Badman888:
some people just come on here and say their life history, now putting it on another person head,
@Badman, I don't get you?

@Rottweiler,  I think you must be a Professor of Marriageology before you can conclusively judge who knows nothing about marriage. Remember what works for you might not work for others and what works for others might not work for you. So if I were you, I would think about that before dismissing other people’s viewpoints as unserious and 'not knowledgeable'.

From what I read in most of the posts on certain family/love related subjects, I have concluded that a lot of people on Nairaland ain't serious about life and know nothing about marriage. I mean marriage, not co-habition.
Lol, so you had a degree in Marriage before you got married huh? shocked

babwilms:
@skidoc. Firstly it has nothing to do with brainwashing. I do understand the angle in which you are approaching this topic, but you are not understanding mine. The fact still remains, that any church will not want to tanish their image be it a good or a bad church, hence the safety of people will be of importance. Then again it could be for selfish gains, but at least its taking students, robbers, thugs, undergraduates of the street.
No organisation whether church or mosque or business venture would want to tarnish their own image too! Not only church, so what makes a church better in achieving this aim?

babwilms:
No i am not saying airlines of unbelivers are run by the devil. You are funny, how can you utter such statement?
Well, that was what you were implying.

babwilms:
Now, what you are saying is that we should stop going to churches, stop paying our tithes because any church can not be trusted, they are all about money. Thats nonsense. At least this man is using the tiths to address the unemployment issue in the country, to put smile on the hopeless.
I’m not saying you should stop going to church or stop giving tithes. I can’t stop you from doing that. What I stated was clearly different, I don't know where you got that from.

babwilms:
Why are we even questioning or against a man of God who has a plans to reduce unemployment in our country? Then you here them start complaining about unemployment in the country, instead of embracing a plan layed out by someone to address the issue. We Nigerians are funny people. Why are most Nigerians against anything good (the ones i've met)?

Why are we complaining?. The problem with most Nigeria is that we don't appreciate anything good as we should do.
Providing employment is only secondary in the mind of a businessman. Don’t make it seem as if he’s actually out to provide employment. The primary goal is to make money! So reducing unemployment is NOT the plan. Infact if it's possible for him to get his church members to do the work FREE as service to God and the church, I'm sure he would gladly do that! cheesy

Poverty is a state of the mind which reveals itself in the way we talk, move and live. In the days of old the church was invoved in giving quality education and health care at no cost in addition to preaching the gospel. The Men of God then went about amongst the people and kept an open door policy because there was nothing to hide but now what do we have. The churches that have universities charge as much as half a million naira per annum with a quality that is still sub standard. What business has darkness and light. In a country where 95% of the populace do not have access to constant electricity, i don't understand why churches are having programs on television to the extent of it being on satellite. They should focus on things with eternal value.
God bless you richly. Yay! That's why I will stick to my archaic church anyday. cheesy

@skidoc. I'm sure you understand what the quote meant and if you don't here is the explanation.

People will be safer in Aeroplanes run by a church in the sense that, the safety of the people boarding the plane comes first, test flight will be conducted, engines checked properly among other things for safe flights. Unlike the i don't care attitude of airline operators in Nigeria, who do not care about the safety of people, all they thinking of is money money and money. Example can be seen last year(three plane crashes).

Then again proper inspection of the Aeroplanes still does not guarantee safe flight, but at least our mind will be at peace, knowing the airline is not run by sosilio, Nigerian Airways and co.

Hope you get it now.
What are you talking? grin It’s like you Christians in Nigeria have been thoroughly brainwashed. So church airlines would test their flights and conduct proper operations, check engines properly but airlines of unbelievers are run by devils? duhhhh don’t make my stomach burst here. I daresay that modern day Nigerian churches are even more about the money than the so-called unbelievers. So Man, let the scales fall off your eyes. You aint safer in a Church plane, if anything you are even in more danger grin grin because everything might be done by faith. A plane that is not fit to travel might be annointed and declared fit by the miracle-working Man of God in faith through Jesus Christ our Lord. wink

Family › Re: What Are Friends For? by Skidoc(m): 6:37am On Jun 05, 2006
Ib, Gentleman Seun has proposed marriage please come and accept the offer from the waiting dude. grin cheesy

Seriously, I think both sides are correct. Seun is describing what an ideal friend should be. An ideal friend should stick with you through thick and thin. But in reality, that's not the case and that's the message people like H-Angel and Zahy are trying to pass across. It's really not that way in reality. Most friends are only there when things are rosy and you don't find them when you are in sh*t. There's no perfect friend anywhere. Despite these shortcomings, we have learnt to accept them as friends.
I want to hear people like 2Cantango, Chinani & Davidylan's take on this. Pls direct them here. smiley
