Beaf: Don't sound like Goebbels! One thing you must remember is that some of the people in those slums are from the Niger Delta. I know you guys have been saying on another thread that Lagos will declare independence. But until then, you must realise that the Niger Delta feeds you, be careful about your suggestions.
"Federal governement's obligation" ke! That translates as oil money from the Niger Delta.
your still not making sense i never said Lagos will declare indepence!!!!
What I suggested should be done with FG money was to build homes and jobs in the delta, so you wont flock to Lagos making slums!!! What is your point
Beaf: Approximately 40% of Lagos revenue comes from the FG; Lagos cannot feed itself. And nobody pays tax in Lagos, stop being a clown. I'm hoping though that when you join politics you can move your Lagos out of the country and observe for yourself how quickly the state will go Bangladesh style hungry. Right now, we are feeding you guys, so be respectful.
OK SOURCE PLEASE
IF Lagos gets 40% from FG, what is the big idea, doesn't FG get its highest revenue from Lagos State
I dont think your making a point
half of deltans have run to Lagos so. . . be respectful
vezycash: @sjeezy8 no wonder u r in LA, tax payers money? don't be ridiculous no matter how much nitel, refinery got there was no improvement; nepa is in the same position.
Lagos government has always stressed the fact of payin taxes. Those who stay on the island have light more often plain and simple majority are tax payers. The federal government should be the one solving the lighting problems around Nigeria. Lagos state can only do for themselves and by getting rid of people who generate no revenue, it betters the probability of having light more often in Lagos state.
vezycash: Fashola insists on tax, improved structures in private schools
Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State has urged owners of private schools to pay their taxes promptly for development of the state and also provide decent structure3s in their institutions for conducive learning environment.
In a keynote address yesterday at the National Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos, at the Society for International Development/Association for Formidable Educational Development (AFED) 2009 seminar, titled – Public-Private Partnership (PPP) In Enhancing Educational Adequacy and Mitigating International Migration Policy for Nigerians Overseas, he charged proprietors and proprietresses of private schools to roll up their sleeves for the challenge of providing qualitative education for children in Lagos State.
“Be prepared to develop this state through PAYE (Pay As You Earn) tax system by paying taxes deducted from salaries of teachers to the government. Some of you are making profits. If you think you’re paying too much tax, open your books to inspectors. Even market women pay taxes. By so doing, we will get dividends of democracy. .http://www.vanguardngr.com/2009/07/22/fashola-insists-on-tax-improved-structures-in-private-schools/ . . . .
Beaf: Really? Thats like saying because Lagos lives off FG handouts, we should deport Lagosians to fund NEPA.
Maybe you should if Lagos state wasn't the highest revenue generating state in Nigeria. Not to mention those revenues are made off of taxed Lagosian workers.
fayahsoul: If the elite refuse to redistribute wealth lawfully then the underdogs/undergods must do it forcefully by robbing them clean in whichever way; even if it's kidnapping or adultnapping who cares.
you are a monkey in a jungle
FL Gators: Yeeeee!!! Banned? So how's Sjeezy supposed to eat now?
hmmm sjeezy would get a job. But we kno you would start selling your body. ASEWO
Very hard situation because Lagos State government cannot LEGALLY, provide assistance to those who are building houses in Lagos ILLEGALLY. (if you know what i mean)
I think its the Federal governement's obligation to relieve Lagos' popualtion density by allocating land and setting up more industrial means of production or agriculture OUTSIDE Lagos. Where cost of living is cheaper
These people should leave Lagos if they can't afford it
Mind you Lagos State Government was being generous by even letting them build slums in the first place. If it were UK or America they would knock them down immediately and evict everyone who doesn't have proper documents for housing.
These guys are hating- im the future of Nigerian politics finishing up my dual majors in yankee( political science and international relations/ Economics)
i was right from the start, But I admit I should change my delivery
ignorance is bliss, youre walking around not knowing anything and are ok with
What place did you think MEND attacked? they only blow up oil revenue making places
sjeezy8: Nigeria rebels hit Lagos oil target
Mend said its fighters 'overpowered' Nigerian navy personnel guarding the wharf [File: AFP]
At least five oil workers have been killed after a Nigerian rebel group launched an attack in Lagos, the country's most populous city and financial capital.
Fighters from the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (Mend) attacked an oil tanker wharf in the city's harbour.
The attack came shortly before Henry Okah, a suspected Mend leader, was freed on Monday as part of a government amnesty aimed at ending the fighting in the Niger Delta.
Mend says it is fighting for greater autonomy for the Niger Delta and a fairer distribution of its oil wealth.
lol i got those facts from cnn bbc and aljazeera news thats for 2008 figures
2007 below Rank State GDP (PPP$) 1 Lagos State 33,679,258,023 2 Rivers State 21,073,410,422 3 Delta State 16,749,250,544 4 Oyo State 16,121,670,484 5 Imo State 14,212,637,486 6 Kano State 12,393,103,864 7 Edo State 11,888,446,884 8 Akwa Ibom State 11,179,887,963 9 Ogun State 10,470,415,017 10 Kaduna State 10,334,763,785
Afaukwu: Yes, Port and all that. But Lagos still collects the third/fourth biggest monthly allocation from the FGN. All that comes from oil money. Did Fashola also build the port in Lagos? Who own the industries in Lagos? Yoruba?
And who own oil refineries in the east? igbos?
Beaf: Reasoning of this type is the reason why the ND should stop providing almost half of the revenue for Lagos. A state that still needs to go cap in hand to the FG for revenue is busy deporting other Nigerians like they are better than everybody else. I think the ND should leave these unproductive but mouthy regions to provide for themselves, lets see how long they will remain mouthy.
Lagos is a begging state like every other (including ND ones) so why don't they deport themselves out of the country?
udezue: Sgeezy is simply a typical Nigerian anti - Igbo idiot who spends his worthless time salivating and masturbating on anything Igbo while he has his own issues to deal with. Can u imagine a common dirty ass Yoruba Yoruba idiot like him telling us where Igbo lands starts and ends when his stupid ass aint even Igbo and I'm 100% sure the fool have never stepped foot any Igbo soil from Igbanke to Afikpo.
Sgeezy8, man stop exposing your ignorant ass. You are making it quite easy for people to believe that Yoruba ppl as usual are the most ignorant of other people in Nigeria. Anything pass Benin is OmoIgbo to ignorant ass fools like you when in actuality not every one pass Benin is Igbo yet you wanna claim Igbos are only found in 5 states. Even if Igbos are only found in 1 state how does that concern your ugly ass?
i think you need to read back over my replys instead of looking like an ass
thanks
ezeagu: Does that give you comfort? Well whatever works for your self esteem, you can now go back to 'ruling Lagos' "SJeezy".
you actually make sense, im "comfortable" knowing if biafra happens you will get 5 states
Afaukwu: Typical Yoruba. Behaves as though he hates money but give him one little political position, he embezzles all the money allocated to him to work. Hypocrit
lol your sick in your head
didn't we say Lagos is on another level
Afaukwu: Lagos depends largely on oil money from the east, ND and Ondo. Remove oil Lagos is finished
Oil money?
Lagos doesn't get oil money from the Govt we support ourselves
PDP govt give money to AC state who is fueding with the federal government- you make no sense at all Shows how much you know about politics
i feel sorry for you omg did i post any evil forest articles? lol
NO because its not about igbo vs yoruba its sbout Lagos being a well governed state
STOP HATING
Afaukwu: Davidif. Nada. I am doing much better than you can ever do. You may never earn half of my earning per month, plus the job satisfaction I get. Hate? No. I just feel I should tell you guys your story which you have been hiding under the carpet all these years
What does this rubbish mean lol obviously your not doing to well because your're hating on other peoples progress
Stating how much more your're earning only shows your problem - MONEY
fayahsoul: The hausas, fulanis, ijaws, yoruba and "igbo-nigerians" collaborate with the white devil to keep afuraka down. These conniving cowardly folks must be dealt with before change will come.
hen hennn that sounds good we (The hausas, fulanis, ijaws, yoruba and "igbo-nigerians" dont want any fuckin biafra
Afaukwu: Answer the questions and stop blabbing. Why do you guys kill yourselves for political reasons? Despite all the noise about Ngige/Uba, did you hear any of them kill each other? Again why are you guys so financially corrupt? Why do you steal so much from the national treasury? Bode George alone stole 100 billion from the NPA (a national asset)
its not a yoruba thing its a national thing- as i said Nigerians from all tribes are corrupt you fools wont let yorubas go
The more you continue saying yorubas the more destruction for yourselves
Afaukwu: The point is that you guys are so disunited that you kill each other for political gains. Hypocrits and pretenders.

READ IT
When Nnamdi Azikiwe in the second republic described Ndi-Igbo as the bride of Nigerian politics, he was in fact stating the true position of the Igbo nation in the contemporary Nigerian politics. The Igbo have remained not just a bride in Nigerian politics but a primitive African bride who is "bought" with monetary dowry, brought home to a strange compound, given a little space to fulfill the basic requirement of nature, namely, to increase and multiply, and forced to lie low and be dominated forever after by her husband. The Igbo nation is a classic dominated bride of an African village.
Though Ndi-Igbo have produced charismatic personalities like Nnamdi Azikiwe, Mbonu Ojike, Michael Okpara, Kingsley Mbadiwe, to mention but a few, who did accomplish quite a lot in the politics of the nation especially at independence, the real history of the Igbo nation is littered with pretender politicians who were at every juncture of their careers out-maneuvered and outsmarted by their more accomplished counterparts from the other parts of Nigeria. Even the most charismatic Igbo politician tends to reveal at one point or the other that he/she does not understand the elementary principle of party politics David Asonye Ihenacho IMO STATE BORN IGBO
YOU GUYS ARE NOT POLITICIANS SO KEEP MAKING MONEY THANKS
YOU GUYS WONT DIE FOR WHAT YOU BELIEVE IN NOT EVEN AZIKWE OR OJUKWU Yorubas sacrifice their lives all the time even our women. You can never see igbo women protest against anything
INFACT LETS NOT MAKE THIS AN IGBO VS. YORUBA THING
LAGOS GOVERNMENT IS NOT FRIENDS WITH THE REST OF YORUBALAND
Simple lagosians are on their own stuvs. The rest of yorubaland WISH they had a governor like Fashola, even whole of Nigeria down to igboland wish Fashola was their govenor.
