If you've been reading and following this thread very well you know that someone was arguing why a candidate who scored 80% was not shortlisted. That info explains it better.

Helpful Information:

Shortlisting will continue until the final physical fitness test or until the target shortlist is met for each State. Where necessary, we will start another round of testing for States that are not meeting their target.
The impact of the selection process is that candidates that scored high (70% and above) may think that they should have been shortlisted. They may not have been because someone else in their State that applied for the same job scored higher. This was addressed by the additional shortlisting of the high scorers.
A candidate with a lower score from another state may have been shortlisted for the same job because that candidate is the highest scorer for that job from his/her State of origin. This is in line with the application of the Federal Character rules.
A candidate with a Master’s degree applying for Security Cadet, Assistant Fire Superintendent, or Assistant Security Superintendent is considered over-qualified and may not have been selected.

The All Progressives Congress has decried the reported allegations of last-minute looting of the nation’s resources, hurried recruitment into the public service and rushed privatisation of key financial institutions by the Goodluck Jonathan administration.

It warned on Sunday that such “egregious actions” would have serious repercussions.

In a statement in Lagos by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party said apart from the instances of such cases that had been reported by the local media, it had been inundated with calls and messages by concerned Nigerians, alerting it to the unscrupulous actions of some Jonathan’s administration officials.



APC said while the Jonathan administration remains in office till midnight of May 28, and governance in the country would not stop because a new President had been elected, it was incumbent upon the outgoing administration not to create more problems for the incoming government, or to “tie the new government’s hands” through suspicious actions.

The party explained that while it is true that the incoming Muhammadu Buhari administration would not get itself bogged down by an endless probe of the activities of the Jonathan administration, all actions taken since the result of the March 28 presidential election was announced, might come under the searchlight.


It added, ”For example, the National Council on Privatisation, which is headed by the Vice President, has just approved the financial bid opening for transaction advisers for the privatisation of the three Development
Finance Institutions in the country – the Bank of Agriculture, Bank of Industry and Nigeria Commodity Exchange.

“The question is: What is the rationale for rushing this exercise with just weeks left for this administration?

”Also, there have been reports, yet to be refuted, of a planned, hurried recruitment into the Nigeria Immigration Service, after a previous attempt ended in a national tragedy and the fleecing of innocent job seekers by the mindless Federal Government officials. Apart from the fact that this last-minute recruitment is suspect, it is irregular.

”The Civil Defence, Fire, Immigration and Prisons Services Board is only empowered to recruit, promote and discipline only senior officers (Levels 8 and above). The power to recruit, promote and discipline junior officers is vested in the different services, in this case, the Nigeria Immigration Service.

”Therefore, the recruitment exercise now being conducted by the Federal Civil Service, under the auspices of the Presidential Committee to Assist on Immigration Recruitment, usurps the functions of the Board as it relates to recruitment of Senior Officers (Level 08) and that of the Immigration Service as it relates to Junior Officers (levels 07 and below).”

It also called attention to a published report that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Senator Bala Mohammed, plans to use the Federal Capital Development Authority to carry out a secret employment of no fewer than 500 workers before the end of April 2015.

It stated, ”We do not know if this report, as well as others, is true. But if indeed these rushed privatisations and hurried recruitment exercises – in the twilight of the Jonathan administration – are true, they raise
serious questions concerning the reasons behind such actions. We are therefore compelled to call on President Jonathan to caution his administration officials, lest they engage in actions that can later embarrass his administration”

DANGERS OF WORRY!
(1) It kills faith. When you allow worry, you are burring your faith alive.

(4) It weakens prayer life. Worry weakens prayer life, it shows you that prayer can't solve the matter on ground; it tells you God is not or will not help. The major assignment of worry is to weak prayer life; when you allow worry to linger in your heart, your prayer life will be lost.
(5) It leads to sinful alternative. When worry is almost through with its assignment in a Christian's life, there will begin suggestions of sinful alternatives; since your faith is weak, your prayer life is down, the next thing is to think of sinful alternative. That is how many Christians backslide.

(6) It destabilizes health, relationship, and zeal for God's work.

(7) It is from Satan. Do you ever wonder where worry originates from? Well, it is not from Jesus, because Jesus warns us never to worry; worry is a spirit from Satan to steal your hope in Christ, to kill your faith and to destroy your life. Please, do not allow him.

If you are a child of God, worrying is like shooting yourself in the foot, because it only brings harms and no good.

SOLUTIONS FOR WORRY
Worry is not something that you have to invite before it comes, it will always come uninvited, because it is an emotional intruder; it will always come no matter your spiritual level and strength. But there are ways to block worry, that it will never have a chance in your life again.

From Matthew 6:25-34, we can find these solutions:

Rest On God And Resist The Devil
When things are running down, when time is running out, and when people are running here and there, you just rest on God, because God is right there with you. Never entertain devil's suggestion of worry, but resist the devil and he will flee from you.

Pray About Everything

Best Alternative
Sometimes, worrying may seems unavoidable, but there is a better alternative for worry in every situation, no matter how tough: instead of worrying, rather watch out for the wonders of God coming on your way. Walk by faith through the Word of God, busy yourself in the work of God and wait for the best.

Make Heaven Your Priority
When you make heaven your first priority, whatever happens or does not happen in this life will not lead you to sin against God; when the kingdom of God is your priority, situation of this life will not weigh you down from doing God's work. You have read about saints of old who kept serving and working for God despite difficulties? It was possible for them because they made heaven their primary focus.

But what about those of us who went with statement of result (BSC) instead of certificate? Although we were cleared to partake in the interview.

As long as they've cleared us, it's my believe that we are good to go. If it was not acceptable they would have told us immediately.

Or they might be updating the website on their progress.

At Enugu center, Accreditation and Interview were done according to those ready. If any group is with the Interview panel, another group will be with the accreditation panel. Later after your interview and accreditation, you will now go for the one you are yet to do.
I did interview before accreditation on the 18th at Enugu. While some persons was withthe accreditation team by then.
I did my PFT on the 17th and very early on the 18th, I went for interview even without sms for interview. It was after I finished my accreditation and interview that I heared they asked some persons to leave the academy.

That's very correct. Some people were asked to leave on the 18th and on the 19th. Some many people with fake sms were sent parking after all their time and expenses. I really felt for them.

I did CBT, PFT, Interview and Accreditation at Udi, Enugu State.
I was about the last people that did PFT on the 18th and Interview followed by Accrediation on the 19th.
They even check for the text message sent to us before we were allowed to partake. Some messages were fake so they checked to be sure of the authenticity of the text message.

A question from a friend........What is the faith of an applicant who did the cbt (passed), pft (passed), and interview (Passed). But in the course of the final stage (accreditation), she was told that the text (call-up sms for pft and interview) she received from FAAN was CLONED!. Thus, she was bursted out of the academy!.............IS THERE HOPE FOR HER?

There's no hope for her if her name is not on the list. She just wasted her time. Before collecting your credentials they will check if you are on the system using your USERNAME.

My Logical view point: All things being equal, from Tuesday 14th April 2015, appointment letters ought to be served to successful candidates. And resumption might be slated for 4th of May.
Reasons : election would end by 11th of April, and election result would be announced by latest 13th.
Candidates might be given two weeks (which would elapse by Monday May 4th) to make arrangements for where they would be staying ahead of resumption at there new duty post (which may be outside there state of domicile).
Any contrasting opinion is welcome..........

It's my believe that the Fire and Security Officers will have to report for training since we don't have any experience on how things are done at the airports.
So after few weeks of training we might be given some days off to go and arrange ourselves and resume work immediately at which ever state we will be posted to. (Unconfirmed)

If I can recall vividly, FAAN said the pass mark is 50% but they never said if you score 50% you will be short-listed. Probably they got the number they wanted and screened those that scored lesser out.
I'm not certain but I'm only guessing that's what FAAN did.

First let me correct an impression. I'm not crying fowl cos it didn't favour me. I am only saying that this exercise is anything but excellent as u have put it. I bear no grudges or ill feelings against those who made it. I'd just like us to be more objective and admit that while they achieved a form of success in d exercise, it was far from being excellent.

This recruitment exercise is no rocket science. Organizations such as NLNG, NNPC, and several banks or multinational coys witness hundreds of thousands of applications every time they advertise yet they conduct their screenings in transparent ways(at least in d public purview). Competence is what they look at, not quota.

If it'd make any difference, I passed d test and was invited for the pft. I know I didn't do well at that stage cos I wasn't fully fit. But that will not make me say it was entirely fair. My point is dat a recruitment exercise that is based on federal character system cannot be entirely fair. But then again what do I know?

I believe that the quota issue comes straight from the National assembly. And I'm very okay with it because each state will be evenly represented when they see that you have passed the whole processes.
My own state we were just 4 that was short-listed for the particularly job and I'm happy I made it.
This thing is not a private company's job so they are doing well for using the quota system.
I wish everyone that got to the interview stage success as you wait for your appointment letters.

FAAN has really done well in this recruitment exercise. Before anyone complains let the person go to FAAN website and see the criteria for you to be qualified and how things are being done to employ people.

As for me, it is a welcome development by FG.
Not everyone will be okay with the process because it's not everyone that the thing will favour or has favoured.
Instead of blaming FAAN when you did not succeed, try another place and pray you succeed.

I did my PFT on the 18th and my interview on the 19th at the Enugu center. I arrived there on the 18th and joined the last batch for the PFT around 12noon.
