charleymed: It's a thing of choice bro, not everyone wants to leave Nigeria, so don't speak for everybody cos some people really don't bye the idea. To your question, i think it does'nt require just HARDWORK but knowing the possible ways to getting an interview for a residency spot, and if you read lomaxx's previous posts on this, by now you should have a first hand knowledge of what is required of you. Beleive me, your step scores is very important but it alone WON'T get you into residency. So i advice you do more researchs on it and decide if you really want to give it a shot, mind you the procedures are quite cumbersome but it all depends on your willingness.#peace
thanks bro,i aprec8

Hey guys, wev been talking abt d rigor of combining USMLE jacking with d much cumbersome medical curriculum here in d country.pls lets discuss on d modalities,hw do we go abt it?,wat tins shud we do?hw posibu is it? Etc. Lets leave d era of 'wanting to do',and begin to'plan to do'.lets join hands and see hw it cn work out,GOD bless us al,thanks
Education / Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by slord(m): 7:15pm On Dec 01, 2013
lomaxx:

I have seen residents who wrote the steps while doing residency here. Even some of your consultants, at some point in their career wished they moved out when they were quite primordial in the profession.

Everybody has his/her own reason of wanting to do residency outside. For me, I'm not planning to migrate. My area of focus is still very infantile in Nigeria that local training is considered substandard.

And it may not work out as planned. There's always that possibility. So it's advisable to have plan B. For me, there's plan B and C and D and even E.

MBBS cannot waste.

lol! Dr lomaxx, wat field is dat o
