But really what were you guys expecting? With the population of unemployed youths in Nigeria didn't you ever wonder how they would actually bring such a promise to fruition? Not to mention the fact that some employed persons with Nigerian blood will definitely pose as unemployed? By now you should know what country you're in and exactly how our "leaders" are. Anyway, I hope this event gives y'all a clear understanding why Jehovah's Witnesses don't vote. YOU CAN'T TRUST MEN. Especially those in caftan or agbada |
Phones › Re: Buying Gadgets Online In Nigeria? Don’t Fall Victim To This. by SirLewis(m): 7:34am On Nov 04, 2015 |
While I must add that the increment in prices of goods online can be ridiculous and downright greedy, caveat emptor still applies. It's only common place to do proper research on the price of a phone before buying it. Even if you were to go to a normal retail store, I doubt if there's anyone who'll simply settle for the price he gets from the first store without comparing with others. Except you have the money to flaunt, I think it's out of ignorance that anyone would be quick to pay for a phone immediately. The blame shifts to the seller if after satisfying his greed, the product he sells turns out to be defective. |

The bride doesn't look happy at all and that's not a good way to start her married life cuz she'll forever hold a grudge against her husband for not being able to pull off a proper wedding. Her dress looks like she borrowed it from her ancestors. I know "there's no money, cut your coat according to your size" but if the groom doesn't have much why bother getting married? What happens when the kids start coming and we know people like this aren't satisfied with 6 kids? |

Atlantian: It appears to me, that traditions and taboos in Africa where designed out of ignorance, fear and illiteracy. But what baffles me is how educated people actually decide to respect and worship ignorant and illiterate traditions. You will even see a so called educated Benin indigene insulting others who dare challenge the barbaric and silly tradition. In 21 century, when other countries are getting rid of taboos that are discovered to be false, in Africa the reverse is the case. we have Obas and so called Kings that are custodians of these ancient instrument of ignorance and fear as a weapon of control and intimidation.
What do we call a person who tells others not to use umbrella when it rains, and he is the only one to use umbrella ?
What do you call a person who doesnt allow his wives (note 'wives') to embrace any other man, not even her own father and brother ? Is that not a mark that he is afraid that a more capable man can take his wives ?
When Africa is ready to accept knowledge and shun tradition and religion, we will invent something better than foo-foo and okro soup.

Celebrities › Re: Nigerians Drag Annie Idibia Into The Toke Makina Mess by SirLewis(m): 7:52pm On Jun 14, 2015 |
cramjones: The lesson all Nigerians should learn from this mess are:
1. There is absolutely no need talking with your spouse on social media for the whole world to see. You guys see each other, talk to yourselves directly.
2. Marriage is never a ticket to happiness, never let anyone make you feel less important if you are not married.
3. Never date someone for over a decade, you can never know all about someone. Even couples that have been married for over 2 decades still learn new things about themselves - You will know the first 3 months if this is your person or not.
4. Never trust yourself in choosing your spouse. Depend on God, depend on that still small voice. Only God knows the deepest part of a man's/woman's heart.
5. Not everyone who posts romantic adventures with their spouses on social media are happy. Most times it is a front. Don't be depressed and think your life sucks because you are not getting the type of vacations and gifts being paraded on social media.
Above all, when your relationship/marriage crashes like it did for sweet Toke, never give up. Life has its ups and downs. With persistence, focus and a heart with love, you will surely find love and happiness again, and God will certainly fix your brokenness.
Annie Idibia I detest! Her and her husband's example should never be adored by any!
I wish you well Toke. You will surely prevail...hang in there.
Shalom!

Romance › Cocaine And Love Have The Same Effect On The Brain by SirLewis(op): 12:54pm On May 16, 2015 |
Long but worth the time. In a recent article published by Psychology Today , Shauna Springer, Ph.D, concludes that love is really just a scientifically measured reaction in the brain that causes many of us to have impaired judgment and paralyzed decision-making abilities. It’s the influx of chemical levels and the paralysis of certain parts of the brain that cause us to feel the euphoria and the impaired judgement that come with falling in love. For the last 20 years, Brown has been studying the effects of falling in love, including the ones that we don’t always want to talk about. After comparing the brains of hundreds of people who were either in love or going through a break up, she concluded that love creates complete blindness, and an “almost complete paralysis of the decision-making system.” When you fall in love, chemicals, like dopamine, decrease your ability to be discrete and sometimes create hallucinations alongside extreme euphoria (hence why women will plan an imaginary wedding with a man she’s known for just two days). Not to mention, the way our brain views a photo of someone we love is the same type of reaction we have after using cocaine. As many of us have experienced, falling in love is an addiction. Like gambling or drugs, it has addictive qualities that can hook you for life. It’s what creates longings and comedowns. It’s what creates those feeling of intense euphoria and deep depression. According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, cocaine, like love, promotes increased levels of dopamine in the brain, causing you to feel moments of euphoria followed by the diminished number of dopamine receptors, which make it harder to feel happy afterwards. Could we say that withdrawal is the same as love-sickness? The feeling that you will never be happy again. The feeling that the only thing that will make you happy is another dose of that person, another shot? Falling in love is willingly entering into an addictive and dangerous habit. One that you know could most likely end with you on the street, wailing in pain. It’s one that can be scientifically measured and physically felt. It’s one that will impair your judgement and lead you to decisions you would never make in your right frame of mind. It’s a dirty, barbaric and animalistic display that will only end up causing pain. Sniff at your own risk. Source: www.elitedaily.com/dating/cant-find-love-just-start-cocaine/662348/

Romance › Re: Reasons Why Every Young Ambitious Struggling Man Should Forget 'Love' by SirLewis(m): 12:01pm On May 16, 2015 |
Rapmoney: Why spend the meagre salary you earn after working for 30 days like a donkey on a girl? She tells you she needs a phone, you struggle to buy it! She says she needs money for hair, you struggle to give her! She tells you she needs to get a nice bag or pair of shoes she saw at a boutique, you struggle to give her! Be rest assured that you will continue to struggle endlessly in your life if you don't desist from such shameful and wasteful act! If you want to know the extent to which materialism has eaten into this so-called love, watch even the younger girls of today! Even those that are below 21 or 22 will quickly run away from you if you can't be giving her upkeep money, money for hair and phone, etc The mature ones? If you don't live comfortably well, sorry, you are on your own!!! Except for those village girls that are not exposed...but seriously, not in the cities of Nigeria.
Before you criticize me on the fact that these women need to live a comfortable life by hanging out with only comfortable dudes, read the topic again! It is surely the same reason why I said young struggling men should forget about love and focus on their lives!!! When you are comfortable, you can have the resources to sustain your relationship because no matter how a woman 'loves' you, the 'love' must surely die if there's no finance to sustain it!
Adams Oshiomole (not handsome) just got married to pretty Lara Forte! Do you think she didn't see all the tall handsome dudes with six-packs before tying the knot with the governor?
Goodevening everyone!
