You forget to mention Papua New Guinea aswell
Asylum kor at port of entry
Guess they have 1m to blow not to mention airfare

TravelRe: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by Slingshot: 6:37am On May 04, 2018
Like seriously?
In as much as it’s a risky scam
Having a biometric check on arrival
The biometric on the passport will not tally
Please don’t gamble with Australian immigration
I have heard all sought of huge agent fee
You might be lucky with America differently not Australia
Ugoerico:
Please House help,
My younger brother just got an Australia one year E-visitor visa and we are about to pay the agent an agreed amount of 1m. But we just discovered that the visa has Norway as the passport country (meaning that my brother is holding a Norway passport)..
All other details such as name and passport number is valid and the visa has been verified valid too.
My question is this? Wil they allow him pass at the POE when he presents a Nigerian passport while his visa stated that he has a Norway passport?
Remember that e-visitor visa was gotten without a biometric, it is when u enter that u are captured.

Now we have called the attention of the agent and he said yes they used a Norway contact to process the visa that it was worked in a way that my brother had gone to Norway. He also said lawyers there wil b at the Poe to ensure he passes...
Please advise..
Should he travel with it?
TravelRe: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by Slingshot:
Tourist visa can take up to 3 months
Another information you should consider
Hope you have a strong tie in Nigeria
Judging from the information you gave, they would expect you to apply for offshore partner visa while in Nigeria instead of tourist visa
Since Nigeria is a high risk country.
Chineylove:
Good morning everyone, nice job, I have learnt a lot from this thread. I’m a new member and will like to ask a question. I applied for tourist visa on Dec 11 2017 and stated that I will travel on March 10 with my new husband for honeymoon. That my leave from work will start from March 1st and end March 29th and am expected back to work on April 3rd, now as today my immiaccount is still showing further assessment and the leave period is almost over. I wrote to them and they replied that my application is still on the queue, hope when they finally pick it up, it will still be granted.
Will the expiration of leave affect it because I’m scared.
NB: my husband is already an Australian citizen and deliberately stayed in Nigeria from Dec till March because he wanted us to travel together. We had our trad on feb 10, which was all included in the letter he submitted to immi.
Phew!!! For a first timer, I really wrote o but please my good people come to my aid. Help me throw more light on this my case.

Application Status changed from "Application in Progress" to "Finalized" without a corresponding mail to my agent. School resumes Monday 26th. Someone should please explain what this mean? Is it a Grant or what? No document asked from the embassy throughout the application process.

Just go with cash
When you get the Oz open an account
Saves you all the hustle of exchange
ireayomide2015:
Hello my people, do you go with your cash to Australia or you deposit it on dollar account. Please what is pro and con of the two... Urgent please
TravelRe: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by Slingshot: 7:10pm On Feb 20, 2018
Case officer is in Pretoria where majority of Africa countries submit online “ Nigeria inclusive”
But the decision which is the final stage comes from Canberra where the Minister for Home Affairs Minister for Immigration and Border Protection is located
Egypt is way faster
But too bad Nigeria is limited to South Africa

Solitin40:
Abeg explain more on the finalize and issue but we send application to SA na
TravelRe: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by Slingshot: 6:03pm On Feb 20, 2018
Finalise in oz
Issue in Pretoria
Amy3090:
Does this grant come from OZ or Pretoria?
TravelRe: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by Slingshot:
Verifing SoA should be the simplest
Think your move is wise
A serious investigation needs to b done at the bank
Then you have a case
If no call or email was sent at any point
Then the case officer would have questions to answer
Cuz without the ban the visa was clear
I don't know you very well
I thank God you still love him so
Additionally, dont know the level of jurisdiction between nigeria and Australia if appealing is listed on the visa refusal its not cheap
While you go through the legal process trying to find out the anomalies in the verification of documents
I want to add this
The 3 year ban does not stop you from making a visa application, however, because of the ban you will need to show good reason why the ban should not be enforced.
There are specific criteria that can be used such as “reasons beyond your control”, “compelling and compassionate circumstances
Backing this up with all your findings at the bank
And also through you lawyer who enforced this investigation

Albion05:
Good day all,
I just received a Refusal Mail and 3 years ban from Australian Embassy.
I called them on Friday morning and was told my application will be finalized this week.

I callled them today to remind them of my start date. I was told it has been finalized and sent to migration officer for assent. The case officer that actually handled my application is Valdinah.
The Devil wants me to turn to evil and believe there is no God. There is God my dear.

Action taken already!..
-Called the Operational Bank manager of the Bank, he was expecting good news from me but hearing this he was shocked.
He told me that the Branch nor their head office in Lagos received any such mail from the embassy for confirmation from the bank and how come they reached conclusion of such.
The letter to my sponsor that I submitted was also cleared by their legal department in Lagos.
He has assured me of their support in any way the bank can help.

I spoke to a lawyer, we have agreed, he will write to the Embassy and copy the Bank as well, mandating the Embassy to carry out their personal investigation from the bank. Also that if the embassy did not want to give me visa that they should overturn the ban because at no point did my sponsor( Father ) submitted any bank statement that is not genuine.

Tomorrow, I will be heading to the lawyers office as today normallly is their Court proceedings for cases in court.
I will welcome any input and advice on the way forward.
Some persons that knows me outside this platform knows what i am saying. You may choose to believe or you may choose not to believe either.

My concern is that 3 years Ban, it will tarnish my record because of their inefficiency, laziness, carefree attitude and poor judgement to verify documents. My mum has been praying, prayer of death to any persons or officials involved in this unfair decision. I can't blame the old woman because she has been part of the process and seeing this one questions if truely God still exists, yes their is God, today, now and forever more.

I doubt these guys really verify documents from what has happened to me.
Thanks for all support and prayers!..

For those still waiting, be hopeful and believe in God.
People's faith and destiny are different!....
I will follow up with the lawyer and the Bank as regards to the letter they will be writing to the embassy.

bestdiddy:
Good morning my people

I trust we're all doing well.

Well, i've been pained and terribly heartbroken in recent days. Its really been tough since I got the disappointing news last week, But God has seen me through.

A few of you will probably know me from some of my comments and contributions made here. I just felt I should let you guys in on what has happened so far . . . it may be of help to someone.

Okay . . . I got admission to Deakin University (AL1) for a Masters in Business Analytics program to resume July 31, 2017.

I applied for the visa on June 15, 2017. Documents submitted are as follows:

1. Medicals submitted on June 22, 2017.
2. Academic documents including BSc certificate, WAEC, IELTS.
3. Resume
4. Employment letter dated Dec 15, 2011 evidencing my employment to one of the commercial banks in Nigeria.
5. Promotion letter.
6. Birth Certificate
7. Study Leave letter issued by my Bank
8. Registered Survey and Title documents of my land somewhere here in Lagos.
9. Salary Pay slips.
10. My Tax clearance letter showing my tax payments since I was employed.
11. Sworn Affidavit of sponsorship of my mom
12. My mom's school bank account statement, showing annual inflows of school fees payments.

My mom was my sponsor and she's the owner of a school here in Lagos. I provided incorporation documents, school fees receipts, notarised management account documents showing the revenue and expense profile of the school.

13. Title documents to a property owned by my mom which is rented out as well.
13. Rental receipts and account statement showing receipt of the rent annually.
14. Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) Statement.

If I can remember any other one, I will mention.

After the application on June 15th, the following occured.

July 15th . . . . No response yet from DIPB

August 15th . . . . No response. Sent an email and they replied saying the application was still under assessment.

At this point, I and my agent had to defer the admission. Deakin deferred the admission to November 6, 2017 and the new COE was uploaded on the IMMI portal.

September 15th . . . still no positive response. I sent an email and called to speak with the Case Officer. Case Officer said they were still carrying out internal checks.

October 15th . . . Still no response. Application still under assessment.

October 18th . . . I sent a mail informing the DIPB that I had been admitted to a University in the UK for an MBA program and I would appreciate a more detailed update on the application as I still prefer studying in the OZ.

October 20th . . . I got an email asking me to urgently provide a 3months updated employment letter and 3months updated salary payslips.

I immediately obtained the employment letter and payslips from the HR team in my Bank and uploaded same on October 22nd.

October 26th . . . I got an email asking me to provide my bank account statement. The statement was uploaded 4days later.

And Finally, on November 9, 2017 . . . I got a Student Visa Denied Decision Letter via mail. The reasons were stressed in the paragraphs below:

"while you have personal ties in Nigeria in the form of your immediate family, I find that these ties do not, of themselves, constitute a strong incentive to return home when considered against the fact that you are single and lacking strong employment or economic circumstances in Nigeria."

“I find that the course you are seeking to undertake seems inconsistent with your previous academics, but consistent with your employment background. However, as we cannot verify the existence of your employer and employment, I am unable to ascertain your position and cannot determine whether your intended studies will be of benefit to your future employment.

When I saw the above stated reasons, I was shocked and amazed. Tears rolled out of my eyes and I just couldn't comprehend what I was reading. I was at my desk in my office and didnt want to cause a scene, but people around me knew something was wrong. I cried and in my heart, I asked God . . . "but Oh Lord, you know I am employed. I am a full staff of a top commercial bank in Nigeria, and I never lied about my employment . . . neither did I fake any of my documents provided"

Immediately, my mind went to the verification part which made me contact my HR Team to confirm if they received a mail from DIPB and they didnt verify. HR said that they received a mail from the Internal Control of the Bank asking to confirm the authenticity of the updated employment letter which I uploaded on October 20th. They confirmed within 1hour to Internal Control.

I contacted Internal Control and Control said they received the mail from DIPB asking to verify the authenticity of the Updated Employment Letter and the Bank Account Statement. They received the mail by 12.45pm and verified and confirmed to DIPB by 4.30pm same day. I actually saw a copy of the mail . . . The words were . . . "Both the employment letter and account statement are hereby verified authentic and issued by us".

So what went wrong . . . where did I go wrong? . . . why was I denied on the basis of lack of verification of my employment and employer. My employer is a top bank with international presence that Google could easily confirm to them that this bank exists.

Internal Control subsequently sent them a mail attaching my denial letter stating that "our staff just informed us that he was denied on the grounds that he is not a GTE because his employment and employer could not be verified . . . But we confirmed his employment to you on Nov 3, 2017 in the attached mail".

DIPB responded that they acknowledge the mail and a processing officer will take this up, and advised that the applicant contacts his case officer.

I sent a mail subsequently to my case officer, highlighting the reasons and calmly pleaded that they review the decisison because when I got the letter, I had to take it up with my employers thinking they didnt verify my employment to DIPB, but I was informed that indeed my employers did.

I just got a response yesterday from DIPB stating that once a decision is taken, they cant revisit it. They added that they understand how frustrating it is, but they believe no error was made and they suggested that I can always re-apply if I choose to.

Reapplication however involves starting the entire process again because i would have to obtain another COE for a semester next year. Since school fees will increase, Deakin stated I have to provide another Bank account statement and that means the N13million in my account has to sit untouched in the account.

I really cannot go through that pain and stress again because of some other things I cant reveal here.

. . . And there goes my efforts to do my masters in Australia. Funny enough and in all honesty, I actually intended to use the qualifications to get a promotion in my bank but majorly to improve my chances of joining the likes of Mckinsey & Company or Bain & Company. Top consulting firms that recently entered the Nigerian business space. Its always been my dream to consult in such companies and why I will always come back is because I'm an Igbo man and I dabble into a lot of side businesses which I always enjoy doing. So even though there are better opportunities in OZ, I would always come back after my studies to strike deals or set up cross border trades between Nigeria and Oz.

Who am I even trying to convince here sef . . .

Anyways, its happened, I gave it my best shot, I suffered, I toiled and I spent a lot of money, but all I can say is that

. . . the race is not to the swift . . . time and chance happeneth to all men.

Thanks a lot my people, you guys have been awesome and I pray you hopefuls never experience what I went through last week. All the best.

Australia that I no is a develeped country as they claim, why can't dey deploy their technological advancement to know who really the genuine ones are, they claim to have the best technology and they can't handle over 1000 people's application, to me they are so lazy, technology bridges the gap of time wasting, so they should not give us the impression they have a lot of applications to treat. This is while I love working with the Indians in terms of on time task delivery, no one is doing check and balances for this CO'S, they are cabals on their own, so that excuse of lots of applications to treat is not genuine to me. Abegii jor. If there was a check and balance, there won't be all this delay of up to 6months or more. If they really know what they are doing and they develop the necessary new technology to go about it, they will be able to deliver within the stipulated time frame. I want cogent excuses and not bleep ones. I am putting myself in their shoes because I know what it takes to treat an issue within a stipulated time. Don't let this embassy people confuse you, they are simply not doing their job well enough.

You have the greatest proof in the world ones they put it your passport number stating you've been in Australia everything go just show " na only strict countries dey do am ooo" make e no bother you
Plus ur layover at Abu Dhabi was stamped right?
Aussie make brain

debby516:
Apologies for the long story.

I was in Sydney for 12 days. Travelled with Etihad thru Abu Dhabi, short layover 2 hrs, unlike my hubby who went thru South African Airways (dats an Israelite journey). 8hrs to Abu Dhabi, plane was packed full, then from Abu dhabi to Sydney, also full but bigger plane, Airbus (double decker 'lol').

Arrived Sydney at about 6.30pm, immigration was swift, they didnt stamp my passport , that one pained me cos there is no evidence in my passport that i ever stepped Australia bayii, especially with this their emailed visa, mcteeeeeeew.

I changed some money in the airport and picked my box, went thru Agric cos i had garri, beans, dry pepper, crayfish egusi nd maggi grin, dont mind me, i am a yoruba woman and likes my naija food. Got to agric and the officer just asked that i bring out the food i declared in my landing card, i showed and said it was okay, didnt even scan my bag, thats how i escaped 'Quarantine'.

Next, i planned to use uber to the apartment i got at North Sydney, dats how airport wifi refused to connect. Now confused cos regular tai will collect up to AU$70 but i had seen an estimate of AU$40 on uber b4 i left lag, ut culdnt connect to uber on my phone. I walked up to an airport help desk and explained that i needed help to get to North sydney, i was given a map and explained that i culd use the train. I immediately bought the train card - Opal in the airport, loaded it with AU$50, using my GTB Card and that how i got train to the Norh sydney station at AU$16 grin. I then took a taxi from the train station to the apartment with AU$8, because it was late, ordinarily i culd ve strolled down.

The train is very cheap and convenient, I only used uber once cos i was been lazy to walk to teh train station, there were 2 train stations closeby, Milsons point and North sydney.

To the food, i didnt see "Ata rodo" yoruba red pepper in teh stores i went - ALDI, Coles and woolwoths (theses are the grocery stores around) unlike in the US butthey have different types of tomatoes, that one even confused me and they have big 'tatashe' pepper. (Non-yoruba, pls google the english translation, sorry). Didnt find vegetable too. The food is another story but thank God i am back home, "i cant come and kill myself" lol.

Sydney is a very beautiful city, saw the Harbour bridge, as in pass thru, over it thru train and uber and under thru a ferry but i didnt climb it (where do i even have that kind strength plus money again), Opera house, Luna park, Darling Harbour......... Oh my Draling Hrabour, love this place, i was there almost every day, conference for a week was at the International Convention Centre Sydney, massive structure, over 6000 lawyers was at the conference and you will not notice any unusual traffic or influx of people, the multiple entrance/access, thru the ferry, train, walking etc, those people are too much in terms of infrastructures.

I was at the wild life par, Aquarium and Madam Tussaud museum. The restaurant by Darling Harbour was also places i longed for everyday lunch.

If you dont like walking, you may not enjoy sydney because of the transportation, walking from the train station to your destination, for me, was always like 5 mins walk, except you want to be taking taxi and uber everywhere.

for 2 weeks, i used AU$70 on train transportation, still had like AU$10 left on the card. Used my GTB and Access bank cards with different rates sha, GTB was cheaper at N291 to 1 AUD.

Now to expenses, apart from groceries, i think things are pretty expensive in Australia, haba, no wristwatch or bag sef within range. I had to buy my chocolates in Abu Dhabi airport duty-free shops. I couldnot shop o cos i was busy converting everything to naira and my ijebu mind wont allow me.

Ticket - 1.2mil -Etihad. I bought this in June, b4 i travelled in October.
Airbnb apartment for 12 nights - USD1500. Paid b4 arrival, so i used my US dollar card to pay
Transportation and groceries for 2 weeks - AUD 200
Average lunch for 2 at the Darling Harbour restaurant - AUD 100

If i missed anything, pls ask. So I went and conquered grin

Thanks to Davody, i know u thot my wahala was too much b4 i travelled with my plenty questions, e mabinu wink

One more thing, they didnt stamp my passport upon exit again oooo, still paining.

You could be waiting 21months from the date of lodgement if its a 801
And then for 309 you could be in a wait of 17 months
