First of all, remember that no HR literally skims like you put it. Software/ ai longlists (moderate companies count up to 2-3k applications. On output, same software will skip your application for listing achievement I'm place of duties. It is safer to say, list achievements with roles. Ideally, you list your roles in the CV and emphasize your achievement in the cover letter. These things somehow work with algorithm. Pls don't mislead people.
michaelodafe: If you keep applying and hearing nothing, your CV is probably losing in the first 10 seconds.
Here are 5 common mistakes I keep seeing:
1. Weak headline Instead of just "CV", open with your target role + years of experience. Example: "Customer Support Specialist | 3 years | SaaS + CRM experience"
2. Duties instead of results Don’t write "responsible for sales". Write what changed because of you: "closed 18 new accounts in 90 days" or "reduced response time from 12h to 3h".
3. No keywords from the job post If the role says Excel, CRM, inventory, reconciliation, stakeholder management, those exact words should appear naturally where true.
4. Long paragraphs Recruiters skim. Use bullets, numbers, tools, and outcomes. Make the page easy to scan.
5. Generic application mail Even 4 clean lines work better than a lazy "Find attached".
Simple template:
Hello [Hiring Manager], I’m applying for the [Role] position. I have [X years] experience in [field] and recently achieved [specific result]. I believe my background in [2 relevant skills] fits this role well. My CV is attached for review.
If you want, drop your job title + years of experience and I’ll suggest a stronger CV headline format here in the thread.
My eyes are just on those drinks. 50% fake. Naija Obi should have tried deputizing Atiku again. Anyways, bottom line is that rigging is already in full gear. The fear of losing the north will make jagaban do that hat he knows how to do best. Huge amount of money is already exchanging hands. His son is also sharing. Machiavialli- create hunger and feed them at the virge of power.
Peterobiisathie: Nigeria-linked drug racket exposed as cocaine was shipped to Raipur in BP machine boxes; two accused, including a Nigerian national, arrested
Good job! You can start doing two incidents in a day There are hit guys in Sri Lanka and Thailand yesterday. Maybe you ask your research guys to post them for front page.
adenigga: The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, on Sunday said its operatives have intercepted a consignment of an amphetamine-based drug, Captagon, in Kwara State.
Captagon, a highly addictive stimulant commonly used in the Middle East, is known for inducing prolonged wakefulness, euphoria and reduced fear.
Authorities say it is often linked to criminal networks and insurgent groups.
NDLEA said the interception followed an earlier bust at the Apapa seaport in Lagos.
This was made known in a statement issued by NDLEA’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi.
The statement said operatives on patrol along Bode Saadu Road on April 21, 2026, intercepted a passenger, Nasiru Mu’azu, 33, in a trailer.
According to the statement, a search led to the recovery of 10 packs of Captagon comprising 10,000 pills, as well as nine packets of Tapentadol 250mg.
In a separate operation at the same patrol point on April 24, NDLEA operatives intercepted another trailer and recovered 155,900 capsules of tramadol, 6,000 ampoules of tramadol injection, 3,000 tablets of co-codamol and 9,000 tablets of bromazepam concealed in a false compartment. A suspect, Aminu Isah, 24, was arrested.
In Oyo State, NDLEA officers intercepted a commercial bus along the Ibadan/Oyo Expressway on April 21. A passenger, Eze Prince Emeka, 33, was subjected to a body scan, which confirmed ingestion of illicit drugs. He later excreted 45 pellets of cocaine weighing 1.043 kilograms over three sessions.
The suspect reportedly intended to transport the drugs to Europe through trans-Saharan routes, using Algeria as a transit point after initial delivery in Sokoto.
In Edo State, NDLEA operatives on April 25 intercepted a truck along the Benin/Lagos expressway carrying 1,196,000 pills of pharmaceutical opioids. Two suspects, Osagie Igbinibo, 43, and Omijie Malik, 44, were arrested. The consignment was reportedly headed to Onitsha, Anambra State.
Other operations across the country led to additional seizures and arrests.
In Lagos, a suspect, Rasheed Ibuowo, 40, was apprehended with 810 kilograms of cannabis. In Bauchi State, Muktar Bello, 35, was arrested with 288 blocks of skunk weighing 154.5kg.
In Ekiti State, 466.8kg of skunk was recovered from a residence, while NDLEA operatives destroyed 20,000kg of cannabis cultivated on farmland in Cross River State.
In Niger State, 394 components suspected to be for improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were seized from a suspect, Mohammed Aliyu, 26, who has been handed over to relevant security agencies.
NDLEA Chairman, Mohamed Buba Marwa, commended officers involved in the operations and described the Captagon seizure as a significant disruption of drug trafficking networks.
He warned that the drug remains a target for traffickers due to its links to violence and insecurity, adding that the agency would sustain efforts to prevent its spread.
The earlier you realism that people are no longer interested in this paid research assignment the better. At a time when Europeans and Asians are uniting their countries for development, Africans are busy exhibiting starke ignorance. When the menace of Italian Mafia spread across Europe and even America, holding governments at Ransome, no single European country called for the mass deportation of Italians from other countries. That was almost when the European Union formed the Europol to handle transborder crimes and established a single jurisdiction under the regional court.
This has been far cry from the truth in Africa. South Africans are calling for deportation of Nigerians, Ghanaians, Ghanaians are calling for deportation of Nigerians. And white men strategically permeated these countries inordinately holding the highest stakes in their economies. They are after petty crimes purportedly committed by African brothers.
A Swedish lady introducing a french guy once told me 'we are one', as if describing Europe to a rooky. America is anti china, but they know they cannot completely do without the most populous people of the earth. The number of Chinese students and technicians I see in California especially IT and tech hubs sends some secret messages about the reality of the 'cold war' between the two global giants.
In Chinese universities, the number of American professors you find there showcase another puzzle. So, who is fooling who?
The problem of Africa is classified ignorance and not poverty.
ogododo: The gathering, held at the Banquet Hall of the Oyo State Government House, brought together leaders from major opposition parties including the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), African Democratic Congress (ADC), and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), among others.
Several opposition figures across Nigeria’s political landscape converged in Ibadan on Saturday for a high-stakes national summit aimed at forging unity and strengthening collaboration ahead of future elections.
The gathering, held at the Banquet Hall of the Oyo State Government House, brought together leaders from major opposition parties including the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), African Democratic Congress (ADC), and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), among others.
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo chaired the meeting, while Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde hosted the event in what organisers described as a decisive move to confront Nigeria’s worsening socio-economic and security challenges.
The summit, themed “That We May Work Together for a United Opposition to Sustain Our Democracy,” is seen as a bold attempt to realign opposition forces and present a formidable front against the ruling establishment.
In a statement shared via the PDP’s official X (formerly Twitter) account, organisers said the meeting serves as a “strategic response” to the nation’s deepening crises, stressing the urgency of coordinated political action.
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar confirmed his presence, stating, “I have just arrived in Ibadan, Oyo State, for the National Summit of all opposition parties.”
Similarly, former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, expressed optimism about the engagement, noting his readiness for “meaningful discussions with fellow national leaders.”
Other notable early arrivals included former Sokoto State Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal and Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the Labour Party’s 2023 governorship candidate in Lagos State.
Meanwhile, insiders at the meeting noted that discussions would centre on building a unified opposition framework, strengthening inter-party cooperation, and mapping out a strategic political direction capable of challenging the status quo in upcoming electoral contests.
A group of South African locals questioned a Ghanaian man over alleged overstaying, telling him to return to Ghana and push for change at home, claiming they are "fixing the continent" a situation raising fresh concerns about xenophobia in South… pic.twitter.com/d925MoyEuA
The viral video where members of Operation Dudula (an anti-immigration organisation and registered political party) confronted a Ghanaian man who had allegedly overstayed his visit to South Africa has caused a diplomatic row between the two countries.
Here's why I think the Ghanaian government has a weak case:
1. Their citizen has potentially committed a crime in SA by flouting immigration rules - he's allegedly now living and working in SA on an expired tourist visa.
2. Operation Dudula did not assault the Ghanaian, they simply lectured him on their anti-immigration stance.
3. The South African government has committed to investigate the matter, which would compel it to either arrest or deport the Ghanaian national should he infact be an illegal alien.
4. South Africa can request Ghana for reasons why her citizens resort to illegal migration (i.e. find the country uninhabitable).
Your thoughts?
One very funny thing is that they are so scared of white people they plundered their land.

Even a secondary school student won't make this senseless statement......The whites who own the language have different accents.
Trump has produced worse gibberish. But I am saying, why should an African president from a country that has an indigenous national language and spoken against cultural imperialism promote English language in such accasion ?

Light1000: Pope Leo says he was not seeking to debate Donald Trump when he criticised "tyrants" for spending billions on wars in a speech earlier this week.
The pontiff said the remarks, delivered days after a high-profile spat with the US president, had been written a fortnight earlier – "well before the president ever commented on myself".
"And yet as it happens, it was looked at as if I was trying to debate, again, the president, which is not in my interest at all," he told reporters aboard a flight to Angola on Saturday.
On Monday, Trump launched a scathing attack on the first American Pope – who has been a vocal critic of the US-Israeli military operation in Iran – as "terrible for foreign policy".
The Pope, who is on a tour of Africa, said a "certain narrative that has not been accurate" had developed, citing "the political situation created" by Trump's comments.
In response to the pontiff's latest remarks, US Vice-President JD Vance, who converted to Catholicism as an adult, said he was "grateful to Pope Leo for saying this".
"While the media narrative constantly gins up conflict - and yes, real disagreements have happened and will happen - the reality is often much more complicated," Vance added.
Earlier in the week - before the Pope's speech referring to "tyrants" - Vance had urged the Vatican to "stick to matters of morality".
During the speech in Cameroon on Thursday, the Pope had criticised leaders who "turn a blind eye to the fact that billions of dollars are spent on killing and devastation, yet the resources needed for healing, education and restoration are nowhere to be found".
Guys from the South East, dey open mouth there while these bigots finish you. Let me show you the trending crimes involving Nigerians in the international scene. Please verify this so that these guys' agenda will be clear.
Where is the news of Tunde Benak arrested in the US for £300m fraud.?
There are other trending BURNING news that are not yanked to the front page.
These selective reportage borne out of tribal hate is the reason Nigerians are now being profiled on ethnic lines even in the US. Operatives now inquire for your tribe the moment you mention Nigeria, with innocent Igbo people bearing the brunt of it as if other tribes dont get enmeshed in crimes of sort.
Crimes in the US are under reported because of national image and other considerations. Please come to LA or New York, et al. Guys in the US should tell if I'm lying.
Here, if they see a name that looks Igbo, they yank it to their freaking front page and create avenue for vilifying a tribe. South Africa and the rest now make reference to Nairaland to haul offensives at Igbos.
Why not create a section in your I'll conceived forum about 'Igbo drug peddling'.
The national Assembly must do something about this.
We are not condoning crime, but there should be a professional touch in handling it, not hate and useless motives.
I may not doubt this. They said there is real poverty in Ekiti. But one wonders why with professors here and there. US, out of 10 Nigerian Professors, 3 are from Ekiti alone
