There are two kinds of people in this world- those who are quick to buy the latest devices every 6 to 10 months, and those who are perfectly fine hanging on to their aging smartphones, so far they work. Whichever group you belong, let us remind you that this is 2019, therefore, you have absolutely no excuse moving around with a walking dead device as there is enough smartphone for everyone to go round. If your phone is old, broken, or its taking the back seat in giving you the best experience, it is definitely time to pick up a new one. Here are 5 signs it’s time to upgrade your smartphone. You’ll thank us later. 1. “Sorry, can I charge my phone here or with your power bank?” has become your catchphrase. Having to charge your battery every 30 minutes is enough to make anyone go nuts. If you have applied different tips on how to increase the battery life, and your smartphone battery still runs down before the day ends, then you know there is a problem. Rather than spend money on new batteries and chargers all the time, get yourself a new reliable and trendy smartphone, and drop that title of “King of low battery”. 2. You’re Spiderman’s landlord, as there is a giant spider web on your phone. If your smartphone looks like it has gone five rounds with Floyd Mayweather, then it’s time to change it. Having a cracked screen is the worst, and repairing it can be quite expensive. Before the phone completely outlives its usefulness, its better to upgrade into something better. 3. Your phone takes you back to the ‘80s, anytime you use the camera Remember the 80s photos- blurry, black and white, absolutely vintage. When you take pictures with your phone and that is the result you get, my brother, my sister, time to change that phone. There are affordable models out there with impressive camera specs, capable of taking clear and crisp photos. 4. You’re always running out of storage If you constantly have to delete your apps, pictures, and videos to make more storage room, then it’s time for an upgrade. Get yourself a new smartphone that can run faster, lighter, and use less memory. 5. In a race between a tortoise and your phone, the animal would win Nobody wants to wait around for a smartphone that takes years to respond. Although there are reasons why your phone might slow down, in many cases, the age of the smartphone plays a part, over the Android update, RAM size, and many others. There is a good chance that the operating system on it is old and out of date. Not only will this prevent you from installing apps, it is also a security risk, as smartphone makers often stop releasing security updates for the older operating systems. While there are a plethora of affordable yet reliable smartphones out there to upgrade to, why not opt for the latest selfie-centric smartphone in town – itel S15 Pro. This smartphone has proven to excel in rigorous reliability and camera quality tests with its 16MP AI selfie camera, dual rear camera, AI Beauty Mode 3.0, 6.1“ HD+ IPS Waterdrop FullScreen, AndroidTM 9 Pie (Go Edition), 3000mAh battery, 32GB ROM expandable up to 128GB RAM, 2GB RAM, 4G internet connectivity, with other stellar features . For efficient all-round performance, the itel S15 Pro is your best bet. It comes in black, gradation red, and gradation med blue at an affordable price of N29,500. What matters more? How a phone performs or the price you have to bargain to purchase it? You have to pardon me, I am not your typical tech enthusiast who would write technical terms while reviewing a gadget. Instead, I am an entrepreneur running my own startup business, always on the go and who doesn’t always have the time to sit down and charge everything I own all the time. So, I needed a smartphone with a long-lasting battery at an affordable cost to stay in touch with my clients. If budgetary concerns are at the top of your list when looking for a good smartphone with valid features to buy, then I would recommend the itel P33 and here is why: BIG BATTERY WITH A PLUS – AI POWER MASTER Since a phone is still predominantly a communication device for me, I wanted a smartphone that would enable me call and text all day long without having to worry about the battery getting low or frantically search for where to charge next. itel P33 was the ultimate solution for me. In my opinion, the battery is top notch. It has a 4000mAh battery with artificial intelligence power master that automatically controls the power consumption of the phone. Being a heavy user, I get to charge the device once, and it lasts up to 80 hours. Remember, this will vary depending on what you do with your device, but I have had no problems with the battery life whatsoever. IMMERSIVE DISPLAY The itel P33 has a distinctly sharper, more saturated display, which I found to be more enjoyable when watching my favorite episode of Game of Thrones or reading a book. It dons a 5.5” HD+ IPS FullScreen while its twin, itel P33 Plus comes with a 6.0” IPS FullScreen Display and a fashionable gradation blue color. STORAGE AND SECURITY Complementing the fingerprint sensor is a facial identification scanner. What we all call Face Unlock. This efficient combination means more improved security and I must say that this is quite new to the itel train of devices. With all the videos, pictures, screenshots, movies and documents I love to store, P33 enables me to do so with its 16GB ROM expandable up to 32GB with a memory card. To think I only got this device for N24,000 and to enjoy stellar specs like these is nothing short of amazing. Again, itel has proven to be the mobile master providing just that trendy and affordable smartphone for everyone. A device with such great features pegged at that price, the itel P33 and P33 Plus is an attractive option for students, working professionals, businessmen, and women looking for a smartphone with good battery and reliable functionalities.

All batteries have an expiry date, including your smartphone battery. However, how you use it, charge it and handle it, defines the longevity of the battery before it starts to malfunction. The phone battery, as unconventional as it may sound, is the heartbeat of any smartphone. Some people would rather say software is more important, but of what importance would a smartphone be when you can’t see beyond a dark screen? Buying a smartphone with a very good OS is one thing; buying a smartphone that lasts you for a longer period of time is another thing. However, a device with a poor battery performance that can only last few hours loses its credibility to even begin with. While a bad battery can either be a factory error or user-caused error, in most cases, we as users are the core problem of why our smartphone battery “sucks” and here is why: 1. Charging your smartphone overnight One of the most asked phone battery questions is; can you overcharge your phone? The good news is no, which means charging it overnight so that you can have enough juice to run the day is not necessary. Phone batteries contain a rechargeable lithium-ion (or Li-ion) battery which charges faster than traditional rechargeable batteries. However, according to an article from Cadex’s Battery University Site, culled from TIME, Li-ion does not need to be fully charged as is the case with lead acid and it is better not to fully charge because high voltage stresses the battery. Simply put, overcharging is detrimental to your battery. 2. Charging While Operating Your Phone We might all be guilty of this with few of us even knowing the impact this habit has on our phone battery. This increases the internal temperature leading to overheating and shortens the battery life. 3. Using Knockoff Chargers It is important that you find a compatible charger, preferably use the original charger for your smartphone as it is also a key factor if you want a long-lasting battery. Some of these chargers can cause software malfunction as they do not include any safety mechanism to protect against fluctuation and over-charging. Besides adopting healthy phone battery usage and practices such as switching off battery-draining apps and carrying a portable power bank everywhere you go, you can invest that money and time into purchasing a smartphone with long-lasting battery life. I honestly think it’s time you start getting value for every dime spent on a smartphone. While you can go for a Samsung or Huawei device, why not opt for the best and the newest addition of good battery life smartphone in the market – the itel P33. This smartphone has proven to excel in rigorous reliability test and long-lasting battery life with its 4000mAh battery combined with an AI power master that assures an excellent battery performance. On the itel P33, you can conveniently go 80 hours on a single charge which roughly rounds up to 24 hours of gaming, 30 hours video playback, 35 hours call-time, and 200 hours music playback. With the itel P33, you're getting more than just a long-lasting phone. itel also added other premium features like a fingerprint sensor, face unlock and dual rear-cameras, making this an attractive budget option for people who still want their phones to pack a lot of capabilities. |
What is your favorite smartphone right now? Whatever it is, I bet it caught your attention right away with its outstanding technological embodiment, when you entered that store to purchase it. (Picture) From full-screen display to notch screen to artificial intelligence to fingerprint sensor, the desire to bring something different and technologically inclined ultimately led to the ultra-cool mobile trends that we were excited about in 2018. You have got to agree that this year was pretty intense, with smartphone brands battling for supremacy of flagship devices – a battle that left tech-savvy individuals like you and I thrilled, as we all couldn’t wait to get a hold of the latest innovative device in town. First, it started with Samsung taking an early lead with its Slow-Mo pride, S9, then its rival Apple released iPhone XS and XS max. Meanwhile, Huawei stormed the market with a triple-camera smartphone, P20, but Chinese phone maker, TECNO beat them all in the market to the launch of a 24MP camera phone, CAMON X and X pro. However, 2018 was also a year to shine for other OEMs who changed the way we look at flagship smartphones, showing us that we need not spend up to N50,000 on a phone before getting the best performance. An outstanding one is itel Mobile that stormed the market with itel P32, a battery monster device that doesn’t cost a fortune amongst other smartphones that are of relatively high quality. No doubt, there was a cut-throat competition for smartphones in Nigeria in 2018. Even in the over-saturated space, here is a recap of the top smartphones we loved this year: Samsung Galaxy S9: The S9 is definitely one Android phone you would love to flaunt. Not only for its magnificent design and build but for its slow-Mo feature that has reinvented taking fun pictures for us. iPhone XS: Many years ago, Apple had an advertising campaign that said, “ if you don’t have an iPhone, you don’t have an iPhone”. This, in 2018 holds true for the iPhone XS. This device offered new improved features that give a near-perfect and seamless consumer experience. Huawei P20: Huawei decided to storm with a jaw-dropping, not one, not two but three front camera smartphone and oh! did we fall deeply in love with this stunning device. The unique triple camera design with 68 megapixels worth of shooting power takes some fantastic shots with a low light mode along with other stellar specs. itel P32: As the electricity supply in this part of the world keeps getting worse by the day and there is constant need to charge our phones in order not to run out of juice when taking pictures, watching videos, playing games and so on, Africa’s mobile giant, itel Mobile decided to surprise us with an enormous battery smartphone, the itel P32. What do we love about this phone? It has a super big battery, very affordable, quite trendy and highly reliable. Did we miss out on your best smartphone for the year? we’ll let us know in the comment section, but for worth is worth, these are the smartphones that played a big game in the camera capabilities, affordability, strong battery and trendiness this year.

We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give”- Winston S. Churchill. On Sunday, 16th December 2018, Santa Claus came in early, bringing in amazing gifts and donations for less privileged children, nursing mothers, widow and widowers in Oke – Eri Community, Oworonshoki Lagos State, as a team of volunteers and staff of Africa’s customer-centric smartphone maker, itel Mobile in conjunction with Lagos food Bank spread love in the community with the campaign theme “LOVE ALWAYS ON”. The CSR campaign train did not conclude its journey in Lagos alone but made impactful stops in other cities from Onitsha, Abuja, Ibadan, Port Harcourt, Kano, and Kaduna and the reception was amazing in every community visited. It is hard to find companies that understand the importance of giving back to the communities that define them. For itel Mobile, the essence of taking a bold initiative to provide infrastructural and basic amenities for the communities surrounding the brand has proven to be a vital aspect of its core values and existence. As a brand that aims to improve the educational and health system in Nigeria as well as fight hunger/poverty, the itel team made donations of over 500 pieces of pens, 500 pieces of school bags, book materials and water bottles, 400 pieces of pencil cases, 1000 pieces of tomato paste, over 80 cartons of noodles, clothes, foodstuffs, toiletries amongst others. The LOVE ALWAYS ON CSR campaign train also made stops in the following cities, enriching their lives, and equally putting smiles on their faces, such as: Our Lady of Fatima primary school, Ayingba in Kogi state where pupils were provided with educational materials and a little Xmas party. In Nigeria, one out of three people battles with poverty, and whether we like it or not this has led to other breakouts which are tearing families in Nigeria and around the world apart. Hunger and in most cases malnutrition have become major outcomes of poverty and it appears that a lot can be done with respect to this menace. Little wonder the Yoruba speaking people of Nigeria have a witty saying that when “hunger is out of the equation, poverty is closed to being completely solved”. Independent.co.uk projected in 2017, that 90,000 children would die in Nigeria due to hunger-related issues. This explains why Africa’s mobile phone giant, itel Mobile, in partnership with Lagos Food Bank took the initiative to give back to the community, thereby catering for the less privileged and putting a wide smile on their faces. Agboyi-Ketu witnessed a day they are really thankful for. The extent to which hunger has impacted negatively on children, nursing mothers, and widows, cannot be overemphasized. The hunger prevention initiative of feeding Nigerians is part of itel’s commitment to building a better world by aligning its consumers and products to help eliminate hunger through its CSR program “ itel always love on campaign”. Through product donations such as school bags, food items, clothes, books, writing materials, and the help of skilled volunteers, itel demonstrated its concern for the community by offering its best resources to keep the momentum of giving going. Commenting on the brand’s CSR campaign, Marvin Umbeiye, itel’s Marketing Manager said: “I am very proud to be part of a brand whose priority is giving back to the communities where we live and work. The joy our CSR activities give the families, make me positive that Itel will continue to improve livelihoods, until the Nigeria we crave is achieved. We are very hopeful for a brighter and more sustainable future”. The joy on the members of the community faces was the resounding theme throughout the outreach over the weekend. Over 200 volunteers from itel Mobile and Lagos Food Bank, gave up nearly 8 hours of their time, in order to enrich the lives of Nigerians, and equally put smiles on their faces. itel Mobile encourages other brands who do not have CSR plans, to give it a thought. In the words of a popular musician, “We rise by lifting others”. Some of the differences itel made over the weekend in Agboyi-Ketu community can be seen in the snapshots below:

Indeed, the growth is remarkable and commendable. itel smartphones are remarkable in a lot of ways, and their selfie camera and battery life are arguably the best around. Most Nigerians, either students, workers or artisans own an itel phone, compared to other competitors within the smartphone space they play in, such as fero, Gionee, and Tambo. Wondering how this Chinese mobile brand has taken over the Nigerian smartphone market, here are three valid reasons why: 1. Affordable phones without compromising on quality: If you are looking for the best budget-friendly Android phones available in 2018 today, then you are welcome to pick from itel’s line-up of phone models. They carry the premium build of a flagship but without the massive price tag. Incredible battery life on smartphones: It can be quite frustrating when you get a new phone only to discover after three weeks of using it, that it runs out of battery percentage quickly. What good is the use of an expensive phone when you can’t enjoy using the apps and features because of a wobbly battery build? Interestingly, the case is different from itel smartphones. Their devices can go 3 days on 1 single charge, giving an uninterrupted smartphone usage. For example, the itel P32 with a big battery of 3000mAH 3. Smartphone for everyone in mind: Coming into the Nigerian market over a decade ago, itel Mobile had one unique strategy in mind; to empower everyone with seamless communication devices that are reliable, affordable, and trendy. The new itel S13 was launched some weeks ago and a lot of things have been said about the device. I just got mine today and I can boldly say, itel Mobile have really done very well with this device- at least from the packaging. After the release of the itel S13, I was among the set of people looking forward to the next itel selfie series flagship because the itel S32 for me, remains the best selfie smartphone to grace the market last season. So, the question was “what else does itel want to do”? Well, I guess they just answered the question with their mantra “smartphone for everyone”. OK, without wasting much time let’s unbox this device! Specifications • 5.5 inch IPS full screen display • 13MP front camera • AndroidTM 8.1 (Go edition) • 1.3 GHz Quad-Core • 1GB RAM, 8GB ROM expandable up to 32GB • 5.0M AF +VGA Dual Rear Camera • Fingerprint sensor • 2400mAH battery The amazing S13 ships in a stylish white box with beautiful design aesthetics. When I opened the box, I found one of the most attractive android smartphone I have ever seen. No wonder, this smartphone was called or should I say termed by many of my colleagues as the most phenomenally built handset so far. On revealing, you get to see the itel S13 in all its glory, sitting pretty with its 5.5”IPS full screen display. Moving further, you will see the accessories – a red earpiece, a USB cord, a power charger and a plastic protective back case. On top, the 3.5mm audio jack is positioned alone at the left hand side of the device, which means you can put your phone inside your pocket comfortably with your headphone plugged. At the bottom, you will find the microphone jack and USB port. In the front is also a 13MP selfie shooter created to take clear, brighter and beautiful selfies in every lighting condition. It is right to say you shouldn’t validate your self-worth based on the likes and comments you get on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter through the snapshots you posted. But hey; this is the age of selfies where the biggest currency to get more followers and admirers is by getting a ton of likes on your pictures. Sometimes it is ok to have a little fun and get giggly over people admiring the beauty in your selfies. However it can be quite awkward to upload a selfie/snapshot to social media and have it ignored. A lot of elements goes into being picture perfect, so here are recommended selfie ideas to get you more likes, comments and shares: 1. Check out the lighting: most people make the mistake of taking a selfie by backing the light, not only does it reflects poorly in the picture but it creates a distracting glare and overexposes your selfie. So next time, find good ambient light to illuminate your face without exposing every detail. 2. Strike flattering poses: strike the wrong pose that doesn’t accentuate your best body features and you have people swiping up to the next post without even clicking the like button. Posture matters. Take selfies from the right angles that shows a clear detail of your profile. You can pop one hip to the side for a slimmer looking waist, or place a hand on the hip for slender looking arms amongst other stunning poses. 3. Optimize your background: imagine taking a selfie with a background that screams creepy. Background is a very important element in photography, learn to remove unnecessary distraction and clutters that makes the picture output look shabby. 4. Use the right selfie camera smartphone: you can only get all these steps right if you have the most resourceful smartphone in hand. I would recommend the new itel S13, a smartphone built to fulfil a selfie’s lover dream. With a 13MP selfie camera and the new Face Beauty mode 2.0, you get to take not just clear but clearer, brighter and excellent snapshots both in bright and low light conditions. 5. Take selfies using high angles. Remember to take selfies horizontally. Always make use of hashtags to increase chances of you picture getting seen. At this point, it’s a no brainer, the preferred device for the absolute best selfies is the itel S13 smartphone.
