TWoods: It’s october... you have no idea how to register for the SAT, you have no idea what school you will be applying to (or even the country!), their requirements and whether the school is worth your effort with respect to your long term goals (if you have any). You don’t know the structure of the exam neither are you prepared for it. You have no idea how much schoool will cost you, neither have you planned for contingency. All you know is that you want to be in the states by December (2 months away).
Yours is the most unserious post I’ve seen in the last week or two. Responding to you any further is a waste of time. He who fails to plan is simply planning for his own sure failure. this is why I am asking for guides and answers ? It could just be a want of mine having things ready by December, but you guys can make me understand it is impossible if it is . I was just humbly asking , no need to get hyped over that . |

bigfrancis21: You see eh, any school you find that waives SAT for undergraduate admissions, after you arrive school you often are required to take their own English and Math placement tests and most times you would spend the first semester taking English as a Second Language classes and/or math development classes, due to no SAT scores, before actually starting your college-level courses the following semester, which means that you end up paying more in school fees and spending an extra semester in school (instead of 8 semesters it becomes 9 semesters). At the end of the day the school gains because you pay more than necessary to them in school fees and you lose because you saved ordinary N30,000 or less SAT registration fee to pay over N300,000 to N500,000 or more in your first semester taking English classes that you probably know too well, due to what? I like to call that laziness to prepare and take an exam as simple as the SAT.
At the end of the day, all universities require SAT/ACT etc. for undergraduate admissions purposes and if the exam is not compulsory for admission, they still need it to waive the placement tests after you arrive, thus it is still best that you take the SAT or ACT and ace it so that the placement tests/ESL classes are waived and you go on straight to your university-level courses as soon as school starts, or else it is simply a case of penny wise, pound finish. thanks a lot for this broad explanation brother . Please do you have any idea where I can go apply for this exam and when I will take it? What are the things to expect from this SAT and TOEFL? Is it just a strictly English exam? I actually am targeting and hoping to start everything now and getting to the states by December or January if everything goes well . I have an idea of studying in either Australia or The US. Please which would you advice for a first time traveler ? And which would be less expensive? Can a budget of 3 to 4 million naira accomplish this for atleast a year? That's successfully pay for visa and everything involved and a year or two school fees ? Also does Australia require TOEFL and or SAT? Thanks a lot . I have no idea about any of this hence my much awkward weird questions bro |

skido04: Hello gurus, please I have a question. I have written the Toefl and preparing for the gre. but right now, that's all I'm doing. but I feel like I might be missing something. is there any other documentation I should be doing right now? I don't like being in a rush and racing against time which this might cause in the future. also. if I can get a personal mentor who I can ask simple questions directly. I'll appreciate. how did you apply for the TOEFL bro? How long did you wait before writing it? And where did you write ? Hw much totally was spent? Thanks bro , I'll appreciate |

Chidinho10: Some schools waive those exams for Nigerians but most of them won't fund you. If you're looking for funding, GRE and TOEFL IS A MUST!!
SAT is for undergraduate programs thanks a lot . Also is SAT waived ? Or a must write? GRE and TOEFL are two different exams one must write? Does it also apply for undergraduate programs? |

gnykelly: don't worry. you are in safe hands received my passport bro . Thanks a lot for the help and guide . Advice to those going to apply, if you apply and relax waiting on them to call you , you are just waisting time and they might even take a month to call because those greedy folks are busy attending to those that sort them and constantly are there to worry them .. also if you go for express , don't just go and relax hoping for them to do anything, constantly visit and worry them . If you go for express you can collect it same day or next , depending on the network there. Attached below are the prices for the passport which doesn't even seem to work any longer . Just ready 30 to 35k for an express treatment.

Chidinho10: They do but you need TOEFL for funding via Teaching Assistantships Please don't make the mistake of writing IELTS for US admission. Just that I dont have time. I for show you more schools wey dey reject IELTS. God bless! i don't understand this ? Can one gain admission to the US without toefl , Gre? Is it waived for Nigerians? Why are others going for this here? Also is SAT same as these exams? Thanks |

obiagbaoso: Babe no worries...you jst have to decide on what you want..if you want schools without Gre or Gmat...it's you decision. You can still get funding when you do well at school..if you don't have enof now but still want to study abroad..then go for schools without these exams GRE GMAT IELTS. it's economical that way..then save up or study hard in your first year to get a high GPA to qualify for funding...Am sure if one could get a high gpa in Nigeria the person can do even bettet abroad. with or without these exams you can get visa and admission.
PM me if you are still interested can I contact you please brother? Pm wouldn't work because I don't have access to that mail . If there is anyway I can contact you through I'd be glad , This is my email zotobarr@gmail.com |

Good morning folks , Do forgive my asking like a novice , as I have no idea, and asking questions for help and guide is never a bad thing .. Please I have an interest, not just an interest but I am fully ready to go for a second degree in the U.S. I studied sociology and I am done with my final exams , just waiting for my results .the school has been on a certain stupid strike for over a year and half now , I don't even care anymore about them releasing my result or not as I want to go for another degree in the U.S . I am 24, and would be 25 mid next year and my question is , what requirements would I need to embark on this journey , would someone with a budget of 4 to 5 million naira here be able to execute this project? Can I still go for a degree with my age? And what do I need doing from now as I intend to be done with every requirements and ready to move by early next year (MAX).. ? I am also open to Canada and Australia, whichever would be better and cheaper. |
