@naijafan

Let's be realistic hear, if MM is selling more than Tupac, I would think it has to do with Tupacs early death and the fact that racist whites don't find anything interesting about Tupac. On the other hand, you have racist whites and not so racist whites coupled with the open minded blacks, who purchase MM music.

Let's not forget also that Tupac has been dead for about 10 years now and his records are still selling. In fact, he is still producing records because he was such a natural lyricist, he produced so many songs that to this day, he is still putting out new albums even in his death. When it comes to natural and not manufactured talent, Tupac is the one. Tupac needed no gimmicks, no promotional stunts, his natural talent, who he was, spoke for it self.

Also, just because someone is selling more so than others does not make them the best, many times it just means they had a better marketer.

Everything MM knows about Rap music, he learned from black people and it was black people who put him on. That is the bottom line. Do you deny that?

My point is yes MM is good, he is exceptionally a brilliant rapper but just like paddy said, his success is survived by the fact that he happen to be in the right place at the right time. A time when a white rapper was desperately needed in the white urban community's.

Also, just like Paddy said, lately MM has been falling off, you know why? because other white people are taking over his trend. Did you see the reality show that comes on about "the next white rapper?" If you have seen it, you should know what I am talking about. There shouldn't even be a show called "the next white rapper."

He got the skillz lyrically that is.
I think he says some crazy an for black people unrelating things but for the most part, it was pretty ingenious for him to come up with the white trailor park trash act to give him that white nigga character, as a publicity stunt. People loved that. Also the crazy stuff he say's seems to magnificently flow pretty well.

Honestly though, to me with out Doctor Dre, M and M would not have been shit. The rock and roll shit would not have flew with out Doctor Dre's hard core beats and way ahead of it's time bizarre way of combining rap with rock, you know what I am saying? Your lyrics can be good all they want but unless you are the type who is always rapping free style with out sound lyrics won't get you anywhere with out a knock head beat.
but he is not the best.
Hell no he is not the best, how is he going to be better than a black man at the black mans game? Me don't thinks so. Tupac for now is number one and no other has yet to take his place. Lyrically Tupac is a natural.

he is just at the right place at the right time.
You got that right, many white boys before him like MC search and the Beastie boys just to name a few, none of them were able to do what he has done, I think it is because they didn't capitalize on the poor white trash MO. He happen to capitalize on that at the right time because white youngsters was needing them a young so called thugged out white boy they could call their own. grin Every body wants to come from the school of hard knocks now, even rich white kids. LOL
