERATELY tried to con my way around the system and use dubious means to secure the residence permit and after investigations at the Embassy in Abuja, you decided to revoke the residence permit.

1. Are you revoking my permit because you do not accept insurance certificates from mutual benefits assurance plc? if yes, why did the embassy of finland recommend the company?
2. Do you accept insurance certificates from mutual benefits assurance plc but revoked because you think I sent a forged version? if yes. Did the authentication by the said company mean anything at all? They contacted the embassy of Finland numerous times to let them know THEY issued the insurance certificate. I would like to know how this is my fault. You wrote the decision in Finnish.

The law was to get an insurance policy which would pay 30,000 euros for health related issues, the same insurance policy was to be from the ONLY TWO ACCEPTED INSURANCE COMPANIES IN NIGERIA (according to what was sent to me from the Embassy of Finland, Please see attachment). Now you are saying you do NOT accept that kind of insurance policy? When you were the ones who instructed me to bring THAT insurance policy?

I was told: we're considering revoking your residence permit because we think it did not come from Mutual Benefits Assurance PLC (we accept mutual benefits insurance certificates, but we don't think this one came from them), prove to us that this insurance policy came from them and you're good to go. After the proofs came through, the refusal letter stated that you're revoking the residence permit because you do not accept that kind of insurance policy (meaning you are not accepting insurance certificates from mutual benefits assurance plc?).

I believe I have a right to know what the refusal letter was all about, please send an English version as I believe I was not judged fairly. I would like to go ahead with an appeal.

Sincerely,
Me

i stand to be corrected but this doesnt seem right. talking about finnish way of doing things, then u'll know you have to remind them often. so sir, this is technically wrong. a student resuming in september cannot be considered to be desperate for asking for the decision. granting a permit is never a privilege. it is your right!

enitan2002:
It's a pity no one advised you against sending several emails to the embassy then, and if someone had done that I'm sure you wouldn't listen to voice of reason. If you had known the Finnish way of doing things, you'd have sat back and relaxed and wait till the embassy takes its time. Your several emails to them shows an act of desperation, granting you a permit is a privilege and not a right.
TravelRe: Studying In Finland (free Tuition) by sirkezman: 4:37pm On Sep 18, 2015
yours is a special case bro. you cant just conclude like that. even those that were denied were not told to come. so keep your fingers crossed till you get there on monday.
sureb0y:
I'm thinking: If the decision is positive, they would have just sent the whole stuff to me plus the RP card using the "return courier service" I pre-paid for. For them to say I have to be there by myself and also that they included instructions for appeal, It's just pointing towards something not very good.

With all this said, Do you think I should sue the insurance company for damages?

1. This whole thing is their fault
2. They acknowledged that they issued my insurance certificate from an alternative portal, because their main portal was down on the day I came to get the insurance insurance that's why the insurance certificate I submitted looked different from what they had.

As per say na Naija, I don't know if this is a case worth pursuing.

Update on my case:

NOTHING.

That immigration guy for embassy, he talked to me last Tuesday saying. "We have forwarded the proof from d insurance company to the schenghen authority and they have replied. We have forward their reply and everything to the Finnish Immigration service that's Migri and we're waiting to hear from dem anytime from now"
When I asked him to give me a time frame, he said "that should be this week".
The week don pass o, this new week is almost ending, still nothing from dem. Weird people.

I wish I had something to say, absolutely nothing.

Only good news is: my lectures don't start until 18th of October. Although d registration deadline for one of the courses is tomorrow, apart from that, I won't be too affected by late resumption.
My HOAS issue is another worry, as it is... I guess they'll cancel my tenancy cos I never go claim d room/pay house rent. What a shame, I got a great apartment. 2 mins walk to d station, 13 mins to campus by bus abi na train sef. Mtchewww.

RomanceRe: How I Caught Her Cheating. What Should I Do? by sirkezman: 8:09pm On Aug 28, 2015
let her kill herself.

petsolo15:
I have been in a serious relationship with this girl for two years now. i asked her where she was last nite when we were chatting but she didn't reply me.
She left whatsapp after reading the message and then she switched off her two phones. Efforts to called her was unproductive. Instantly, my instincts told me something was wrong somewhere. I called her girl friend if she was with her and she said 'no'.
finally, i went to her house to check if she was at home around 11:30 pm but to my greatest surprise, her room was locked up. I went home but couldn't sleep all through the nite. The whole drama was getting more strange cos i trust her very much and i couldn't comprehend the idea that she was sleeping in another guys room at that time.

This morning around 6:am, she messaged me on whatsapp that she was at home and that she is very sorry for not replying my message. I sprang up from the bed and went to her house immediately but on getting to her house, i found out that her room was still locked.

She later came home around 7:30 am and met me on her door post. We went inside the room and i asked her where she was coming from; after series of lies, she later opened up that she spent the nite at a friend's house(male) whom she visited the previous evening. She started crying that i should forgive her that nothing(s*x) happened between them during the nite.

I told her it was over between us and i warned her never to contact me again. Lo, on leaving the room, she brought out her kitchen knife that she was going to kill her self since i 've broke up wit her.. after some moment of dragging, i was able to resusciate the knife from her and i told her i wasn't leaving her any more.. This girl is very serious about killing her self if i leave her and i love her very much; but the thought of her sleeping in another man's house is driving me crazy. What should i do?
CrimeRe: The Face Of A Thief/ Burgler! by sirkezman: 5:50pm On Aug 28, 2015
technology makes it easier to capture a criminal, but its not always that easy. 24 hours is a bit of exaggeration but you made a valid point.

admax:
Of what essence is the NIMC, GSM line, Banks BVN and all sort of biometric registration if it can't be put to use?

When a CCTV captures a crime in a developed country, the criminals would have been caught within 24hrs! If all the agencies can't come together to make use of the available datas in fighting crime then none should pester us with all sort of registrations.
