The Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Water Resources, Hon. Olubukola Oyewo (Bukoy) and his wife Mrs. E. F. Oyewo has described the wife of the Governor of the State of Osun, Her Excellency, Alhaja Kafayat Oyetola as a quintessential mother and an amazon.

Hon. Oyewo made this assertion in a congratulatory message released from his media office in Osogbo to mark the 60th birthday anniversary of Alhaja Kafayat Oyetola

In the release signed by him, Oyewo said Her Excellency's loyalty and support to her husband, Governor Gboyega Oyetola and by extension to the people and government of the state stands her out as an amazon among her equals.

"There is no gainsaying that when the history of the progressive State of Osun is being written, the name of Her Excellency, Alhaja Oyetola will be written in gold. Her contributions with the establishment of Ilerioluwa Development Initiative in no small measure positively affects the lives of the people and consequently aid the social stability being witnessed in the state of Osun.

“Her Excellency is a woman of substance, team leader who inspires others, in addition to her humility which is an essential ingredients of leadership. With years of commitment to philanthropy and contribution to humanity, you've made the world a better place.

“Your Excellency Ma, since your inception as the First Lady of the State of Osun, you have carried out your responsibilities with humility and impressive dedication, and we urge you not to rest on your oars, we are proud of your success and progress”, the statement further noted.

“To whom much is given, much is expected”. This is a popular saying in Africa where church members, church goers have given so much to their various churches in all ways they can. It is undoubtedly that many of the church members are now in dire situations in this trying period in history of nations where almost all countries of the world are facing the scourge of coronavirus and shutting down places of livelihood of citizens in a move to fight the monster coronavirus, decimating lives on daily basis all around the world.

Recently I was surfing the internet and I came across a piece of information on how the Living Faith Church popularly known as Winners’ Chapel, Founded by outspoken Nigerian Preacher, Bishop David Olaniyi Oyedepo met with communication companies and created a USSD CODE (*389*30*1#) that allows members to pay their OFFERINGS, TITHES, SEEDS among others even in these days when the world is faced with calamitous COVID-19 and looking up to the ways out in form of finances and spiritual breakthroughs, but churches are no where to be found. Are some churches cursed with money?

Similarly, the Founder and General Overseer of Kingsway International Christian Centre, Pastor Mathew Ashimolowo came on live TV and asked all his church members to go ahead to begin paying their offerings and tithes through the already prepared online portal of the church even when the church members are possibly in the hospitals fighting between life death with coronavirus while others are living a harrowing and poverty-infested life with no help from the church they have contributed much of their time, money and resources BUT with only reward of “GOD BLESS YOU” from their so called pastors.

In the same vain, one Pastor Brian Amoateng, Founder of Brian Jones Outreach Ministries headquartered in London recently shocked the general public when he made a video where he said church members should expect nothing from their churches or pastors in this ‘era’ of COVID-19 as he said any money given to the church in form of offerings, tithes or seeds are given to God so therefore church members should take their minds off receiving back from the church.

He added that no church members should expect sanitizers or masks from the church because it is basically the responsibility of the government or the individuals.

This is his words: “If we don’t have money to pay rents, where are we going to get money to buy hand sanitizers?

“And let me tell you, it’s not the responsibility of the church to but hand sanitizers for you because you give offering. It is not. You give offering to God to receive a blessing. It’s not compulsory that the church has to bring you hand sanitizers.

“I believe that the government has to provide for its citizens. Also, hand sanitizers shouldn’t be “If we don’t have money to pay rents, where are we going to get money to buy hand sanitizers?

“And let me tell you, it’s not the responsibility of the church to but hand sanitizers for you because you give offering. It is not. You give offering to God to receive a blessing. It’s not compulsory that the church has to bring you hand sanitizers. You buy your own toothpaste and washing gel so you should buy your own hand sanitizer. That is so brazen, meretriciously stratagemic and contumeliously ungracious for a supposed ‘Man of God’ to come out live defending the Commonwealth of all his church members to be solely belonging to him, camouflaging it that whatever is given to church is given to God. Does God ride in Rolls Royce or private jets? Does He establish Universities here and there from the same Commonwealth of the church members? What about the superlative and superfluous lifestyle that defines their daily living? What a profane lifestyle!

The article gives more hints and exposé on how “prosperity preachers of Christian religion have become predatory to their congregants and and submerge the true Gospel or colouring it to favour their pockets. It is a mastered service most high and low pastors in Christiandom have been schooled and they are flourishing in it.

It is so glaring and evidential that the gods of many of these churches is MONEY! Many of the churches are so bent on milking their members dry without any recourse from the churches. Here is the Yoruba satirical description of many churches: “Ijo nru Alufa wa n Sanra”. Meaning, church members are emancipating while the pastors are ‘fattening’ up. So descriptive of many African churches today!

It is on note that this trying times for our nation and the world at large, we have seen men and women who have donated money in billions and and millions to help fight the rampaging coronavirus and as well to put food on the table of the poor.

It will be recalled that Chinese businessman, Jack Ma recently donated some relief materials to Nigeria to fight against coronavirus so also Nigerian Billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola who reportedly Donated the sum of One Billion Naira (N1billion) for the same course of fighting the rampaging virus. Formal Vice President and presidential candidate in the last general elections, Alahji Atiku Abubakar was not left out in the giving as he equally donated the sum of Fifty Million Naira (N50 million) to support Nigeria’s government in the fight against COVID-19 as he also asked Nigerian government to pay the sum of N10,000 to each household in the country to cushion the effect of stay-at-home directive. Nigerian business mogul, Aliko Dangote also donated the sum of Two Hundred Million Naira (N200 million) for the same fight against coronavirus.

Now, where are our churches in this course? WHEN ARE OUR CHURCHES GOING TO GIVE BACK TO THE MEMBERS WHO HAVE GIVEN SO MUCH TO THEM OUT OF THEIR NOTHINGNESS? It is a popular saying that “To whom much is given, much is expected”. Where is the much from our churches?

The truth is sacrosanct and it always prevails in its fight against lies. It habitually lacerates lies with impunity and gives up its contents to show. Truth is bitter but factual. This same truth has been in struggle with many of our churches all over the world, particularly in Africa and more precisely in Nigeria. Churches I know have supplanted spirituality with prosperity preaching, diluted the true Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ with selfish and egoistic financial calculus.

We have been milked, used and spent by our religious leaders, now where is the much we have given?

Following the upsurge in the cases of Coronavirus in the country, the State Government of Osun has told its junior and middle-level civil servants to proceed on a two-week compulsory sit-at-home starting from Tuesday, 24 March, 2020, as part of measures to contain the spread of the disease.

According to a press release signed by the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Prince Wole Oyebamiji, Governor Adegboyega Oyetola granted the leave for the workers as part of precautionary measures to forestall any possible outbreak of coronavirus anywhere in the State.

The statement quoted Governor Oyetola as saying “all Officers from Grade Level 1 – 12 in all services of the State should proceed on two weeks sit-at-home beginning from Tuesday, 24th March 2020”.

However, workers on essential services such as health, environmental sanitation, fire service, among others are not affected by the directive.

“All Officers on essential services in Health and Medical facilities, Environmental Sanitation, Fire Services, Water Corporation, and all other essential services, are to be reporting for duty as usual”, the statement noted.

While emphasising the premise for Osun’s preventive protocols, the Governor said: “it will be noted that the coronavirus has not spread to this State, but the Government will not spare any effort that will make the State continue to be free of this pandemic coronavirus.”

Meanwhile the head of service Dr Oyebade Olowogboyega has enjoined the affected civil servants to observe personal hygiene while at home.

He also charge them to avoid any gathering to forestall the occurrence of Covid 19 in the state of Osun.

According to him all the civil servants are to stay in their home and not travel outside the state.
They are also to keep their phones opened as any of the officers can be recalled to work as necessities warrant.

The Grand Imaam of the State of Osun and President, League of Imaams and Alfas, Sheikh Musa Animasahun has instructed that all central mosques in the State suspend Jumaat prayers from today and until further notice.

In a statement made available to newsmen, the Grand Imaam observed that the step became necessary in view of the spread of the dreaded Corona virus which one prays does not get to Osun,yet,precautionary measures have to be taken.

Sheikh Animashaun also added that the directive is in line with the State Government’s instruction that all public gatherings be suspended as a check against the pandemic.

The Chief Imaam therefore enjoins all Imaams of central mosques to adhere to this and inform the congregation appropriately.

Official reports have shown that Italy has reportedly recorded more number of deaths from coronavirus compare to the deaths recorded in China as reported by the available data from Johns Hopkins University in the US.

According to the data, the number of death recorded in Italy within 24 hours rose from 427 to 3,405 which has exceeded the number of deaths from China by 160 deaths as the total deaths recorded so far in China stands at 3,245.

Meanwhile, the number of confirmed cases in Italy stands at 41,035 which mean is lower in number against the confirmed cases in China of 80,907.

The statistics further reveals that the number of confirmed cases of coronavirus globally has arrived to 220,000 cases as at the time of filling this report. From the 220,000 confirmed cases, about 84,000 people have recovered from the virus while about 8,800 people have lost their lives to the highly contagious and deadly virus, Covid-19.

A 21-year-old Uganda man identified as John Reagan Ngobi has been arrested by police after setting three churches on fire because the churches preach prosperity gospel and still not able to take him out of poverty.

The incident happened at Kira Municipality in Wakiso District of Uganda where the three churches are located. According to the suspect who confessed to the crime after his arrest said he got angry with the churches because they failed to take him out of poverty despite their prosperity preaching. The three churches set on fire by Reagan are: Liberty Church of Christ International for Born Agains under the leadership of pastor Bageya Vincent; St Noah Catholic Church, headed by Rev. Father Mathias Mulumba Kalemba and God’s Tour Promising Church also located in Kosokoso under leadership of Pastor Odinga Kadika Nandere.

Police source said the suspect bought two litres of petrol with a litre of paraffin and used it to burn the churches. Fortunately the whole church did not burn but some valuables including furniture, musical instruments, other materials were burnt.

Police in the state said; “In one church, things like sofa set, altar wine, curtains, and church books whose value is not yet established were burnt. Similarly in another church, clothes for Reverends, church books, altar wine, curtains aand plastic chairs all valued at Shs 1.5 million were put on fire with intent to burn the whole church but the fire did not spread further”

Police added that the suspect reported himself at Kira Division after carrying out the act. In his possession were three knives which he said he bought them for self defense in case there could be some restrictions during his attack.

The suspect is cooling off his feet in police detention as further investigation is being carried out on the matter.

A 50-years-old woman was on Saturday March 7, 2020 beheaded by a ritualist in Oku Abak community of Akwa Ibom State while working in her cassava farm.

The woman was reportedly in her farm when the suspected ritualist trialed her to the farm and beheaded her after overpowering her in a struggle.

According to reports, a young boy who had followed the woman to the farm raised an alarm to the villagers when he discovered the woman had been killed before the youths of the community set up stop and search network all round the bush paths and major roads in the area.

Their efforts yielded result when the suspect was arrested with the newly-severed head of his victim.

Upon his arrest, he was stripped naked and paraded in the village as the youth of Area went berserk, wanted to lynch him before he was eventually rescued and taken away by the men of the Nigerian Police force.

Interrogating him at the police station, the suspect confessed to have committed the crime and said a prophetess sent him to get her a human head after she had paid him the sum of N150,000.

Meanwhile, the body of the woman was recovered as well as the severed head while the criminal is cooling off in police custody pending further investigation and subsequent prosecution if found guilty.

Some men of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) had allegedly deflated tyre of a car driven by a lady who was taking pregnant woman in labour to the hospital, an act that has been trailed with reactions on social media.

A Tweeter user tweeted the scenario and narrated how his sister was stopped and her car tyre deflated because she refused to yield to the FRSC’s attempt to extort her with the sum of N20,000.

Added that they accused her that the pregnant woman in her car did not put on seatbelt which the woman herself told them that she could not use the belt because she was having severe cramps for being in labour.

Video clip of the FRSC officials was uploaded on social media while a lady was fretting and telling them they would be exposed on social media.

The video has therefore sparked off various reactions on social media as many condemned the act of deflating the woman’s car tyre when it was obvious that a pregnant woman in labour was in the car.

Other reactions presumed that the woman might have been rude and uncivil to the officials but concluded that her tyre should not have been made flat for the sake of the pregnant woman in the car.

According to a popular online personality, Human Rights Activist, Segun Awosanya popularly known as Segalink who reacted to the issue, he condemned the use of ‘uniforms’ to oppress innocent Nigerians as it has been an everyday case in Nigeria.

Zambian authorities were on Monday, February 24 made an official statement on the seizure of $2.8 million Bugatti Veyron car at their Kenneth Kaunda International Airport.

According to the authorities, the Zambia’s Department of Drugs Enforcement Commission informed the newsmen that the seizure was in line to allow the Commission to investigate the source of the money used in purchase of the luxury car.

The authorities said some members of the public have raised concerns over the owner of the car and his source of money which prompted the commission to take necessary action in investigating and establishing the source of the money for its purchase.

The authorities wrote: “The Drug Enforcement Commission has received numerous concerns from members of the public regarding the Bugatti which came through the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport on Monday 24th February, 2020.

Motorbike Rider In Critical Condition After Crashing His Bike on Friday February 28 Along Ona Baba Ona In Osogbo

A motorbike accident involving a lone rider has left its victim in a critical condition after crashing his bike along Ona Baba Ona, close to Oke-Baale junction in Oshogbo.

The accident which involved a young man who was reportedly coming from Oke-Baale area happened when the man lost the control of his motorbike and somersaulted along the road.

The man who was visibly writhing in pain has injuries all over his body with a part of his head badly wounded.

Eyewitnesses’ accounts reported that the accident was caused as a result of over speeding by the motorcyclist.

VerityBase reporter was at the scene of the accident and reported that one of the onlookers was able to identify the accident victim and called his brother who immediately rushed to the scene thereby taking him to the hospital.

Beneficiaries of N-Power Scheme under the Federal Government’s Social Investment Programme (SIP) on Thursday, February 20 asked for resignation of Ms Hajia Farouq over the non-payment of their January stipend.

Some of the beneficiaries who expressed their unhappiness over non-payment said the anomaly only set in when Ms Sadiya Farouq , the Minister for Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management took over the program from the office the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo some months back.

The non-payment or delay in payment of the beneficiaries is becoming a reoccurring decimal as similar situation played out some months back when payment of 3 months was delayed.

It will be recalled that since the N-Power kicked off in December 2016, it was being handled by the office of the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo before it was recently taken over by the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management headed by minister, Sadiya Farouq.

“Apart from the payment delay, the beneficiaries also mentioned attempts by the office of the minister to stop some of the programmes under the scheme pointing to the fact that the minister has refused to make funds available for the school feeding programme in some states.

While registering their displeasure over the non-payment, the beneficiaries under National Association Of N-power Volunteers said that they would no longer hesitate to embark on a strike action if their allowances were not paid.

“We believe that Hajia Farouq has a selfish agenda to sabotage the effort of the Federal Government to eliminate unemployment as she had continually held on to public money without reasons.

“We are hereby calling on the minister to as a matter of urgency give us reasons why she has deliberately refused to pay volunteers who have exhausted their time, energy and resources offering voluntary service to the Federal Government.

“She should also give volunteers a reason why she was still holding to that position she currently occupies knowing fully well that she is incapacitated in running this all important office as the lives of many Nigerian youth solely depends on this stipend that she had continued to deny them promptly.

“To this end, we shall embark on a peaceful protest both physical and online to demand her resignation, prompt payment of stipend”.

A 26-year-old security man from Florida, Chauncy Lump has been arrested for threatening to kill US President, Donald Trump for ordering the killing of the Iranian top General, Qassem Soleimani in Iraq.

His arrest was sequent to his Facebook live video post where he threatened to kill the president over the US drone airstrike that killed General Qassem Soleimani that sparked outrage and war actions in Iran.

Lump wrote on his Facebook wall: “He killed my leader, please tell me where is Donald Trump? ” I need to find the Donald because if I dont find, I am going to have to blow up Broward County”. It was also learned that the video shows an AK-47 semi-automatic rifle he might be planning to use to carry out his threat.

Secret Agent, Lucas White explained that Lump produced the video after President Trump announced the killing Soleimani for allegedly planning several terrorist attacks in target places.

Lump reportedly tagged the seven-minute live video “Blackman vs America” and made several threat to kill Donald Trump for the sole action of killing General Soleimani.

Meanwhile, when Lump was arrested and confronted with the evidence, he said it was all joke that he never meant all the threats. He added that he should not have even produced the video in the first place. “I should not have did it in the first place”, Lump stated.

Lump is now facing Federal Charges of threatening to kill a sitting president and he will soon know his fate.

The body of murdered final year student of Lagos State University (LASU) who was killed by her boyfriend has been exhumed by the Police Special Team from Osun State.

According to our source, the police in the state was ordered to exhume the corpse of the student for autopsy.

Favour Deley-Olaleke was killed by her boyfriend on December 8, 2019 after her boyfriend,Adeeko Owolabi conspired with 42-year-old-self-acclaimed Cherubim & Seraphim pastor, Segun Phillip and murdered her for ritual.

The deceased had left home on same December 8, according to her parents after she received a call from her boyfriend, Owolabi and told her to meet at location in Ikoyi-ile, Osun State.

Her parents made frantic efforts same day to contact her on phone but all to no avail and her parents thereafter reported at Mowe police Station in Ogun State, stated that she was missing.

In his confessional statement, Owolabi said he killed Favour with pestle when she was asleep as he used it to smash her head and vital organs in her body were removed to prepare money ritual.

Police in Ogun State swung into action after the case was reported and arrested Owolabi and Segun Phillip alongside Owolabi’s mother who was said to be also involved in the dastardly act.

After the arrests, Owolabi who is the prime suspect and others confessed to the crime, said he used the girl for ritual when he was frustrated with the poverty state of his family particularly his mother.

The Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO), Ogun State Police Command, Abimbola Oyeyemi confirmed the arrests and disclosed that the two suspects were arrested by police attached to Mowe Police Division at Ikoyi-Ile in Osun State after diligent investigations.

“The detectives went into full-scale technical and forensic investigation of the case and their efforts paid off when the movement of the deceased was traced to a white garment church in far away Ikoyi-Ile in Osun State, being pastored by one Segun Philip.“On getting to the church, the self-acclaimed pastor was promptly arrested, but he was quick to inform the detectives that the girl was brought to him by her boyfriend, Adeeko Owolabi, who was still within the vicinity of the church. The said boyfriend was traced and apprehended immediately.”

The PPRO added that during the interrogation, Owolabi claimed he lured his girlfriend from Lagos to Osun. Owolabi also confessed that while he used pestle to smash his girlfriend’s head during her sleep, his pastor cut off her neck.He further revealed that the pastor cut open his girlfriend’s chest, removed her heart and used it to prepare concoction for him and his mother. He said the financial situation of his family led him to go to the pastor who asked him to bring a human being for ritual.

“On interrogation, Adeeko Owolabi confessed to the police that the deceased was his girlfriend and that he had lured her to Ikoyi-Ile where he had perfected plans with the so-called pastor Segun Philip to use her for money ritual.“When asked what pushed him to such devilish act, Owolabi explained that he decided to go into money ritual because things were not going well with his parents financially, especially his mother who used to be the family breadwinner. A man has come out to show a video which he claims shows when Sowore was injected with lethal chemical.

The video which originally emerged immediately after the mega drama of his rearrest by Department of State Security (DSS) on 6th of December, 2019 within the court room. After the court drama, many people commented on Twitter about a strange man who came from nowhere ‘touched’ Sowore with ‘something.’

In the video, a man could be seen dressed like a lawyer ‘touched’ Sowore in the height of the dramatic scene. Many people have claimed that the man was ‘sponsored’ to ‘inject’ Sowore with lethal poison to destroy his stem cells and inhibit them from multiplying thereby causing his death gradually.

A man who released video on this said the chemical is used to assassinate high-profile individuals and Sowore’s case may not be an exception.

Meanwhile, the man who was allegedly to have injected Sowore is seen in another video where he stood beside the Lead prosecutor of DSS, Dr. Lima Hassan. When he allegedly sensed that he could be interviewed, he took off his wig (because he dressed like a lawyer) and disappeared at that moment.

It was later after the court drama of Sowore’s rearrest that the man resurfaced and seen touch Sowore probably with some chemical as alleged.

I have tried that but I did not see any title tag there

I just need somebody to explain it to me how to do it.
