[quote author=happytbaby post=48340567]Question: do they accept letter of consent notarised by a notary public in El Paso or does it have to be the one from the embassy here in Nigeria?

Nope, it is not accepted. It has to be the one from the embassy here in Nigeria. Basically, as soon as baby is born, get hubby to book a date for notary and not visa interview. Then he can FedEx it to you. Should get to you a week, or there about. Hopefully, it gets to you about the time your bc comes out too, so you can further your documentation processing.

Thanks shimk. Will check out fidelity then. What percentage did the bank charge u for the transaction. I heard if u have an account with diamond, you are charged 1 percent of the amount you are buying, but if you do not have an account you are charged 6percent. So was wondering fidelity's rate.

Do you and your husband have separate accounts with fidelity, or just one of you. Wondering how you managed to change 8k. Also, did u both have to be present? Or you took your passports n it was sold to you.

Drafrican, please do not mock a pain u have not passed through. Last year June, I lost a 4days old baby due to medical negligence in on of the supposed best hospital. He was born healthy. He cried, he sucked and burped after. The only thing I noticed was that he kept spitting up a brownish liquid. I was told he swallowed meconium, and that he would spit it up by himself. He was not put in any nicu and no paediatrician came to see him till the third day despite all my complaint. I was discharged even though I kept complaining. The fourth day I went back because I didn't like the way the boy was behaving. I got there at 10am, his blood was taken and the result didn't come out till he died at to 6pm. Meanwhile they were suspecting sepsis so they were pumping him with antibiotics. When the result came out, his white blood cell count was ideal for an infant. No further investigation was carried out. Till now I don't know what killed him. It never crossed my mind to ever travel out to give birth before I lost a baby, but after losing a handsome little one, I have realized our health care system is shifty. I was going to sue, but you know how doctors cover each other. Eventually the doctor in charge wrote it off as sepsis. I saw the lab result, and I did a biological science course so I know he had absolutely no infection.
