Oga shut up! That's why you remain poor. There's a reason why companies have brand ambassadors. Peak or UAC can't be paying someone else and be cashing out on another person's popularity. It takes years of hard work to build a brand and they would do the same if any corporate infringes on their trademark. Know this and you may grow. Spaxon: 4 Likes |

Besides the Defense HQ in Abuja, the Nigerian Army has 7 Divisional HQs, each headed by a General Officer Commanding (GOC). Several formations also have HQs in different locations including six brigade in Taraba. Don't always be in a hurry to display ignorance. Parachoko: 1 Like |

Esseite:Perhaps if you keyed into it, non-oil revenue could be 4.0001% New Rice Mills are being set up but fewer people are going into rice farming. The reason for the initial failure of Dangote Tomoto factory was that there wasn't enough locally farmed tomato to feed the 1200 tons per day processing plant. It is PEOPLE that make a country great, not Government. |
Business / Re: CBN, Banks To Disburse N200bn Single-digit Loans To Creative Industry, Others by sly3(m): 7:49pm On Apr 05, 2019 |
Nicklaus619: Nah.. A realist knows better than to make dumb assumptions. Single digit can range from 1-9% which is by far better off to the commercial rate which is generally above 20% for MSMEs. This is called progress and anyone who fails to see that definitely has more problems than he/she is aware of. Tremendous success has been recorded from similar intervention schemes like Anchor Borrowers Program, RSSF and co. The major challenge is that most of these funds are undersubscribed as most Nigerian youth are either too lazy to try or lack adequate knowledge on how to access these funds. My little advise, instead of cooking up conspiracy theories, start working on business plans, feasibility studies, business proposals, make enquiries on how to access such funds and don't be casual about it. Ever wondered why the rich keep getting richer, it's because they know where the money is and they know how to get it. Enough of playing the victim, you can't achieve success by simply blaming successful people. One more thing, work on your grammer! |

anyimontana:According to him, the committee revisited the entitle value chain of music, movies, information technology and fashion, right from production facilities to capacity building, to ensure that whatever is produced is world-class. Be positive! We're making progress. BTW remind me how many people Dangote employs again! The man is the largest "individual" contributor to Nigeria's GDP and I don't see anything wrong with Govt supporting him. My take. 2 Likes |

grandstar:Nigerian banks currently cannot survive at single digit that's why they have to pool funds from their profit to make single digit loans available. T-Bills trade at 13.5%, the Bank cannot lend to you at a lower rate than they lend to Govt. Thay have to statutorily meet up with Liquidity Ratio and Cash Reserve Ratio limiting the volume of deposits they can trade with. Inflation rate is at double digits. Too many factors contribute. You think you're the only one with challenges, think again. Banks have their challenges too 2 Likes 1 Share |

Education / Re: Poor Condition Of Hostels Of University Of Nigeria, UNN, Enugu Campus (Graphic) by sly3(m): 2:20am On Apr 05, 2019 |
Nna ehn! Gaskiya, eleyi le My quick take. The main problem here is not the inability of the Schools' Management to provide and maintain hostel facilities. We all know Nigerian public institutions are overpopulated. Overcrowded lecture halls, 8 people to a room, 2-3 rooms to a toilet in some hostels, and so on. I think the major problem is that of a youth demography that cannot take responsibility for herself. In the institution I attended, each hostel had an elected Hostel Rep who had a free room to himself amongst other perks where others paid to own 1/8 of a room. Bros, wetin you dey do? If the cleaners don't do their job, make them or better still if the terms of their employment makes it impossible for them to function properly, draw up a roster or get people to contribute and hire private cleaners but most importantly there should be consequences for such inhumane behavior. Sadly though, 4-5 years in such an environment can make people unlearn the simple art of knowing how to sh*t. I remember during my NYSC camp, after 3 days off living in hell, my hostel came together and agreed to contribute #100 each for toilet maintenance since the cleaners were in incognito mode. I decided to take the job on the condition that the toilets would be washed once daily and any one caught messing it up would be forced to wash all of the toilets (resistance would mean a one on one with the Camp Commandant). After a couple of days with a couple of scape goats, we got used to being human again. My point, there are lots of students in these institutions who can barely feed themselves. The Hostel Reps can get approval to levy members for toilet maintenance (this can be done in collaboration with the SUG), get volunteers from members to take responsibility in exchange for a reasonable token and enforce reasonable sanctions to ensure compliance. We need to take responsibility and stop blaming the Government for everything. We are the Government! |

Education / Re: What Can I Do With Industrial Mathematics Degree In Nigeria by sly3(m): 12:34am On Feb 27, 2019 |
I'll start by giving you an advice someone gave me earlier during my undergraduates. For a course like Industrial Mathematics in a country like Nigeria, you need to stand out to be relevant else you'll end up in the classroom which may not necessarily be a bad thing. The demand for quality Mathematics teachers in Nigeria is crazy. I remember reading posts on Nairaland and some other blogs looking for answers just like you're doing now and the most common phrase was that as a Mathematician you can work anywhere but it is that mindset of sitting on the fence that has left a lot of us jobless. As a Mathematician, you have career opportunities in Finance, IT, Education, Business,... but you have to be deliberate! Know exactly what you want and build yourself to stand out. You also need good grades. I am currently a banker, the MD of my bank is a Mathematician, the Group Head, IT is a Mathematician, My bank recently won awards like “Nigeria’s Most Innovative Retail Bank of the year, 2018”, "Africa's Most Innovative Bank of the Year, 2018" Guess the name of my bank! 1 Like |

What of the other 5%? don't you think it's wrong to discourage people from trying especially in these hard times? Guys! if there's only a 0.01% chance that you'll be taken, GO FOR IT. study, prepare, work on your confidence especially for the interview and if in the end you don't get it, evaluate yourself and find what needs to be improved and next time you'll do better. Don't be seduced by losers, you can do so much better. yns4real: 1 Like |
