What you intend to achieve matters a lot, at the end of the campaign you should be able to measure, it should be relevant to your audience, it should be achievable and sms should be sent at the right time, i tell clients that sms must be treated as a campaign, consistent, sent out weekly for a month by month period for your goals to br achieved, such as brand awareness, conversion and ROI.
Target Audience
Getting the right people matters for your kind of business through a targeted database whether for student or workers and business owners. You dont sell something for workers and target students it wont work.
Call to Action
Remember you have 160 characters for one page sms keep it simple and direct reciepient to take action, and please include offers in your sms, bonus on purchase, free ebook there must be a freebie or it won’t be effective.

But I just want to give you a brief to starting your campaigns.


1 Determine your target audience,choose the right platform, what will work on Instagram wouldn't work on you tube or Facebook.

2. Do a presentation with your camera phone or in a studio abou your brand, state the objectives and what you want your viewer to do. Your CTA( call to action)

3. Use explainer videos, done by a designer you can hire us for that, stating all what you do in a less that 60 sexs video, to be shared on YouTube and Facebook.

Social selling.
Social media is all about socialising
With a certain community of people
Not everyone needs your product or service.


You need to identify your own tribe by creating your page on Facebook for e.g,
Identify social media to use, but for startups limit it to Facebook,Twitter and Linkedin, but if into catering,events that
is very visual use Instagram.

Ask questions and offer solutions and don't hard sell , except during Promos after offering VALUE.

Use story telling methods especially on Facebook to make your post and be consistent.

Email Marketing.

This medium is gradually taking centre
Stage as more people are using mobile devices to access their emails making
It very effective and affordable.


Using any of the email platforms like Aweber and getresponse collate your
Contacts you have got through social media, seminars or from companies
Like mine who sell credible listings.

Send your Proposals and newsletters, twice weekly, do not over do it so as not
To be marked as spam.

It is important to get the right email list to send out newsletters,to know about your audience age, location and occupation to ensure positive responses.

It gives you a statistics of how your newsletters are responded to, like clicks to your website, subscribers, view rates.

This will all be used for your follow-ups and measurement.



You have to however be very creative in sending out your newsletter, keep it short and sweet, taking into consideration your value proposition, call to action and scarcity.





You do not spam or send sales letters to recipients (prospects) who don’t like sales emails, don’t appear salesy.

Remember they are accessing their emails on the mobile phone and concentration is less than five minutes.



Title of your subject is very important to ensure your email is read, you can get very personal and arouse curiosity.

I need not tell you again that digital marketing is the new media, if your business is not online now I really don’t know the future of your business. Over 80 million Nigerians are active online, you have to have strategies on ground and not just pray and fast into this newyear 2016.

Digital marketing simply means marketing of your product or service online!

Here are five steps to get you started:

Bulksms campaigns

It’s no longer news that our mobile smart phone is the future, 90% of SMS sent out will be read in 5mins, targeted creative bulksms messages will be sent, not everyone needs your service, You must have a phone number targeted database and start your campaigns.

BBM Campaigns

Notice I said campaigns, marketing of your product or service as to be consistent ( keep at it),( I’m able to talk about this because it has worked for me) so you will be sending out your BC ( relevant messages that will be read, begin with a trending topic..story etc) Send BC at least 3 to 4 times weekly, like I have over 1500 contacts (which is not much) you can build your list by simply sharing your BB pins( on social media) along with useful tips for people to add you.

Email Marketing

Sending of your proposals/Newsletters to a targeted email list, consistently, weekly or twice weekly, category of emails can be youths, workers,business.

Using an email blaster that sends you reports of statistics of views. ( Recipients that has read your mail).

Database Sourcing

If you noticed I have kept saying targeted database, simply means getting the right audience to market your product and services, through various category of either phone numbers or Emails of Location specific, Occupation, Age etc.

Web banner Adverts

If you have visited Bella Naija, or Linda Ikeji’s Blog you would have seen banners of different brands, that’s how you can generate income and also get your brand advertised to millions on the internet! Get your designed banners on your website, or on another’s.
