Okay so time for timeline and Gist.
This is my 6th admission to conestoga (crazy right ? ) I’ve been getting admission since 2018 but never really made it to the visa application stage because of one document or the other most especially POF but somehow this year I made it work and FINALLY applied. I’ve been denied US visa, Turkish visa and Australian visa in the past so I didn’t exactly have a good record. But the only thing I’ll say is, when you see agents RUN OOH !! They don’t do anything special you’ll end up doing all the work and the only thing they’ll do is fill forms ( secretary isonu ). I did my application by myself from admission to PPR. I don learn my lesson

TIMELINE
Application submitted: Aug 23
Biometrics done : Aug 27
Medical Request: Oct 20
Medical done : Nov 12
Medical passed : Nov 22
BVL & PPR : Dec 13

DOCUMENTS SUBMITTED
Sponsors SOA
Affidavit of sponsorship
Sponsors employment and promotion letter
Sponsors Tax ID & Work ID
Property documents in my name
Employment letter
Letter of introduction from my company
All my certificates (Bsc and Professional)
Birth certificate
Police Certificate
My personal statement of account
Tuition payment ( only paid the 1500 deposit)
Letter of Acceptance

That’s all (I think)

Again, If you haven’t applied do it by yourself! Agents don’t do anything special.

And oh thanks to mankind for sharing some vital information with me

Success to everyone still awaiting Goodnews✅

Hello guys, I have been a silent reader and i would like to appreciate all your efforts towards this study permit journey.
i got a medical request on oct 20 but i wasn't able to do it until Nov 12 due to unavailability of dates. it was updated to passed on Nov 22 but No PPR as of today. Should I be concerned ? i already have my gcms notes but nothing pointing to approval or denial only the fact that medical request has been sent out. i heard medical request is a positive sign. Pls guys what do you suggest that i do ?

Naijaforeigner:
(1) Applying for PGC or PGD depends on you. If you get 2 years visa, when you get to Canada, you don't have to worry about renewing your study permit again. If you get a 1 year visa from Nigeria, you may need to renew your study permit if you choose to do another program, which means showing account statement and all that stuff you did while applying for the first visa (another round of stress).

(2) Remember that the same document it takes to get 1 year visa from Nigeria, is the same document you need in getting 2 years visa.

(3) 2 years PGD or 2 PGC programs will give you 3 years Post graduate work permit (PGWP) while 1 year PGC will give you 1 year work permit.

Will you get job on completion of a 1 year PGC? A big yes if you studied a good course, you are willing to move or travel to any of the provinces in Canada and ready to submit at least 60 resumes. If you think getting visa is hard work, trust me, getting a job could turn out to be harder. You might be lucky to get a job with just 1 resume but just prepare your mind for the extreme.

Now here lies the problem with 1 year PGWP.

- You must get a job fast on completion of your program.

- The job has to be any of the NOC jobs.

- You are stuck with that company for 1 year. Nothing must happen to that job or else....

- You must pass IELTS or CELPIP within that limited time frame and then apply for your PR.

Let me also add, there are other things involved in all of this. Age, experience also plays a role. If you are in your early twenties, you probably don't need as much overall band score in IELTS compared to someone in his/her early thirties that needs good scores.

Some students with money for just 1 program also select schools in provinces where it is easy to get PR via provincial nomination. There are other factors but I will stop here.

More than half of the people that finished my first program with me, applied for 1 year PGWP because they could not afford it and it is very possible they have a PLAN B which I am not aware of.

For me, even though I have a brother that is PR and I could get points from him, I applied for a second program for 3 reasons. (1) I switched to another field (2) I can afford the second program (3) I like my peace of mind. 3 years PGWP will give me the opportunity to explore.

What should I tell you to do? Pray and take the decision you think is the best for you.

All opinions are personal and information passed across is to the best of my knowledge. You should please do further research to guide you. I wish you all the best
Hello bro, i reached out to you via email and you gave me your number and i sent you a message but the mesasage has yet to deliver. pls bro reach out when you have some free time. cheers!!

Sincerely it’s good to do the right thing. But we know that such “right thing” may put one in big trouble especially or in case visa fails.
Two ways this can be done.
1. Meet with that person who will sign it and that person they may call. Privately ask them to keep it private that you just want to try and they should be aware just in case they call.

2. Do it yourself. I will tell you more privately if you want
okay bro. i just sent you a mail. pls respond when you can
