Diligence:
It's so stupid to ask for evidence from a corrupt Inec & APC that saw the trend & turned off iRev.

It's so stupid to ask for evidence, dear Rufai!
You are funny. So without evidence what exactly makes you entitled to call yourself the winner over an Atiku who scored more votes?
Politics › Re: Do Not Say Things If You Do Not Have Evidence — Rufai Oseni Blasts Obi by SmartyPants(m): 10:47am On Oct 08
Nonsense. When we said this exact thing in 2023 but the same Rufai and the rest of them shouted us down, he didn't know, then, that evidence matters? Rufai should know that his days of being seen as a reasonable journalist are long gone. We know he is part of Obi's PR mechanism and there's nothing wrong with that. What we won't have is him pretending to be a neutral analyst.

It's not just about taking sugar. If you live an active lifestyle sugar won't affect you as much as it will affect those who live a sedentary lifestyle. For instance, an athlete will have a higher sugar tolerance because they burn the sugar almost immediately. So you may simply be very active.

zoghys:
Plain stupidity. You took someone's life because you assume she infected you with HIV, which probably might be the other way round. Now the loser will still have the HIV with little or no medical care and sit on death row in the correctional facility.
It is clearly stated that the argument ensued because the girl accused him of infecting her with HIV.

It is always we will, we will all the time.

Zero implementation.

Empty promises since time in memorial.
That's not entirely true. He listed several "we haves". For instance, his central claim is that his government has done two things:

A. Undone the structural economic malaise.
B. Recovered from the harsh side effects of the recovery effort.
Politics › Re: El-rufai Thought His Detention Would Set The North On Fire — BKO by SmartyPants(m): 11:41am On Oct 01
Dogalmighty17:
People give El-Rufai a larger standing than he actually possesses. The north is not a unified bloc and even if it was, most northerners have not forgotten nor forgiven El-Rufai's role in making Tinubu president.
That is the real issue here. But moreover, power in the north appears to be more cultural and religious than political. So once the incumbent has been accepted by the powers that may be, the predecessor loses relevance.

Chelle out

They were just ball watching...is that the fault of the pitch too

O fe pa Nwabobo
I won't say Chelle out, but this one is completely on him. I can't understand leaving a completely useless Akor on the pitch till that time. I don't even know why Nwabali still starts when Okonkwo is almost certainly a much better player than him. Half of his favourites won't start in a serious team.

Eric Chelle is not helping himself. Lookman and Akor Adams are complete minuses especially Adams. Complete minus and he's been one since the Morocco game. Yank them off the pitch and give yourself a better chance.

nairalanda1:
Kenya has never had a subsidy on fuel. Fuel prices have always been high there.

Infact, most African countries have had high fuel price for decades since independence. Dangote refinery may even cause a slight reduction in price self, because Kenya imports fuel from the Middle east.
You are assuming that person understands the dynamics of fuel price vis a vis subsidy, to understand that removal of the subsidy was why the fuel prices shot up. It appears he clearly simply believes fuel prices shot up because Dangote built a refinery. I wouldn't waste my time with that kind if I were you.

TenQ:
In any democracy where a sector of the populace feel disenfranchised, there is problem.

Secondly, by pure democracy only the Fulani and the Yoruba will ever rule this country! How about the Ijaw, Ibibio, Tangale, Edo, Itshekiri, Igbo etc. Should they be happy that population is not in their favour!?.
Like I said earlier:
If the current government have performed exceptionally, may they get a third time.

However if not, then at least we can achieve a resolution to the feelings of being disenfranchised by some people.

By the Way,
I do not like Democracy because when the majority of the populace are illiterates, they will always vote in incompetency
You seem to be drifting somewhat. Your initial point was that it is time for an Igbo president. I asked what makes it necessary to have an Igbo president at this particular time? It is a two part question:

a. Is having a Igbo president a guarantee of good governance or is there a different objective behind this quest?

I noticed you talked about disenfranchisement but the disenfranchisement relates to the right to vote not the right for your preferred candidate to win.

b. What makes it particularly the turn of the Igbos and not a minority tribe like the Efik? Is it that size is the major requirement? So, then, we'll be going turn by turn till the Efiks or Nupes or Afemai get their turn (out of the hundreds of ethnic groups) maybe in 3027?
Politics › Re: "Where Is Our ₦2.13b Ecological Fund? We found nothing"- Anambra Govt to Obi by SmartyPants(m): 4:38pm On Sep 27
TenQ:
Because it is overdue!
Because the kind of Democracy we run can never allow the best brains from minority ethnic groups to become the president.

Is this the best governance possible!?
If YES, let it continue!
If NO, lets give another a chance
1. Overdue in what sense? In a democracy where we theoretically operate on a one man one vote basis, is there any sense of a turn at the presidency being due to a particular region at a particular time? Does that mean each individual owes it to you to vote your region as opposed to exercising their free will?

2. Are you suggesting an Igbo president in particular is the answer to the ills of the present democracy? Can you explain further?

Business › Re: CBN Raises Regulatory Questions Over Non-Banks Offering Instalment Credit by SmartyPants(m): 1:46pm On Sep 27
Surprising statement. When these entities offer the ability to pay small small they aren't offering credit because the service is not offered until the payment is completed. That is more akin to deposit taking than to offering credit.

100 appearances and he still plays like a rookie. grin

I do wonder if the Super Eagles have ever produced a genuine world-class talent who has had the consistency to do it big in 4 or 5 consecutive seasons for both club and country.

I know we had the Yekinis, JJ, Kanu and Obi. But can we really say these were world-class?
Yakubu was the most consistent Super Eagles player and third highest scoring African player in the Premier League after Salah and Drogba. Was he world class? No. But he belongs in the conversation with the names you mentioned.

With the exception of a few new players.....which we know he will not play, essentially the same team that failed to qualify for the World Cup and same team that failed to lift the Nations Cup.

What mathematical equation should we use to obtain a different outcome.,...

We have yet to identify what is wrong with our football. And until then let us continue digging.

I personally will not invest one milligram of emotion into Nigerian football.
Football is not meant for emotional investment. It is meant for entertainment. Misplaced emotions are the cause of your present malaise. Life, in reality, is not that serious.

He did not take the loan, there is a big difference between loan approval and taking the actual money.
You can apply for a loan now and it gets approved, your lender will only debit you when you draw the money and even if it's true, such loans are low or zero interest loan, you can invest the money in government bond that will generate interest that will pay up the with more than enough left to you to become extremely rich and why do you think that all the countries in this world borrow money,
Love him or hate him, he is an intelligent businessman.

if his successors were as intelligent as him, Anambra state would have been the better off today.

Under him, Anambra became an oil producing state.
He was able to get approval for those low interest loan. If we really want this country to move forward, we should learn to see good in others, it will not make you less of a man
Lol. You have tried but ultimately still going round in circles because nonsense is very difficult to defend.

You don't know whether your claim is that the debt was low interest or no interest. Which exactly?

You don't even know whether you are arguing that he did not draw down the debt or that the debt was low/zero interest so it doesn't matter in the first instance.

Furthermore, that low/zero cost loans can be invested in bonds. And so? Did Peter invest the one he took in bonds? He said he didn't use it at all.

So come back when you know which angle of defense you want to adopt specifically so we can then engage on particular facts.

Let's assume this is even true. So this guy took a loan that will accrue interest but did not use it. So what was the point of burdening the state with those interest payments?

At best, he has unwittingly admitted to being a thoroughly incompetent administrator.
