An average South African patiently waits till he has his back against the wall. His reactions becomes disproportionate, to the extent of having others join without anyone asking questions. I guess the history of apartheid must have contributed to this.
Nigerian questions a potential mistreatment right from a scratch. He may not engage in a cataclysmic reaction but could go home to prepare for the doomsday. The gate of hell will be opened on that day, justice may be served.
America where some of the magic drugs are being produced, their presidents reject them and engage in serious programs on diet and work-outs.
When the crop of aged African presidents that resort to these relatively new medical inventions retire, sedentary lifestyles that will set in brings serious health risks.
May he succeed if he is the anointed one. God is still on the throne!
Poor sensationalism! and Seun's editor's cannot even crosscheck captions before pulling stuff to the front page. 'Go home and put your house in order' is a normal statement in court when there is a mismatch of pages of documents presented, things like that. It is not often said in literal sense.
Quora takes at times one week to cross check posts before accepting it. Its terrible
I have relations in Russia. Hearing all these for the first time. With all the sanctions against Russian economy? Please seek further information before japaing to Russia!
No even when the west has sent F36 death merchant for offensives in Russia when Ukraine is nudged to so launch.
Morphinne: A medical personnel who recognized Antiretroviral drugs but too ignorant to know that people taking such meds can never infect others due to their LOW viral counts/load resulting from their use of the drugs The jokes are on you. I’m surprised to see a supposed medical professional still getting baffled about the existence of HIV in 2023 when antiretroviral drugs and therapies don full everywhere. A real medical personnel would be more concerned abt other life-threatening illnesses like cancer. This one sounds more like an alarmist than a doctor. Native doctor isonu. Let’s pretend we don’t know this is just another cock and bull story. Bia OP, you can pass across your message without resorting to imaginative writing, people now live perfect lives with HIVs. All these nairaland kids ehn
Consolist, still moderate your strafing without cap oh. people still get infected big time,
Rtk4: I met this lady on Facebook and before you say jack we started dating. As time went on i decided to invite her to my house on a particular day....
That was our first meeting and we had sex. I was suprise to see that she was a virgin, infact real tear rubber wey be say na me open am. She cried and left, after some time she informed me that she hasn't seen her period ooh, so i told her to run a pregnancy test fast cos my mind don dey beat uncontrollably.
After the test it was confirmed that she was pregnant hmmmmm, God of mercy, i was so confused and devasted. To cut the long story short i went to to see her family with my own family and informed them that i would be fully responsible for the child but i wasn't ready for marriage.
After deep conversation with both family we left. But what struck me was during the conversation i sighted a HIV drug on their dinning table(I'm a doctor), immediately my mind was not at rest again. So upon reaching home, i started interrogating her on WhatsApp and calls about the drug I saw until she opened up to me that all her siblings were HIV positive including the father and mother and that She was the only one who was negative.
From the moment she told me that my mind hasn't been at rest again because i wasn't sure she was telling me the truth about her own status. I started running HIV test from that day every month until a year later before i confirmed I wasn't infected but you need to see the way i lost weight due to depression.
Please guys be careful out there, AIDS IS REAL. Though she later gave birth to my lovely son but unfortunately he died before clocking a year. I do not wish to remember the pain I passed as a result of his death.
Retired tennis superstar Serena Williams unveiled her latest project on the red carpet at the Met Gala in New York on Monday night – she is pregnant with her second child.
“Was so excited when Anna Wintour invited the 3 of us to the Met Gala,” Williams said on Instagram just before she arrived at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, decked out in a black and white gown, for fashion’s biggest night of the year.
In the photos, the 41-year-old tennis great is seen posing in a black and white gown with her husband Alexis Ohanian, the founder of Reddit, and cradling the baby bump.
The event, which traditionally holds every first Monday of May, had its 2023 theme as, 'Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty' honouring the late designer, who died in 2019.
My conversation with a serious church member in a southern Africa country.
I had reached out to some sex workers always standing at certain park, led some of them to Christ and gave those that said they were hungry money.
I needed partnership for the next outreach. Then I consulted a new brethren I met. The conversation that ensued:
Hi bro we need to evangelize to the sex workers at the AB Park.
Him: Why? why not your colleagues in the office? What is happening to the people at the park?
Me: I mean those ladies. ..
Him: cuts in, I know those p$#&y sellers. Do they have a lot of unbelievers among them?
Me: speechless!
Him: ohhh, I see, you can actually invite them to church. He said apologetically. I mean, yes,, but, government givu them licence, he concluded in native twang.
The Op to a separate thread on FP ranted about how Nigerian weather is the best bla bla. And below is my response:
The moderately cold weather in places like southern Africa is way better than the predominantly oven hot weather in Nigeria. In fact, I prefer the European frosty weather.
The Nigerian extreme tropical weather breeds all kinds of useless insects especially mosquitoes and houseflies which are vectors of all kinds of disease causing organisms. The high humidity also causes rapid decomposition of items and release of odorous air; we do not breathe good air in Nigeria. Smelly streets everywhere!
Such smells are hardly a challenge in an average European town and you can't see all those mosquitoes, cockroaches and houseflies.
One advantage Nigeria has regarding that tropical weather is agro yields. But then, we are even hardly subsistent; and worse still, herdsmen have chased people away from farms. Oyibos instead of waiting for you organic food export have resorted to GMO and that is ok for them.
Apart from the rich natural resources Which rotates in the hands of wrong leaders like Buhari, who is being succeeded by another misfit, every other thing in Nigeria is in the negative.
TyroneP: ‘Japa’, a lingo in Nigeria for deliberate exit from the country especially for greener pastures abroad, has been a constant happening over the last few years with students, professionals and partners forming the chunk of those fleeing its shores.
As enticing as the idea of being in a relatively ‘better’ country is, the experiences of people who have left have continued to prove that truly ‘there is no place like home.’ Taking a look at the diverse peculiarities of Nigeria, here are five things you will miss if you find yourself abroad. Nigerian Foods
Food is peculiar to every country. And Nigeria, with its plethora of ethnic groups, has a slew of foods its citizens don’t joke with. From Amala, to Akpu, Ogbono, Bread and Beans down to Moi Moi, these are foods that are dear to every Nigerian, and no amount of civilization can unplug the relish for these foods.
The moment you are leaving the shores of the country, you are as well leaving behind these ‘unique’ delectables whose tastes are never the same even when taken outside of their place of origin ( Largely because they’re transported to other markets with lots of additives that change the organic tastes ).
2. Weather
If there is a thing in Nigeria that is highly underappreciated, it is the weather. Nigerians in the diaspora have always expressed their struggles with the frosty weather abroad, and how much they miss the cozy and friendly weather in the country.
3. Family and Friends
Moving to a new country most times entails leaving behind family members and friends who you might not see for as long as your stay abroad. Though technology helps us connect beyond boundaries, the feeling of being physically around your family members and friends is matchless.
4. Owambe
Nigeria is ‘big’ on parties – and that is on period. Flamboyant, lavish, expensive, food-filled, dramatic, these features of the Owambe parties are unequaled anywhere in the world. It is one of the many things that make Nigeria exclusive, and being in the country unparalleled.
5. Free Amenities
Abroad you pay for almost everything from as high as electricity bills to as low as water bills. Their social amenities are prioritized, and it works in a way that you cannot evade paying for the bills of the amenities you use. In Nigeria, water bills are scarce as almost everyone has their own system of getting water; indiscriminate parking of cars is common but can’t be dared abroad without you being ticketed.
I totally disagree with you on weather. The moderately cold weather in places like southern Africa is way better than the oven hot weather in Nigeria. In fact, I prefer the European frosty weather.
