Your last paragraph summed it up, access to high quality protein via meat, milk and eggs. Fruits are rubbish!!!

Proteins are the building blocks of life, if you want to live long consume them in high quantities. The problem with us in Nigeria is excess starch and carbohydrates which causes insulin resistance leading to fatty people. Gari, Eba, pounded yam semo , akamu, custard they are all starchy foods.

Having potbelly and no neck is not a sign of good health, no wonder we have many people on dialysis and coronary bypass. grin

People slumping and dying and other people say they fell under the anointing.
I want you to listen to this then come back and reply me. Our food is not the problem. Even the Medical Hippocrates or what's his name said let thy food be their healing. God created different food for different reasons and different environments. All the solutions we have here and God never made a mistake. The Chinese owned their own things and exported it, that's why we are talking about ginseng. God gave us leaves, vegetables to help our body. Nutrition management is different from condemning all we have and thinking food is evil. The same food our parents ate and lived to 100 of years. So you should ask, what happened to us?

Real food or GMO?

No food in Canada, GMO they eat. Meat and poultry are all heavily induced with hormones.

You can tell from taste. It’s never real. Food is completely out of the picture. Talk about walk life balance and mental health. Food should not be there.
That's why their children grow like balloon sizes. Their milk no pure, na so so hormones dem de inject them in preparation for future cancer patients while everything we need is here, naturally. That's why they want us to destroy ourselves so they can sell big pharma to us. We have our problems but given the basics of life, I will choose Nigeria where I can plant anything and no one will tell me I cannot produce my food, I have to go to the store.

I will eat natural fruits in Nigeria 100x better than the fruits you are eating over there. I don't blame the OP, I blame their ignorance and that's not an insult. Are you aware that Chiquita, one of the largest suppliers of your banana trafficks arms? You have internet, I will let you do your home work. Your banana there, why do they have organic fruits separate from other fruits? Was that something you used to bother about in Nigeria? Even at that, you still don't trust their organic label. Ask why? Travel to Europe and you will find out why most of your stuff in North America is rejected there. Most of what you eat is considered poison but your ignorant mind de happy. It's with time you will know that GOOD FOOD is cheaper in Nigeria than the junk food you eat there.

Europe Banned This Food (CANADA GROCERY STORES STILL SELLS IT)

Banned in Europe, sold in Canada. What’s in your food? (Marketplace)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NB8AA2Zhy_g

God blessed this land with nature, when you get older, those things that are new to you won't freak you anymore and you will want natural things. Nigeria has nature 100%. Your old body won't like that cold anymore because it's not the nicest thing your knees and back wants to grow up to. No worry, I give you time, just 10 years, you go see life and you go know wetin good for you.

If I was going to look at the topic objectively, factors I will consider are healthcare access and quality, public health spending, availability of medical professionals, disease burden, maternal and infant mortality, nutrition and food security, access to clean water and sanitation, environmental pollution, poverty and income inequality, education and literacy levels, preventive care and immunization coverage, lifestyle behaviors, road safety, crime and violence, political stability and governance, housing and urbanization conditions, climate-related health risks, and emergency response capacity. However, this is simply complex datasets we look at when life is all about nature. If I compare US to Canada, there will be more deaths in US for a simple reason, they are ~x10 the population of Canada. Where you have more people, there's likely to be more deaths. It's human survival instinct and how too many people cause problems. Canada is bigger than US yet people in Lagos and Ogun can fit into Canada's current population. That should tell you something.

Our climate is totally different from them but when it comes to food, Nigeria 100%. You don't wonder how you get banana everyday and you are happy because you see banana every day? You don't know they import those things? You want to cheat nature? You no wan fall when e snow? You want to remain indoors forever under heater or AC in summer when there's extreme heat pass Kano Sunshine? Ọmọ, you go wise soon. Your knees will tell you. Give it time.

Mrs Tinubu has no official role to play in Nigeria's foreign policy and she should be advised to keep quiet. The party in power, when they were in opposition said the same thing to the first lady. No wonder Abati said back then that

You guys were expert at monitoring Turai and Dame, please don't do the same thing you condemned them off. You even went to the extent that they should disclose details of their health trips to Germany as first lady, yet Buhari and Tinubu will go do checkup and they won't tell us anything, they will claim different lies. If you want to practise what you preach and avoid double standards, please let her sit this out and let the government's official apparatchik handle US. After all, this party rewards loyalists who are ready to defend the country and stand on your husband's mandate to do their job.

At least, with proper guidance, he will have enough energy to take care of the kids and correct any mistakes in life. All he needs is guidance, he's already a man.

We are talking about a man who today cannot travel by road to his village due to the condition of the road.

I heard he went about promising to build a mortuary for a community, the community has not hospital. Even the mortuary e st wee
When the country needed to be rescued, David was man enough to pass the doctrine of necessity for the Senate. When there is time to save the country, put country above party. If we were in similar situation when our President was incapacitated and did not hand over power, I doubt Akpabio being man enough to do the right thing.

A pundit once got into hot water for calling this observation out. Joey Barton, a former Premier League footballer and manager, sparked significant controversy and "got into hot water" in December 2023 for a series of social media posts claiming that women should not be involved in commentating or providing analysis on men's football.

I will not go to the extent of Barton for analysis but I agreed with him. He called it woke and used some nasty words. Football is where men feel free, once you start having these unnecessary emotions in the game, I am afraid we will lose it to softness and unnecessary distractions. It's not to say men are perfect but I fear a day when in football, men will be afraid to unpack (not in a racist or abusive tone) how they objectively want to talk about issues.

In the one I saw, the woman did not do justice to the fantastic goals that were scored. In fact, someone joked that you are better off listening to Arab commentary or Brazilians grin

I want to conduct a poll on this topic after my comment on the other thread about female commentators in football games. I do not enjoy it and I have been watching football for over 3 decades. I have also been listening to football commentary and analysis on radio, through SW to AM to FM and now podcasts and everything. During the days of livescores, I don't know if they still do that, women call it out. Women were always in the game but they never touched the live commentary part. I think due to the nature of the game and most audience being men, it was a sacrilege to disrupt what people heard. Someone called me a misogynist because of my comment.

I want to know, do you enjoy women's live commentary for men's games? This is just a statistical analysis of viewers' choice, no sentiments, no favoritism. Let's see what this sample size shows and maybe media organizations can learn from their consumers.

erad:
I'm trying to understand what the government's business is with the entertainment industry.
You don't understand the government's business with the entertainment industryhuh

The US uses entertainment not only for influence in the world, but for national security. Inthe wake of World War II, the United States government transitioned from the overt propaganda of wartime to a sophisticated "Cultural Cold War" strategy, using entertainment as a primary tool of soft power. This effort was driven by a desire to counter Soviet influence and project an image of American freedom, diversity, and technological superiority to the rest of the world. Through agencies like the State Department and the newly formed CIA, the government became a silent partner in the arts, funding international tours for "Jazz Ambassadors" like Louis Armstrong and Dizzy Gillespie to showcase American cultural vibrancy. Behind the scenes, the CIA covertly bankrolled magazines and promoted Abstract Expressionist painters, using their avant-garde style as proof of the intellectual liberty found only in a democratic society.

Domestically, the relationship between the Pentagon and Hollywood formalized into a "military-entertainment complex." Please google this term to find out more about it. To secure the use of expensive military hardware, bases, and personnel for films, studios allowed the Department of Defense to vet scripts, ensuring that the armed forces were portrayed with prestige and heroism. Meanwhile, the creation of the United States Information Agency (USIA) turned the government into a prolific film producer in its own right, distributing thousands of documentaries and newsreels globally to "tell America’s story." By the mid-1960s, this commitment to cultural influence culminated in the establishment of the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), which institutionalized federal funding for the arts as a permanent pillar of American society, ensuring that entertainment remained a vital asset for both national identity and international diplomacy.

Every government that is serious gets involved in entertainment business. Let me give you another example. In Italy, the government passed a law about dubbing movies. Mussolini's regime banned foreign-language screenings and required local dubbing to ensure propaganda control. This established a long-standing industry standard to day. When you bring in movies to them, they must meet their own language requirements. They preserve their own language that way, they also create jobs for their people because if you want to sell in that market, you need to translate to Italia.

Entertainment is easy control the people and if the government is serious about it, they will invest heavily into it. Entertainment costs money, that's why it needs government support. I give it to our creatives for doing a lot without government's support which is actually GOVERNMENT NEGLIGENCE.

Once thing I notice about Nigerians is our never ending craze for external validation.

It has its positives and negatives. When you want us to keep forging ahead and never playing local, it is a good thing. In fact, I acknowledge it here

SixSeven:
Exactly. As much as I am disappointed in those guys begging for money and call out begging behaviour especially by officials at the airport and everywhere, what worries non-Nigerians is the confidence an average Nigerian has. It's unmistakable, it's undeniable and it's a sign of success. And you know success has enemies. If you doubt me, watch from 1:19:00 when this lady describes Nigerians and she reminds you that Lagos is not Nigeria and non-Nigerians can't understand our vibe. You can't give what you don't have, it's in us.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E9Y8JU0ynac

One more thing is that while Nigerians can overdo, when it comes to competence, we can overdo too. We will call you out if you are faking it and that's a sign of excellence. When you want to keep doing well at what you do. Nigerians keep aiming higher, fight for international relevance and don't just play local. Nigerians are fighting for Grammy wey no be their own. They fight for film festivals that aren't theirs. A sign of greatness is when you don't rest on your oars. I am happy Mo recognized how the world system works and why Nigeria needs to focus on Nigeria and Africa. I miss our thought leaders of the 60s - 70s. Na wetin make Fela reconsider himself in the 70s after going through the American experience and understanding what Pan Africanism means.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mG5XVSjFijc

Nigerians who live in Southern Africa can tell you how these people are. See, the world knows that once Nigeria gets its act together, the world will shake because Nigeria ably represents the power/threat of the black man. It's better to leave us confused with maladministration and disorganization. That's why I can't give up on the country. Its current state of affairs is a paradox of some kind because the country with highly intelligent people is being run by cowards and undeserving miscreants. When you are big, you are big, there's no time to be wasting on small issues.

Yes we are so amazing! Haibo, leave trash for LAWMA 🗑️

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UmmHSbQ5ulY
But in the quote above, if you listen to Mo Abudu, I am glad she has now found out that we don't need any international validation, let's build our own. Now that's where government comes in. Unfortunately, the government has not made the people proud of these contributions. For instance, Nollywood practitioners complained about government neglect. It was not until 2014 when the government of Jonathan recognized them and the Minister of Finance, NoI included this sector in our GDP. Our government does not appreciate art, so invariably, people will go outside and work for those who will recognize them and their work. Unfortunately, you cannot tell a story if you are not the owner. Those international people are continuing a post colonial legacy of their own narrative of Africa and they will continue to be a gatekeeper for our own stories.

The other part for me is that Nigerians are fond of show off. So international is a bragging right. That's why we are crazy about Grammys, Emmys and all manners of awards that do not belong to us! shocked

Until the black ants have a leader, they will continue to remain confused. Write your own story and own it.
