I wonder why they've neglected their responsibility for so long.. Have they made any efforts to repair such roads

Yes, the last time I checked the only good federal government road in Abia state is from Enugu/Port Harcourt road, from Enugu down to Abia Tower � in Umuahia, after that Tower hmm down to Rivers state. Same with every other Federal road that I'm aware of in Abia. Please note; the Federal roads for some is there major asset road.
That's why everyone is complying.

And some of this roads might even be the responsibility of the federal government

There are over 1000 bad roads in Abia making it difficult for new road construction and previous government where just doing maintenance and I love that road currently. The ABA road in umuahia down to old umuahia has drainage. I don't know if they will extend to ubakala, although the ubakala road is still Good.
