John, an electrical engineer with a 34-year-old son, has said he even intends to marry his teenage girlfriend.
His ex Jacqui, 63, who first got together almost 40 years ago, said: "I think he’s gone nuts.

"He’s always been a bit of a player but it’s beyond the pale."

But the loved-up couple, who have been pictured walking around their local town hand-in-hand, don't see any problem with the 43-year age gap.

"We are very much in love and intend to marry," said Mr Copsey.
