Rangers forced substitution. Captain and CB off injured.
Sports / Re: NPL LIVE!: Lobi Stars Vs Enugu Rangers by sleekcm(m): 4:40pm On Apr 25, 2013
There's just one football team on the pitch; Enugu Rangers. They seem to be up against Stoke City and the Ref.

Still 1-0 Lobi. (40mins)
Sports / Re: NPL LIVE!: Lobi Stars Vs Enugu Rangers by sleekcm(m): 4:31pm On Apr 25, 2013
I think the quality of the ball in use is quite poor. Not sure it's FIFA standard. Still 1-0 Lobi. Rangers just went close!

Mod can you move this thread to the front page for the benefit of NPL fans.

Rangers looking to play the ball on the turf. Lobi taking the route one approach.
Sports / Re: NPL LIVE!: Lobi Stars Vs Enugu Rangers by sleekcm(m): 4:10pm On Apr 25, 2013
Wow! The officiating in the NPL is piss poor. It's like the Ref is on a mission to ensure Rangers lose.
Sports / Re: NPL LIVE!: Lobi Stars Vs Enugu Rangers by sleekcm(m): 4:07pm On Apr 25, 2013
5 mins played. No rhythm to the match yet. It's like I am watching Stoke Vs WestHam.
Sports / Re: NPL LIVE!: Lobi Stars Vs Enugu Rangers by sleekcm(m): 3:58pm On Apr 25, 2013
The pitch looks ok. There are about one thousand fans in the small stadium already.

The teams are out on the field.

I am at the George Akume Stadium in Katsina-Ala, Benue State. I will try as much as possible to give you guys live updates. Kick-Off is minutes away (4.00pm). I don't have the team news. There's no big screen scoreboard here.

Why is Hargreaves the subject of another argument? The is retired! And England do have a utility player. James Milner.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by sleekcm(m): 1:49pm On Apr 18, 2013
The argument here is almost laughable. The Bundesliga has had a fantastic run in the Champions League this season. That doesn't necessary make it better than the Premier League overnight. As one poster pointed out, this is a one off. They'll have to perform at this level repeatedly over a longer period.

The premier league clubs weren't at the races this season. That doesn't make them weaker. They will be back.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by sleekcm(m): 3:33pm On Apr 16, 2013
Wow! Some people are really thick. Mbia ahead of Arteta? Ridiculous. I wouldn't take Mbia ahead of Frimmers!

Tough game vs Everton tonight. I hope our little Mozart starts. Walcott too. Per for TV5 to take care of Fellaini's aerial threat. We need to play at a high tempo and get at Everton. Poldi will have to make way for Carthola though. Tough game.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Globacom Sales Activation Agent Interview by sleekcm(m): 10:45am On Apr 11, 2013
It is a sales job. You would probably be championing the coys SIM Activation drive wrt the new MNP. I believe it's a contract position. Pay would most likely be 50K+3K airtime monthly+5K conveyance(min) monthly. You get a chance to build a sales career. Glo usually recruit sales staff from their contract staff. Good luck.

STATE: Bayelsa
PPA: GSS Anyama-Ogbia, Ogbia LGA
BATCH: A, Stream 1
YEAR: 2008/2009
CDS: No activities on water! Anyama-Ogbia is about 30-40 mins on speed boat from Swali-Waterside in Yenagoa. We paid #200 monthly, I think.
I have very pleasant memories of serving there. Some of my students still call me after four years! Proud of the impression I left on them.

Career / Glo Scamming It's Sales Staff by sleekcm(m): 9:19am On Mar 02, 2013
Globacom for two months now have refused to pay it's Sales staff in full. It started just like a bad rumour; their ill planned 70/30 policy, but alas, it quickly became the norm. No official explanation of any kind, your monthly pay just got cut by 30% for no just reason. You get only 70%, whether you meet minimum of 70% of your Sales target or not. Conveyance isn't paid anymore. They still owe the recently converted staff pdm allowance of almost 200K.

Monkey dey work, baboon dey chop. As a friend put it on his bb this morning: "70/30 will not yield the desired result."

Wake up Globacom and take the welfare of your Staff seriously. The likes of P-Square, Jim Iyke and Basket Mouth doesn't deliver the figures, reward the people that make this money accordingly.

Sports / Osaze Odemwingie Lashes Out At Keshi And NFF Over AFCON 2013 Exclusion by sleekcm(m): 1:10pm On Dec 23, 2012
After Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi made public his squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations, he had left Peter Odemwingie and Obafemi Martins out.

Instead, manager Keshi preferred to take other Premier League forwards Victor Moses and Shola Ameobi.

Definitely not excited, Peter took to Twitter some minutes ago to vent his anger, bare his mind.

Read his tweets after the cut - from bottom to top.

Fish isn't cheap in Bayelsa o! That is a mirage. There's electricity and water at the camp. Just go with enough cash as the food served from the kitchen is mostly poor.

I forgot to add - most of the communities across water have very fine Corpers' Lodges. Where they aren't available, the communities usually provide decent accommodation. The corper's lodge in Anyama-Ogbia, Ogbia LGA, some 40minutes or so by speedboat from Swali waterside, Yenagoa is top class. Other neighbouring communities like Anyakoro, Otuedu, Onuegbu, etc also have decent lodges. I still miss those places. And would surely visit them sometime in the future. One of the nicest moments/experiences of my life. You guys go serve and enjoy it.

I was a batch A, 2008/2009 NYSC member in Bayelsa. A few heads up 4 u guys: 1. If you want to be posted to Yenagoa after camp, you must be at least part of the following- a. State NYSC football team. B. Volleyball team (for the ladies). C. Drama group. D. OBS team member. E. HIV advocacy group member etc. 2. Yenagoa corpers are the poorest bunch as cost of living is high in the capital. 3. There aren't any Oil companies for u to serve in. Just 4get that thought now. 4. Prepare ur mind to teach full time. 5. Get urself a treated mosquito net cos of their smart mosquitoes and sunflies. 6. Be ready to serve across the water. Every1 can't be in Yenagoa. 7. Bayelsa ladies/girls worship corpers. They are also free with the gifts so careful u don't get any pregnant! Be smart! 8. The best place to serve in my opinion is across the water. You get to appreciate the importance of the service and learn a different culture. The ppl will love and respect you. That's a nice feeling/experience to live with when it's all over.

For the guys, be warned! The girls are sexually aware and will do anything to sleep with u! Even ur very own students! Sex is like water in Bayelsa! It's welcome. Happy Service Year!

Politics / Re: Lawyers Protest Bad Roads In Aba by sleekcm(m): 1:06am On Sep 21, 2012
Let me just share this briefly. I took a bus from Aba to Lagos on Tuesday and there was a journalist who came on inspection/fact-finding mission to Abia State in that same bus. He made some mind-blowing revelations. I never knew the problem of Abia was that big. T.A Orji is a major reason why Abia is backwards but he isn't the only one. It was T.A who made Orji Uzor Kalu governor. He rigged him in - when he was Abia INEC chairman - or whatever they called it back then. It was T.A who introduced Orji Uzor Kalu to Okija Shrine things. T.A also taught Orji how to be mean. It's only natural that Orji Uzor Kalu had to show appreciation by rewarding him with Abia State for 4 years. Jonathan ensured he came back through massive rigging using the shameless traditional Ezes' in the state. Now, this journalist alleges that there is a list of about 150 prominent Nigerians that T.A Orji and his army of bandits pays monthly to keep quiet about what's happening in the state. Top on this list is no other than the first lady - Dame Patience Jonathan- who is paid an unbelievable #300million/month.

Abia State receives a monthly allocation of #6billion naira + IGR of #3billion but T.A and his government of touts shares it out among themselves and uses the rest to keep some people quiet. That's why it's almost impossible for him to undertake any meaningful capital project. Unless you count sharing Keke Napep among his party thugs!

Now this journalist also confirmed a story I've heard severally in Aba and swept it aside as a common rumour. T.A recently bought a ship but had some problems. He involved Orji Uzor Kalu to help secure the transaction by paying a LITTLE sum of #45billion into his account! Well Orji Uzor thanked his stars and banked the money! End of story! Money lost. No ship.

These are just some of the reasons why T.A Orji can never develop or construct the roads in Abia State. His government is a giant corruption circus, well backed by Jonathan and his wife.

These NBA Aba branch members were not just protesting against the state of roads in Aba but also against the arrest of a member who dared to write articles against the poor state of governance in the state. Trust T.A and his thugs, they quickly arrested him and accused him of trying to stir up the people against his government.

This journalist might have a very difficult task cos he appears alone in the fight to expose the decay in Abia State. His colleagues who came with him on this inspection were quickly bribed by T.A and awarded lucrative contracts to keep them shut. But he plans to involve the BBC and CNN to beam the story of Abia to the world s

@Abagworo, I see you came to Aba to buy gworo? Anyway, the pics you took shows the good parts of Aba-Owerri road only. That is just one road in Aba.

Politics / Re: Abia Was An Abandoned Project – Governor Orji by sleekcm(m): 7:37pm On Sep 05, 2012
I can't wait to get out of Aba. It's been a nightmare for two years.

Aba is the dirtiest city/town I've seen in my young life. Aba and Abia State also has the worst road network in Nigeria. It's heartbreaking to pass through the hell holes on Aba roads everyday.

Ogbor Hill, Waterside, 7up/Umoba Road, Ngwa Road/Ohanku, Faulks Road/ Ariaria, Brass Juction just to name a few. These roads which are very strategic are in terrible condition.

You dare not step out once it rains without a rain boot! Sometimes I wonder if T.A Orji is actually from Abia or if he's just plain wicked. How can a human being allow his people to suffer so much?

Granted the Aba-PH road is a federal road but othe state governments do construct the federal roads in their states and get paid by the federal government. Oil trucks and trailers collapse on this road on a daily basis. It's an eyesore.

I'll start taking pictures of all these so the world can see what's going in this state with so much commercial potential. I weep for Abia people.

T.A Orji makes Peter Obi look like a messiah.
