My friend you work with what you have. Using your anology, would Guardiola use the same offensive mindset if he was the manager to Shaffield United? We do not have world class players like we had in 1994. Players we have now are younger, faster and more suited for quick counter attacks. Until we get dependable, consistent midfielders that can work in tight spaces, I think Rohr should continue with team his build up.
God bless you sir.

Nigerians don't know what they want, if he had gone offensive against Brazil and was hammered 5:0 the same people would be saying 'why didn't he have a good defense, why should we be beaten 5:0 by Brazil'

When I read their comments and I remember they're not in charge of the NFF I just thank God

sir you mean indigenous coaches like imama? ??
c'mon Rohr is miles ahead of that guy .

in transparency and even tactically.

rohr have been slightly fair like 60-70% in players selection I doubt we'll ever achieve that with an indigenous coach
Seconded

Update: QPR Ebere Eze Doesn’t Need FIFA Clearance To Play For Nigeria Despite Representing England U20
Per the rules governing the eligibility of a player to play for another country without requiring FIFA’s permission to switch, QPR Ebere Eze doesn’t need to go through the process if he decide to play for the Super Eagles, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
This portal yesterday ran a story base on reports from the side of coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Gernot Rohr who insisted that the player need his switch of allegiance to be confirmed by FIFA before he is eligible to play for Nigeria after representing England at U20 level.
The report is however not true as Eze, who is viewed as one of the best midfielders in the English Championship represented England in a friendly tournament organised by the German FA and not UEFA as posted by this portal yesterday.
Eze has played seven matches for the U20 of England, four in the 8 team Elite League competition organised by the German FA and three in friendly games. He has twice made the bench in FIFA/UEFA organised tournament but didn’t get to play.

A line from the guidelines by FIFA for players switch of allegiance stated clearly that a player will require approval to switch nationality only if he has played in an official tournament, the section is quoted below.
Principle of National Team Eligibility
Article 5.1 states: “Any person holding a permanent nationality that is not dependent on residence in a certain country is eligible to play for the representative teams of the association of that country.” The terms of this rule prevent temporary residents who are not otherwise citizens of the relevant country being considered eligible.

Article 5.1 further adds: “…any player who has already participated in a match (either in full or in part) in anofficial competition of any category or any type of football for one association may not play an international match for a representative team of another association.” The term “official competition” refers to matches played for representative teams in competitions organised by FIFA or any confederation (i.e. not friendly games).

Therefore it’s safe to say if Eze requires any form of switch before playing for Nigeria it won’t be tedious and time consuming like the case was with Ola Aina which took twelve months but it will be like that of Alex Iwobi whose switched was done swiftly because he only played for England youth team at friendly level.
we have to take our time when it comes to bringing him into the national team.
he must be fully cleared..to avoid CAF from reducing our points in Afcon qualifications.with facts that we fielded an ineligible player..By then many will start raining curses on NFF and rohr.
This situations can be tricky even in club tournaments.

I think Chriskels is right....
this man is not that clean...

wish NFF can pay a good foreign coach we would have gone for someone like arsene Wenger even if it is not possible but someone obviously better than this old German that has no clue
Arsenal Wenger or anyone of his grade will not accept to coach Nigeria, with all the offers in Europe coming for them..it can't work.

Many people on this thread always bringing up their fact that rohr is not taking us to where we ought to be and we don't have a style of play, But still yet you don't want him to understand the players he has at hand and look for better and accommodating style for them.
You people are always insisting new players to be added to the team always, since last month it was Eze and since last week ejaria has been popping up, I want to ask, so if Nigeria was to have 10 dual citizen Ansu fati we will invite all into the team right?
please let's don't forget the fact that experience and maturity also helps when it comes to winning trophies.
I strongly believe the NFF has all these names on their desk and we will work with the gaffer to know who will be needed for his project.

I think we have given Rohr enough time to see where he can take the team. Tactically, he is far from the modern game to match us in the right direction. If after all these years we are still expecting a miracle, then we are not reading writings on the wall.
please what has this man done wrong, the super eagle team which was his duty for him to manage is doing fine,Before the world cup he said we were going there for the experience and with more time we will have a beautiful 2022 world cup,he qualified us for Afcon, and he was given a target, which is the semifinal spot, which dey delivered, so please what else do we Nigerians want.
I guess you want all the young lads in the squad to start defeating all teams,it will take time cause they are from different teams with different styles of play. The popular Belgium team wasn't exceptional in the last euros, even with their squad depth, the player then developed further with their clubs and the last world cup was memorable for them.. we have to ask ourselves this question,Are our precious prospects at the peak of their careers in Europe...it's a big No..our favourite boy chukwueze is finding it very hard to make the match day squad at Villarreal because of is inability to dictate games with goals..And you all feel is the work of the national coach to get the best out of someone he doesn't not train with daily. we can only criticise him when our top players move to bigger European clubs and are not reciprocating their forms in the national team.

Bros get your facts right, don't just single out specific events just to prop yourself up.If falling is the result of making a perforated argument, fall and stand again. It's ok to be wrong. If you wanna bring up the careers of other players to justify the invite of otabor, then do it right. You singled out the years Ekong played in Norway, without indicating the fact that he did so for a year, you made it seem like he played in Norway for 3-4 years. You also brought up Osimhen. Did you just mention that Osimhen was passed around in Belgium? What the hell do you mean? The last I checked Osimhen played for a single Belgian team. If a player played for a succession of lowly-rated teams over a time period of 3-4 years, then honed their skills over the next couple of years to become a decent/good players, it doesn't change the fact that he was average in his previous stint. They might have repented from their sins and become better players. The question is, does he deserve a call-up? No he doesn't. At this point in the time, we have got a large pool of players to pick from, and there is no reason to go as far as Bulgaria to pick someone. Our level don change. When he graduates from average to somewhat good player, maybe he will deserve a call-up then. By the way, usually when a player is average at 23, the likelihood of he continuing that trend of mediocrity his high. That's the problem we have as Nigerians, too much " just take him/her, his fortunes will change" If you have got no substance, with respect to your job, you definitely don't deserve it. Peace
Hmmmm..you are right shaaaa

Rohr is a big part of the corruption syndicate taking money from players to make appearances in the super eagles. Y’all think that oyibo man is not kwarrupt? You’re kidding me. He’s a big scam and is not even playing the best of football for eagles. Keshi’s team played better and Siasia would’ve taken this next generation of talents we’ve got to greater accomplishments. Rohr is a fraud
My man please reconsider your statement...we didn't play Afcon 15 and 17...when this man entered,he took us to the world cup, with a game to spare..And also Afcon 2019 , finishing third. And you call him a fraud...ah ah .bro you are careless and heartless.

Why I Called Up Viv Solomon-Otabor As Replacement For Kalu Ahead Of Ejuke, Okereke – Rohr Explains
October 12, 20190236

Coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Gernot Rohr who is under-fire by the media for calling up CSKA Sofia of Bulgaria winger Viv Solomon-Otabor as replacement for ‎injured Samuel Kalu has explained the reason behind his decision.

The call up to Solomon-Otabor came as a surprise to many considering that the former Birmingham City teenager hasn’t done as much as other Nigerian players plying their trade in leagues higher than that of Bulgaria, Where Solomon-Otabor plays.

Defending his choice in a chat with Owngoalnigeria.com, the Franco-German coach said Solomon-Otabor will surprise many if he gets to play against Brazil and that he called him up as replacement for Kalu because they play same position.

He said he monitored the player for a year before deciding to call him up when the opportunity came following the withdrawal of Kalu. Rohr advised Club Brugge David Okereke and Heerenveen Chidera Ejuke to continue with their impressive form as he will call them up soonest.

” I like what I saw in him when I watched him. He is like Kalu on the wings and we have been monitoring him for some time now. The other players like Okereke, Ejuke will get their chance soon. Solomon got the nod because the vacancy is for a winger. Players doing well need to continue working hard”, the coach explained.

Oga I made no baseless accusation here and never made an accusation. I only responded to the wrong perception by the guy.

Bro, I have travelled out and I can tell you the Europeans have no business cheating with age. There is no need for it. Do you watch premier league programmes when they show history of clubs, mostly Man U? All those players you see that came from their academy, there are videos of them taking part in events. It's shown on DSTV. Why then would they want to cheat when it can be discovered?

Infact, in West Africa now, Nigeria seems to be the only country struggling with age cheat. I watched the recently concluded U17 nd 20 tournaments of both CAF and FIFA. I was shocked to my bone marrow on the relatively young players Mali and Senegal fielded, while players I played with and know are being called in when I'm in my late 20's.

They have all braced up and known that they would end up cheating themselves and have left the disgusting habit done with. So Tammy Abraham, iwobi, aina e.t.c cheated with age?

Don't believe that shit from anyone mate.
This is very wrong from someone who had traveled,Age cheating happens everywhere in the world,....Read more about,martial,kane,eriksen....etc
