A lot of us can't see that our country has been projected never to succeed.

Firstly, countries are trying hard to improve their OPEC quota but then the situation with Nigeria is different.
In 2014 we were effortlessly exporting the 2.5 million barrel daily.
There was massive recruitment into the special force in order to combat militancy, there was better negotiation with militants heads and Niger delta stake holders in order to improve the situation since 2015 but then we're loosing extra 1million barrel per day.
Some would say the FG is responsible but then every logical step has been taken by the FG..
The FG needs those extra 1million being lost daily so they can steal, settle some debt and individuals but then we're loosing these stuffs...
The real question to ask is unknown sef.
How do we survive the onslaught.
Who's sabotaging us.
A refinery that was suppose to be our economic solution is into play but then our exchange rate was bleeped beyound measure to make it happen.
In 2014 we had almost zero rice produce, zero refinery, zero active rail way, zero car manufacturing company yet our exchange rate was 180..
Today we've improved on these stuffs yet the economy continue to decline.
What's happening I ask again?
If anyone explained Nigeria to you and you understand, then that means he/she didn't explained it truthfully

Known monopolist by beer parlour talks, why not show evidences of how dangote is a monopolist.

For decades Nigeria had no refinery, he decided to build one and sudden they tell us he is a monopolist cheesy
why did any of you not build a refinery b4 dangote thought of it.

How is Dangote fighting competition, if i want to buy elephant or larfarge cement will something bad happen to me or will i get arrested
Dangote ×3 cement is the best cement in Nigeria, most demanded by builders how is that dangote fault thats what some people twist into monopoly, i see other cement but i alway insist on dangote cement how is that Monopoly.

show us moves from Dangote that depict true Monopoly
Nigeria doesn't have a refinery?

So how come there are refiner's association?

Maybe you were not born in the obj era, i don't have time schooling ignorance

Dangote sued other indigenous investors and got away with it.

FG gave out licenses to many companies to build refineries. Only Dangote built one. Countries babysits individual that build industries in the country and that’s what they should do. Giving favorable forex to companies that are building manufacturing capacity is what Nigeria should do and that’s not even enough. Tax breaks and more incentives needs to come into play. For example, Canada is giving upto $13 billion to Volkswagen to build a plant in the country. This is how you create good jobs, not importing what you can produce.
And it will shock you that Volkswagen car's will become cheaper over there

Your Dangote is selling petrol even above the price of imported one's

Does it make sense?

Nobody is stoping anyone from building a refinery in Nigeria and compete. It’s utterly mor.onic and makes no sense to say that people should be allowed to import to compete. That’s not competition, that’s destroying your manufacturing base.
Building a refinery like the government monopolistic babysitting bastards won't fight against them, when he sees competitions?

You think other indigenous investors would've been granted scarce forex like dangote was granted? Or don't you know the kind of system been ran in this country?

God bless you, people dont know that most of these oil marketers have fleet of shipping vessels for importing refined products, tank farms for storing their products which sometimes leased to government for some huge amount, . With dangote refinery coming onboard, their vessels, tank farms, depots will all be shut down which automatically leads them to bankrupcy. Their only lifeline in this game is importation and they will fight it with their last blood. Any Nigerian who doesnt support dangote to eradicate these leeching cabals is an enemy of this great Nation.
Anybody supporting a known monopolist that always fight competitions just to have his way in this dying economy is the real worst enemy of this nation

You work in the cement sector but it doesn't mean you understand history, economics and public policy at all. That is why you're supporting this move by Dangote.

Dangote cement started as a monopoly, thanks to frivolous and corrupt court judgement and politicians. A market where 3 producers are colluding and control 99% of the market is a monopoly (oligopoly if you want to sound politically correct but stupid). This is why in Nigeria cement was N2000 in 2015 but in 2024 cement is over N12000, over 500% increase meanwhile in India cement was 224 rupees in 2015 and around 400 rupees in 2024, less than 100% increase.

What is the cause of 500% price increase in Nigeria vs less than 100% price increase in India over a 9 years period? Monopoly, colluding, corruption?

It's because of the monopoly and favourable treatment Dangote is always getting from corrupt Nigerian government and politicians that people with serious money don't want to establish their own companies to compete with Dangote. If you know what monopolist do to destroy competition, you will hide your head in shame for supporting Dangote.

Nigeria has abundance of materials used to produce cement yet Dangote will wake up and unilaterally hike price 100%, 200%, 300% and there's nothing you can do because the rest mushroom producers will do same cos they're in the same WhatsApp group and foolish citizens will come online to support Dangote.

Meanwhile when their landlord increase house rent they start crying.

Now Dangote is repeating same dirty tactics for pms and you're here supporting him.

But when you start queuing to buy fuel for 2500-5000; when price of foodstuffs tripple and when evey other thing becomes more expensive you start looking for who to blame not knowing yourself is to blame for supporting and stupidly rationalising monopoly.
God Bless You Sir 🤗❤️

There are other small modular refineries that even started operating before Dangote. See, we are the architect of our suffering in this country. We like promoting foreign products and we will still be blaming govt for lack of job and winding down of companies. How would Companies survive when we believed in foreign products than local one? Importers knew the truths while they don't want to patronised Local refineries because they make triple profit if not double. They make Super profit because they buy substandard products. Those cartel in that oil industry will not want home made to grow because it's going to dearly bring their wealth in to comatose.

It started when Sani Yerima, the then governor of Zamfara state returned to Nigeria and introduced unconstitutional Islamic sharia criminal justice system in his state. The political and religious leaders in the other 11 far north states quickly adopted sharia crimimal justice system to the consternation of rest of Nigeria and the Obasanjo led government. Obasanjo dismissed it as political sharia.
Sharia criminal laws include stoning blasphemous persons to death, stoning women to death for adultery, cutting out the hands of thieves.
A BBC female reporter asked Yerima if he didn't understand that his sharia criminal justice system in a multi religious society like Nigeria, can lead to break up of Nigeria.
Shortly after, Boko Haram emerged and says that it's fighting for a Nigeria to be governed with Sharia criminal laws. Bandits emerged from Boko Haram. Secessionist groups in the south emerged.
Nigeria, its unity, economy and security, have plummeted to an all time low since then.
What reply did the dumb aboki gave the BBC reporter?

Some of you just type without thinking. You built a factory of $20B. You started producing. You have your money to make because you need to make your $20B back alongside profits and payments of salary. You now come and say you won't sell to a particular group of people because.... when they are actually ready to pay you your money? See, many of you on nairaland with only emotions but no logic.

On the other hand, the man Dangote cannot be trusted. Is his refinery able to produce for about those 8,9,10 countries he mentioned? Me I personally don't think so. I think it's a trick. Mind you, he wants to stop importers from importing so that he would have successfully monopolized the sector too. Is he being realistic?

These refineries are willing to undercut Dangote on price even if it means selling at a loss for a few years. They will then revert to high prices when Dangote has been frustrated out of refining.

That's exactly what Ethiopian Air planned to do to Nigerian airlines.

So why is INNOSON and other local automobile manufacturers don't go to court to sue importers of foreign automobiles into the country.

If imported refined petroleum products are now cheaper than the ones that Dangote produces locally, then importers should go ahead and import.

This exploitations for financial gains must stop.
