You are welcome wink
keeper303:
Thank you very much for the detailed explanation.
InvestmentRe: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by skydiver01: 5:05pm On Aug 17, 2021
He got your question. You did not get his response. He was simply saying google will give you the website of FMDQ where you can get an idea of prices of all the FGN bonds. That aside, the closing mid price of the 12.4% 18 March 2036 is N96.4 per unit. Meaning your offer price will be slightly higher if you wish to buy e.g. +N1 to N3 and lower if you wish to sell e.g. -N1 to N3

So your example of wanting to purchase N2m worth at e.g. N98 will give you 20,408 units which will have a par value of N2,040,816. And yes you get the annual interest paid on the face value of the units held twice a year.

keeper303:
You didn't get my question. When one ask questions it is not only for the benefit of the person who asked the question but for other newbies to benefit too. You quoted 2 figures -bid and offer, assuming I want to invest #2m in the 12.4% bond, how much will I pay? I know I will still get interest of 12.4% dividends in a year, paid twice every 6 months. Google will not show me this. Thank you.

Nothing wrong with First Bank. They are very adept at purchasing these instruments for their customers.
91 days is a shorter tenor and that is about the rate for this tenor at the moment (c2.5%).

Entrepreneurrr:
I am a newbie here, i read some information about t-bills.
I ask firstbank today about 91 days tenor and they said is 2.5000 which i did not understand what they mean.
Can u pls enlighten me and the best banks to invest with?

I hope we are all remembering to compound our interests and dividends because it speeds up obtaining financial freedom which in turn provides one with the option of choosing to retire early if one so desires.

On that note, I have just finished my wealth creating book by this compounding reminder. Thus duly delivered in August 2021 wink

I certainly hope he is taking time out to write his wealth creation book as our renowned Lazyyouth (Smart Youth) suggested to him several times. He responded to the suggestion by saying he would try to have it written by August this year wink

Did anybody else experience this?
InvestmentRe: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by skydiver01: 4:12pm On Jul 27, 2021
I know. Think it should have dropped with the institution used yesterday and perhaps credited to account/bond holders today. That's my best guess. But yes I do agree account/bond holders should have been credited yesterday. Its technically a day late at best for now... I would be surprised and concerned if the coupon payment is not received today.

Suspect the spread between the 182 and 364 days NTB stop rates may continue to shrink over the next few months.

LauraClasikVibe:
rates are dropping, what's the implication(s)?

InvestmentRe: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by skydiver01: 5:09pm On Jul 15, 2021
Noted. Sorry. In hindsight it was a simple question you asked. My bank sends it to me when I ask them for it. I do not ask for it following every NTB auction. I asked for it because it was asked for by another user as well as yourself yesterday and no one responded. So I asked for it this morning. It is posted again below.

LagosInter:
I wasn't doubting you. I only wanted to know if it's something I can access myself maybe from time to time.

The info was useful.

That's why I asked where it could be found.

InvestmentRe: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by skydiver01: 11:52am On Jul 15, 2021
Take the info you need from it. I will not post NTB auction results again. The auction results information can be obtained from your bank or broker if you ask nicely. Will delete my post above to affirm my position.
LagosInter:
Where did you find this pls?
InvestmentRe: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by skydiver01:
Kindly ask your bank or broker for NTB auction results.

High demand at the long end (364 days). N59b offered vs N436b subscription.... with N158b allotted... No surprise that the rate dropped.

What the reason for the drop?

Ever so true. Seconded.
DaBogu:
You never get a look behind the scenes... truth is the real winners are silent and doing their own thing. Don’t get it twisted. The loud ones tend to be (but not always) pretending to be better than they’re doing. You can tell by how they carry themselves.
