What If We Get Things Right In Anambra State? Visions For 2010 Under Next Administrations.

I asked members of our National Future Councils, Economic Advisers, Clergymen, Traditional rulers, Doctors, People in Diaspora, Academics, Business Leaders, members of civil society, and the Poor Masses - to imagine a better Anambra in 2010. To me In other to employ projective techniques we need to know that it's only by thinking about where we want to be tomorrow can we prompt the action we need today. The election has come and gone let's move on maka na osita di mama na odibara gbooo.

On a more special occasion I want to call upon Chief Willie Obiano the Governor-elect Prof Chukwuma Soludo CFR, Senator Emmanuel Andy Uba, Valentine C Ozigbo, Senator Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, Sen Uche Lilian Ekwunife, Sen Stella Oduah Ogiemwonyi, Senator Chris Ngige, Mr. Peter Obi, Dr. Godwin Maduka, Sen Sir Victor Umeh OFR, Hon Benjamin C Obidigwe, and many other illustrious sons and daughters of Anambra State to rally around the elected governor whether wrongly elected or legally in other to help him move our dearest state to envious greater heights and also to remember that the world has an opportunity to dramatically reduce some of the most egregious forms of violence over the next decade. To do this, we will need the same kind of energy and dedication that was mobilized to reduce robbery and kidnapping in Anambra state. That's cutting violent crime in half.

We aren’t going to be able to turn back the clock to a world with no platforms. But by looking to strategies that involve transparency, accountability, worker power, and democratic ownership, we have in front of us the tools to move towards a less exploitative and more just platform economy. The platform economy in 2010 could be one in which consumers know more about their impacts, regulators are enforcing minimum standards, workers are exercising their collective power, and we have all found ways of building, supporting, and using democratically run and accountable platforms.

I was one of those who were aggrieved about the underperformance of the current governor in various sectors which makes Anambra state seems to be stagnated and we wanted to unseat the ruling party legally but unfortunately, God anchored mercy on the ruling party and they won miraculously.

With all my heart longing for peace and sustainable development in Anambra state, I want to beg Sen Andy Uba and Dr. Godwin Maduka to please forget yesterday so we can collectively act on today to enable us to get a hold of tomorrow. Yeah, it's hard to let go... Let go of your heart's desires, yet a time comes when reality catches up... It's time to move on, It's time to grow up... Time to fulfill that purpose which destiny called us for to work collaboratively to create a better Anambra state we all wanted to witness.

Yes, even if you faithfully follow the political news, you may conclude, as I did, that “it’s even worse than you think.” It’s profoundly disturbing to read, chapter after chapter, the evidence of the damage Gov Obiano and his political termites has already done to our State. let's range far afield, detailing the devastation at State Education, Electricity, Roads, Security, and other critical agencies.

Even if Gov Obiano is forced out of office before his term is up, or Sen Andy Uba wins control of both state house of Assembly by winning Nov 6th election and with presidential support, cleaning up the mess may take years.

It's too late for Prof Soludo/APGA because Gov Obiano's underperformance emboldened APC. For almost 8 years what Gov Obiano can boost for are Incomplete Airport projects, incomplete International Conference Center, and community chooses your projects. It's now addicted to ndi APGA to be ruling Anambra state without LG Election, it's hard to believe that our roads are in bad conditions, places like Ayamelum LG does not have General Hospital or Accessible road, erosion has rendered so many families homeless.

Hearsay Is Barred As Evidence!!!

The battle line is now clearly drawn. It is a battle for the soul of Anambra State. And the major political parties are putting themselves up as saviors of the state. APGA political supporters are known to be die-hard fanatics, who only see the good in their leaders and are ready to “violently” defend anything negative said about them. We are witnesses to the aftermath of unguided statements by some of their media aides against APC and her candidate. It's evidently true that all the political parties are the same but what makes them different is their various candidates' political capacity. It's now certain that some candidates and their political parties are not desirable and electable that's why their major supporters are defecting to APC.

Senator Emmanuel Andy Uba is currently winning the supports of Ndi Anambra because the masses are now seeing the physical truth about who he is and what he can offer. Over the years desperate politicians have tried all they could to use blackmail and propaganda to tarnish his political image but due to his uprightness, goodwill for the people, and his unannounced philanthropic activities in the lives of many politicians, businessmen, and students, he is now vindicated. He never sold any property belonging to the state or whatever propaganda oppositions are selling to the people.

Let me appeal to the politicians to calm down. And to the supporters, they should realize that Anambra state is bigger than an individual, group of individuals, or a political party.

Success Doesn't happen overnight...

Around 2003 when APGA was founded by Chekwas Okorie as a political party in Nigeria. The leading party in Anambra State then was PDP and APGA was still a virgin party around that time, till Mr. Peter Obi got himself involved in Anambra politics under the platform of APGA. Mr. Peter Obi being economically, financially, and educational sound nurtured the party APGA and assisted the party to win a Gubernatorial election in Anambra state which is unbelievable. Mr. Peter Obi as APGA Governor made the party rise from grass to grace by delivering good governance to the people. So now what has happened to this same political party APGA we previously described as the best which is now a terrible political party in Igboland? Bad Candidate not party Right?. Don't mind the praise singers APGA is doomed and their problems are self-inflicted.

In an essence, a political party has less to contribute whether good or bad to a state government where the Governor is poisoned to succeed by achieving great things for the interest of the people. As it stands some people are talking bad about Sen. Andy not because he's a bad man or inexperienced to govern Anambra state but simply for the fact that he's a member of APC which practically doesn't make him different from others who are in APGA, PDP, and rest of them. We should recall that he (Andy Ubah) won the 2007 election but based on his love for equity and rule of law he stepped down for APGA and Mr. Peter Obi to complete their tenure. If you want to criticize someone be constructive and don't base your criticism on hearsay...

Life is ten percent what happens to us, but 90 percent how we choose to handle it. Let's start today by choosing to see the good rather than the bad. We can overwrite our past with new experiences and form better memories to recall in the future. Even the most positive of people have self-doubt. That is normal. I’m just suggesting for us to find a way to release the pain and come back to a place of positive.
