FamilyRe: Culture Vs Legal Law: Who Owns The Child??? by sleeveless: 12:09pm On Nov 24, 2017
naijaboiy:
That is the tradition in the place you come from. But the courts will not be bound by local customs and traditions especially when it's repugnant to natural justice.

In my opinion the major case at hand should be who would get custody and not who is the real father. The identity of the real father is not far fetched, denying a child does not terminate the fact that the child is yours.

The only time when such actions will come against the supposed boy is when it comes to the custody of the child and if the family of the girl can prove that the boy is not responsible enough to cater for the child then her husband to be can be made a guardian.

Often times things like this are very difficult to prove. So the fact that the other man has paid bride price does not amount to anything in court, he’s only performing marriage rites and activities which has no connection with the child at hand.

And in my opinion it would be a crime for him to take the wife and unborn child away when he has no legal custody of the child yet. He won’t go to Europe and tell the authorities that he paid the bride price for his wife and the culture automatically allowed him to have the child, what they would need is legal proof that he has custody of the child not payment of bride price.

Most of this cases are judged in the customary court, and and customary court gives verdict according to the custom and tradition of where d court is situated. Don't be surprise if d step-dad wins in court

one of the things I like about d people of Akwa Ibom is dat dey are not complaining dat d governor is not working but only complaining of the choice of projects. they are complaining that he intendeds to build a mini stadium in Eket Nd tomorrow u will want to earn like neymar. I believe d stadium is one of d best gift he can give to dem if d stadium is properly structured

PoliticsRe: Akwa Ibom To Build Stadium In Eket by sleeveless: 12:12am On Jul 13, 2017
kjhova:
The only ignorant entity on display here seem to be you and I really mean this not to be seen as an insult. Why am I engaged in such speculation as aforementioned? See below:

1) Was the Uyo stadium built at the cost of over N100Bn? Please show us your source and I will accept as default.
2) Have states not invested in industries before in this Nigeria and the investments still go bad? So what is this point about industries?
3) Do you have any proof that Akwa Ibom isn't already investing in industry along with the stadium project?
4) Are you aware that even if it takes the Uyo stadium 15 years to break even, it is still viable for such high end project?
5) Do you realize that Akwa Ibom's improving sports facilities profile is part of the state's larger tourism drive which is beneficial on the long run?
6) In simplicitas, is it wise for you to stamp me as ignorant on a matter which you have very scanty info on?; How much will the Eket stadium cost, what is the breakdown of the funding, When is the targeted break even, what other values are envisaged besides financials, etc, etc.

Don't throw abusives, man. The Eket stadium is worth it IMO...& this is my opinion.
you are very right with your analysis, from all d comment I read only few persons supported d project . those complaining are doing so because they will always see everything wrong in a laudable ideal.
They have forgotten that sports is the highest employer of youth. that stadium will end up taking some folks from grass to grace.
Eket certainly needs a stadium cos from Eket to uyo is over an hour. maybe those complaining shud channel their frustration to their governors

But it is ok for a brain surgeon to be in charge of housing and urban development?

Under this same lawyer, are you aware that power generation rose to the highest in the history of this country? He has surpassed the achievements of all your so called specialist

Modern governance has gone beyond your level of thinking. A professional does not automatically means a sound administrator.

And if I may ask, what is the profession of GEJ to qualify him to lead this country?

Stop the hate speech.
my dear u are d one bringing hate speech into this, am only interested in professionalism.
you may not necessary b a graduate to b a president or governor all u need at this point is the leadership skills to help u in the coordination of all ur appointees. but to b a minister of some key sector of the nation u need to be specialist
like d ministry of Justice, health , works Nd power , agriculture, education, defence. these are ministry that shud b handled by professional, just try to compare Adesina Nd Audu Ogbeh d difference is clear
my dear stop celebrating mediocrity it will take us no were . Shalom

Ijaya123:
Mr man, stop this arrogant display of ignorance.

Do you know the man called Dr. Ben Carson? He occupies the post equivalent to a minister in USA now. You can go check the ministry he heads.
Mr man you are d one displaying ignorance, Ben Carson is in charge of housing and urban development and not power, works and housing like our minister of darkness. power is a specialise area that need specialist input, just like an Engr can not head d health ministry or an accountant heading d ministry of justice, a lawyer should not also become a minister of power. it is wrong in its entirety and has obviously affected productivity
PoliticsRe: House Summons Fashola Over Comments On Budget by sleeveless: 11:03pm On Jul 04, 2017
Ijaya123:
Post of a minister is not mandatory for a professional but an administrator. And Fashola is well qualified.

I sense a bit of hatred in your post.
because its a post of a minister so we can make an Engr d minister of justice abi. not until we start putting square pegs in square holes this nation will b on a reverse gear

Oga u don't have to be an engineer before assuming a position of leadership. As a lawyer he did excellently well in Lagos. In a more organized and sincere country, Fashola will excel.
Also as a botanist u can be d minister of justice .
