What I am trying to do is get a proper classification of the regions.

Going into details is better but, it would be more acceptable to talk about West Africa, Central Africa, East Africa, Southern Africa and North Africa....

Ultimately what I want is for people to respect people by reading up on them and not put a blanket term on them. I don't see that happening with Africa and the laziness offends me.

The term Sub-Saharan may not be racist when used but, it is lazy and that laziness offends me to a large extent. It would be like calling everyone above the Sahara Supra-Saharan and including even Europeans in that term. It would tell me nothing about the numerous distinct ethnic groups.

Call people what they are or else!

Nubians are not Ethiopians and Ethiopians are not Hausa and the Hausa are not Bushmen etc etc. Under some random classification all of these diverse people can be thrown under the name Sub-Saharan but, there is more diversity there and as much diversity between these people as there is between North Africans and them. My main point is I want the people of Africa to be respected and each group of people called what they are rather than put under a blanket term which is false in ever sense of the word.

Once again!!! Different peoples should be called who they are and not Sub-Saharan.

North Africa was never occupied by black Africans, the Berbers, Coptics, Tuaregs, Romans, Jews, Greeks, Phoenicians, Persians, Arabs, Turks have all been a part of North Africa. The early Black settlers came via Juba in South Sudan and west Africa (north Nigeria, Mali, etc) as slaves.

Learn some history!I studied history a few years back and Historians consider the History of Egypt and Sudan to be intertwined. Go ask yourself why? In the end I don't think this is what this topic is about though

This is about the use of the term Sub-Saharan which I think is too broad.

The term is fraudulent and I will not accept to be called it without knocking someones teeth out. Every time I see it used it is to homogenize a diverse region and has within it the concept of the "dark continent" of numerous barbarians whose common culture is barbarism..There is a huge difference between a Chadian and a South African but, all are bunched together as Sub-Saharan. The term makes no sense in any context used and should not be accepted as it is a lazy way of doing journalism in that one does not take the time to find out about the actual people being called Sub-Saharan.
